Vice President Mike Pence said on Saturday that he would deliver a recommendation to the president on whether to re-open the US economy in the coming week despite Sen Lindsey Graham telling him not to lift the lockdown too early.

'
We're going to protect our vulnerable Americans but in the midst of doing all of that, as the president said, his desire is to put America back to work, to open our country up as soon as we can responsibly do that and the team this week has been bringing those recommendations to him,' Pence told Fox News.

Pence's remarks came shortly after it was revealed that Graham privately phoned President Donald Trump earlier this week and begged him not to reopen the country before medics say it is safe.

Three White House insiders told The Washington Post that Graham spoke to the president on the phone and bluntly told the commander-in-chief that he will 'own the deaths from the novel coronavirus' if he orders people to return to work too early.

According to the sources, Trump listened to the South Carolina senator but 'made no promises'.

Pence says team will make recommendation about reopening economy soon

Eau de Lysol...or Clorox #5

yessssss! And for those special moments, use both.
Honestly, I think I’ve cleaned so much, all I smell is bleach or disinfectants. A vet friend gave me a gallon of something they use in the clinic, I washed doors & patio furniture with it. Idk what it was, I tossed the container.

Country music star Joe Diffie dies of coronavirus at 61

Joe Diffie, an icon to many country fans for his string of No. 1 hits in the 1990s, has died from complications related to the coronavirus, a spokesperson revealed Sunday afternoon. He was 61.

“Grammy-winning country music legend Joe Diffie passed away today, Sunday, March 29, from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19),” the statement read simply. “His family respects their privacy at this time.”

On Friday, Diffie become the first country star to go public with a coronavirus diagnosis. “I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment,” a statement attributed to him read. “My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic.”

Diffie, a member of the Grand Ole Opry for 25 years, is a household name to any country fan who came of age listening to the format in the 1990s. He had more than 20 top 10 country hits, five of which went to No. 1 (“Home,” “If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets,” “Third Rock from the Sun,” “Pickup Man” and “Bigger Than the Beatles”). Two of his 13 albums went platinum and another two were certified gold.
Well damn :(

I cannot find lysol anyplace!!!

Me neither. But Instacart helped the economy by providing me with Pledge Multipurpose instead (we'll use it but it's not the same). I have no Lysol. My poor grandma must be quite disappointed in me.

Without help lowering their costs by having the government pay for the most expensive hospital stays, Mr. Lee warned that insurers are likely to seek rates that are double their additional costs from the virus. If their costs go up 20 percent, Mr. Lee says rates could jump as much as 40 percent in 2021.

Coronavirus May Add Billions to the Nation’s Health Care Bill

Well, that will be it for me. I'm barely hanging on paying a $730 monthly premium as it is (with a$6,750 deductible). Hard now to pay your premium AND actually go to the doctor in the same month.

JOHN HOPKINS....TOM INGLESBY

Dr. Thomas Inglesby, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, warned that the U.S. is "still at the beginning" of the coronavirus outbreak, and outlined five conditions that must be met before the country should consider relaxing social distancing practices.

“(1)When we see a state or region have numbers that go down over time,
(2) and when we have diagnostics in place,
(3) and when we have masks available for all of our doctors and nurses who are putting their lives at risk to take care of sick patients,
(4) and hospitals are well-prepared,
(5) and when we can get our public health systems in place to start tracing or identifying individuals and start tracing their contacts, again like they do in Asia ---

I think those five major conditions --- then I think it’s a time to begin to think about how we might experiment with lightening social distancing, perhaps one step at a time.”

So maybe it was a good thing that the Feds sent all of those medical supplies to China, back in February?
This just does not sound like 17 tons, which is what we parted with just as we ourselves were on the brink of disaster.

I'm reduced to 2 containers of Lysol Wipes. I started with 4, thanks to the warnings here to stock up. If this lasts a long time, I will not have any either because they and Clorox Wipes appear to be two items that are not magically reappearing on the shelves or with the online options.

Well, I'm gonna guess you are beautiful, but I'm also gonna guess he is a creep. Way inappropriate at this time. I would take a shower, and then not worry too much. Or, call your doc.
This is why I love you. Lol.

I did watch the Pope’s special blessing and prayers. It was truly comforting in these troubled times.

I also watched it. It was amazing.

So enjoyed the movie "Babe" last night. (prime rental about 4 bucks). Anyone who wants a lovely timeout from this horrible situation....Babe is an answer. The pig who wanted to be a sheep dog. Kids will love it.

I love, love, love “Babe.” I took my Mom when it first came out...she was in her 80’s. Don’t miss the singing mice in a lower corner of the screen...Blue moon...priceless!
