You could be right... i've been doing it for weeks now, but am supposed to have a doc appt in a couple of weeks, so will ask. I am one who grew up with a mother who stuffed Vicks Vapo Rub up my nose...!! And I just went and rummaged through my health products and do have some nose stuff that I think I will take with me now...

Ha ha! My Grandmother was a great believer in Menthalatum (sp?). She used to slather it on my chest, topped with a warm, moist washcloth. A cup of tea, with a shot of whiskey and sugar.

Geez, I miss my Grandma. Always had a bottle of Irish whiskey in the cupboard, for "medicinal" purposes, of course.

They didn’t want to postpone the Olympics so I had assumed they were holding back something. Now that it’s officially postponed, they seem to be testing again.

a calming effect on our country and he knows how to communicate to the people
of this country so they understand the seriousnesx of the situation, but more importantly

IMO he can't do it without declaring martial law. States are in control of their own national guards. Mr. Trump mentioned that he didn't want New Yorkers to go to Florida. He is now an official resident of Florida.

I think this virus is going to lead to increased legal battles between the federal government and the states. What if the feds tell me to go out and spend and my New England state tells me to hunker down?

Yes, it's all very difficult. From what I understand, and @Bravo can correct me, is that in Canada, if you test positive, then the Public Health Unit will contact you, find out who you have been in contact with, and then contact those people and so on. I don't think that they leave it up to the individual to do the contacts. But at some point, as the case numbers explode, I wonder if they will be able to do the work to keep up. It's labour intensive to make all the calls and follow up by calling back. I don't know how many calls @Bravo will receive. Maybe she can keep us posted about the process.

This is what Singapore and South Korea did---> intense forensic back tracking. Often finding people who did not have a single symptom. My understanding, from someone living in South Korea, they are really opening up again because they did it fast and quick. The question will be if there are re-infections, and or symptom-less carriers.

I truly think the US is terribly terribly terribly wrong. With no major plan. The military should have been brought in to plan this from the getgo. imo

He said the first thing that Boris said to him was that "We need ventilators". Then he said that we are the only country that can manufacture them, and "if we don't need them" we will share especially with UK, and then he named other European countries we would also furnish ventilators to. I can't find a link to the speech at the hospital ship a couple of hours ago, but IMO he reiterated the same message of sending ventilators over there, now that we are producing so many.

Nurses don't want to be part of the problem, they want to be part of the solution,” the nurse told News 4.

She says she bought N-95 masks with her own money so she didn't jeopardize the hospital's supply. She doesn't work with coronavirus patients but wanted protection for her and her co-workers because people not showing symptoms can spread the virus.

"I walked into work with my mask on and my boss said I had to take it off. I told her I would not take it off or I would quit,” the nurse said. “It was for my safety, my coworkers safety, my patient's safety."

So she resigned and she says officials with the hospital told her to leave without a two-week notice.

"I really found it shocking that for me to protect myself during a pandemic that they would let a nurse walk out the door," the nurse said.

St. Mary's said the following to News 4:

"We believe there is no basis in fact to the allegations that nursing leaders have directed nurses to work in an unsafe manner. We do currently have restrictions on hospital staff supplying their own PPE as we cannot guarantee that personal PPE is up to CDC standards and has been properly sterilized. "

Unfortunately, Missouri is not only my home state, but I am back living here again. Not that the state I was living in-SC- is handling this situation any better. smh moo imo
ETA; a thought just occurred to me. Someday ex- has lots of the high risk traits going on. If sdex gets it, I may not have to get a divorce.

Wow just wow, I’m watching Wednesday’s WHO Presser, and as usual I am just blown away with respect and admiration and appreciation for the people on this panel.

I had posted the DG’s opening remarks yesterday, and plan to highlight some of those points if I can get to it.

I just wanted to say maaaybe some people in the States miiiight scroll past information about other nations, because they might think it has nothing to do with them locally at the moment.

Maybe your state is still sending completed tests to CDC which take a week or longer.

New York is using private labs and getting results back quickly.

I think so, as well as the out of state tests, which I get, being close to OH, TN, WV. But the lack of info creates a sense of safety,imo.
But, no laws against discussing it, so word travels. Everyone that knows anyone knows someone that works at Toyota, so that helps.

A fellow Kentuckian myself, looking forward to fresh tomatoes! I am hoping we are handling this situation well. My granddaughter is devastated by not having graduation, prom, but seems to be handling it pretty good.

Lol, a divorce lawyer was on TMZ last night, maybe promoting her NV law firm? (Hey, I’m here when ya need me.). I know a few that won’t make it thru if this lasts. They are happily married as long as they are both with work & biz trips, but at home together after 2-3 days, look out!

I am already on the future divorce list, having separated from my spouse moving myself to MO. Thank goodness I do not have to deal with this being in stay at home with the some day ex.
