Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they're here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

How many sang this as they read the words? I did. "Imagine" has been playing in my head lately.

Coronavirus advice for contact lens wearers includes switching to glasses

Contact lens wearers are being advised to switch to glasses amid the novel coronavirus outbreak as doing so may lessen the urge to touch your eyes.

The advice, issued by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), is part of larger guidance on how to stop COVID-19 from entering through the eyes.

While it is well known that the virus can spread through respiratory droplets or by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your own mouth or nose, it can also spread through the eyes, although according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the latter is not thought to be the main way the virus is transmitted.

Instacart’s Gig Workers Are Planning a Massive, Nationwide Strike

<snip> To date, Instacart—like its Silicon Valley peers at Uber, Lyft, Postmates, and DoorDash—has offered up to two weeks of paid sick leave to gig workers only if they test positive for Covid-19, at a time when tests are in short supply. That offer only lasts until April 8, before the worst of the pandemic is set to hit. For many gig workers who live paycheck to paycheck this means there’s no other option but to work while sick.

Instacart workers are planning to strike until the company gives them hazard pay and safety gear

  • Instacart workers are planning to strike on Monday until the company gives them hazard pay and safety gear.
  • The workers are asking the company for an additional $5 per order and an automatic tip of 10% of the order total.
  • They're also asking for safety gear like hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and soap.
  • The group is requesting expanded paid leave for workers with a preexisting condition or those who require a self-quarantine.

Disgraceful and shameful we reached this point when we had the gifts of....

Grrr. Please see my post here on this from earlier. I’m super pissed off today.

Useless emotion. Does no good.

Numbers have doubled every 3 days to go from 24,000 to 85,000 yesterday. It is disgraceful. More has to be done now. It's never too late to put everyone in lockdown. I agree with you 100%.

Did the US give any supplies to China when they first had the epidemic? Canada gave 16 tons of medical equipment and supplies to China. Now Canada is in trouble. Hopefully the Chinese will send 16 tons of supplies and equipment to Canada soon.

This reminds me and this is totally MOO but I have noticed major bags, redness, puffiness, discoloration under some Covid’s patient’s eyes. JMO

Which also reminds me, did anyone catch Dr. Maria the other day addressing a reporter’s question and confirming that some patients report early symptoms of losing taste and smell? That was news to me. I’m sure it’s been posted here.

is this ultra frightening for those of you living in high rise/multi family buildings?

That describes us, but I don't feel frightened by the building's common doorknob, stair railing, etc. I know I have some denial but am washing hands often. At the same time, we can't change where we live.
What does scare me is thinking about the schools, restaurants, etc. opening again.

Not political imo because it is a FACT Dr. LW was silenced. We have chapters on Dr. LW in the early threads.

Thank you for letting me know @margarita25 I saw Lisa Ling this morning talking about this, I clicked on a few of her links and found the article. After seeing you write Non-Political on your post, I was not sure.

Makes sense. He would not survive the virus, and death by virus would be slow and painful. Better to give people the option of euthanasia when there is no hope for recovery.
BBM - I know this is a controversial statement but I have to say I agree with it. I hope I would be brave enough to do the same thing under those circumstances. God bless this selfless man and his family. :(
