I will refrain from posting about this man.

It's amazing how quickly things change.

"Since I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions. Here’s the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see “The Traitor” @FilmLinc. If “The Wire” was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film.

I am not a FL resident but I agree with you. So many tourists, cruise ships etc. People love Florida and I am one of them. The first few years after my brother moved to Florida he had endless guests !!! I think FL has been over-exposed to the virus but that is JMO.
I agree with you that Florida has been overexposed, especially with all the students on spring break, on the beaches and in the bars. It makes my head spin (almost in a complete 360) that the governor there is "forbidding" travelers from NY, NJ, etc now. He did not seem all that concerned about the vacationers there a week or so ago, nor about them leaving the state and carrying the virus with them back to their respective homes. JMO

Her vision is perfect, she’s fine and we have our own sign language. The sad part is one day she could hear perfectly and hours later nothing, so she had to immediately adjust.
Prob’ much dif’ than slowly losing it.
I might drive her to a nursing home or two, and walk her around so the residents can see her! Maybe I’ll do so tomorrow, weather permitting. She’s a ham as well as a stunning red head, maybe she can brighten an otherwise grim day for someone. The days must be hideously long for the elderly in nursing homes.

We have a deaf cat who has been deaf since birth. We read online when he was just a kitten that we should try to use sign language, which we did, and so we are able to communicate with him quite a bit. We also have a hearing cat, the two of them have been together since we rescued them when they were abandoned, together at one month old. The deaf cat takes cues from the hearing cat, it's interesting to watch. For example, our deaf cat wasn't afraid of the vacuum cleaner, but our hearing cat would run, our deaf cat learned that there was danger and he learned to run, too. He cues off her for signs of danger, when I'm home and the car pulls into the driveway, etc. They are 9 years old now, and could never be separated.

@Deerrun I also used to live in Florida, and I am positive that the numbers testing positive for Coronavirus, is vastly under counted.

And, I think that the death rate will also be under counted.
These are the same folks that have trouble counting ballots....

What if the Governor issued it, or better yet, what if it would help?
It sounds like a good idea to me. I don't understand why anyone would be against it. JMO

Yes! Court is closed until June at least. I think our worst will be around mid-May.
I dunno why my whole post didn't post but so glad you're ok.

I was told earlier today that I was being a "B" for being so careful. I'm only trying to keep my high risk husband safe.

I'm beyond upset.

More than half of the population that lives in Assisted Living Facilities, they don't even have cars. They go everywhere in the facility bus: shopping, casino day, mall day, Walmart day. All as a big group of old people. They do everything in groups, bridge, bocce ball, bingo.

There is no way that these folks are being counted in Broward and Dade counties.

Help what? The virus is all over. We are testing more that’s why our numbers are high.

Why didn’t they go after the people on the Floridian beaches today instead of threatening to shut down our state border. Ridiculous!

Sarcasm on.....Nah, what the heck good would a lockdown do? I mean, why would you want to prevent travel from the most infected spots to those regions that are less affected?......Sarcasm off.

Sorry, I just get tired of the politicization, be it what it is. All political leaders, world wide, are in uncharted waters. None have faced this type of thing before.

peace :)

I posted a Naples news source that said in their first day of testing they only had 40 tests and had to turn many people away.

Florida is a huge problem and they are going to blame the tourists. Well then shut the State border down and stop the $15 airfares!

Help prevent further spread from NYC to other regions of the country. It's a no brainer for me. Sorry you don't see it.

I have a brother that lives in Florida and I am worried about him. These beach goers keep going to the beach. cruise ships are coming in with infected people. How can anyone in Florida stay safe unless they never leave home.

The beach is great but we are in a World Crisis- wake-up folks.

My brother and his family live in St. Augustine.

And continuing to politicize the issue at hand is terribly unproductive.....

"In her Friday New York Times op-ed titled “The Road to Coronavirus Hell Was Paved by Evangelicals,” journalist and author Katherine Stewart claimed that since religious voters supported Trump, he governs without regard for science."

Catholic League: NY Times Is ‘Mainstreaming Paranoia’ Against Christians
With much respect, posting an opinion piece about politics to point out that politicalization is abhorrent is a furtherance of what you describe as “unproductive” politicalization right here. MOO.

Pennsylvania has several counties with no cases as of yet, and this table shows the data of those that do have cases.....This is the way things are in a great majority of the Nation. Preventing a high infected area from travel throughout the nation could very well be extremely beneficial.

You’ll see it when your state starts mass testing. Every state will see it. You think it’s not where you live?

I don’t care if he closes my border but someone has to look at Florida and say stop enabling and look at the welfare of your own state at the moment.
