Our state has banned over night camping in state parks/campgrounds. Idk what people living in RVs will do.
Exec order signed to release state prison inmates.
186 will be released due to cdc guidelines, they are considered at risk of contracting Covid, must be screened prior to release, need residence & must quarantine 14 days.
(This sucks cuz it only means they are covid free that day)
743 other state inmates also coming out from other populations. Almost 1,000 state prisoners, free on our streets.

That's just nuts!

Family member who works for a very large health care provider says new mandate today states all staff and patients must be screened to rule out raised body temp before entering any of their facilities, which includes hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, clinics, etc.
My sister works at a long-term care facility and was sent home on Mon with temp of 99.7. However, they've been taking temps for weeks and hers always runs 99.3 and above (they even suggested she stop drinking her morning coffee!). She missed 2 days of work while HR decided what to do about her. She had/has absolutely no symptoms. I hope they will pay her for the 2 days lost, she has not been at this job long enough to build sick leave.

The UK plans to issue coronavirus 'immunity passports' so Brits can leave the lockdown early

The UK plans to roll out "immunity passports" to Brits who have already contracted the COVID-19 disease in order to allow them to return to "normal life," the Health Secretary Matt Hancock said on Thursday.

"We are looking at an immunity certificate," Hancock told a Downing Street press conference.

"How people who have had the disease have got the antibodies and then have immunity can show that and therefore get back as much as possible to normal life,"
...
This is so appealing, because we all want to transition back to normal - reopening schools and businesses, while supporting the vulnerable as they continue to isolate until vaccines and good treatments show up. I hope it is backed by science. Like, when do these folks stop shedding viable virus?

I'm so sorry, your heart is heavy.

I had those overwhelming feeling Monday. After, Sundays WH presser and more days of not seeing my grandkids, I sobbed off and on all day.

Sometimes maybe what the body needs is a release, crying can help.

Have you checked local resources, message boards, FB, etc, some civic groups are shopping and delivering food or meals.

In Virginia even the militia groups are in on the action of helping others. They've partnered with the Salvation Army....who would have ever thought..

Alleghany County's M3 Militia deliver food to shut-ins

So with social distancing leaving some stuck at home without the chance to get food, they swung into action with a call to Sheriff Kevin Hall.

“When this came about, Corey Clark, he called me up and he said: Hey, I’ve got a business that wants to give 25 meals tonight, can you all give me a list of names of people that really need them,” Hall explained.

The program took off, starting with 25 meals last week, but ballooning to more than 200. They needed a little administrative help.

That’s where the Salvation Army comes in.

“We are in social services all year. We do this, people come to us for food, for clothing, for utility assistance," said Maj. Robin Hackbarth of the Salvation Army. "So we’re very, well, have the ability to take on this task.”

I completely imploded Monday over grandchildren as well. By Tuesday late afternoon my BP was high and I'm on meds. I'm very sensitive to high BP and had to take a little extra of my meds Tuesday night. My poor, beleaguered cardiologist got me called back Wednesday late morning. "Yeah, getting a lot of blood pressure calls here".

Copying Germany. Germany announced this yesterday. Seems like the UK govt is keen to start looking more efficient. They should get the tests rolled out first.

:D:D:D I need to practise some of those moves :D:D:D

Did you see Jack Black’s dance moves?? I think they’re pretty good! I’d take a hip out if I tried those moves. But I was thinking maybe I could try to learn it in a low impact version. Seriously!! Wouldn’t that be funny if we all learned this dance:

Maybe after your achy legs get better.

Does anything help? Hot towels? Bath? I guess it just has to run it’s course but you’re almost there!!!

Hold your head high, Capt. Brett Crozier. Think of the lives you saved. Another hero.

"The official reason for Crozier's relief of duty is a loss of trust and confidence, according to the officials who spoke to NBC News"
Really. For protecting his crew by reaching out to whoever would listen? They have no trust and confidence in him? SMH.

I wonder how they will know for sure that the person had the disease. Just an antibody test doesn`t indicate that for sure. A positive antibody test just means that they were exposed to the disease. We probably all know people who test positive for TB, but that doesn`t mean they ever had TB or are immune to it, just that they were around it at some time in their life.

Wouldn`t a persistent virus shedder also show a positive antibody test (question mark)

(Pardon my keyboard. It has gone into French.

it will be worse by end of next week imo.
I've started looking. Very low supplies in San diego.

Hi all
I just tried to order my favorite beans, corn, cucumber & squash from different providers. Never in 45 years of seeding, sowing, propagating, transplanting have I ever seen page after page of the horrifying words ‘SOLD OUT’!! Any of y’all who can grow your own, if it isn’t in a catalogue, try your local feed and seed store. Not sure what they’re called anywhere else. Stay safe, stay strong— I am now officially scared. Bottle, please, make it swift! ;/

At this point, nothing required for achy legs hurrah!! Last couple of days I just had a hot water bottle just to ease it, to save the painkiller supplies.

I dont know if my aches were worse because low Vit D causes aches in me anyway. So hopefully most people wont be so bothered by them.

ETA love Jack Black! How did I nearly forget to mention him

Women are using code words at pharmacies to escape domestic violence - CNN
...
As the coronavirus pandemic forces countries everywhere to take unprecedented steps to restrict the movement of their citizens, victims of domestic violence have suddenly found themselves trapped at home with their abusive partners. Some are unable -- or too afraid -- to call the police, experts say.

So France, inspired by a similar scheme in Spain, has started telling victims to head to drugstores. If they can't talk openly in the store, they can simply say the codeword "mask 19" to the pharmacist behind the counter. The woman in Nancy was the first to seek help since the government launched the initiative last week, the spokesperson for Marlene Schiappa, the French minister for equality, told CNN.

Fyi: our Gov’ asked people to refrain from cooking for nurses & other front line staff. Stay home, eat your own stuff, in other words. Don’t be out delivering food from your kitchen. (I completely get this they’d have no idea where the stuff originated)

So I noticed that both this morning and yesterday morning, that right when I woke up and hadn’t even opened my eyes yet that I had this awful heavy feeling of what I only know how to describe as deep depression. I was barely even awake, yet I could feel this awful depressed heavy feeling. Of course I’ve experienced depression before this, but just noting that the “ick” is really peeking it’s head out again. I look forward so much to coming here and reading everyone’s posts because it really really makes me feel better.

Now I’m crying LOL.

I think no yoga, been cooped up in here, stress, dread, worry for my family who are elderly and health workers is starting to take a toll. I feel sick.

So, I really have to be aware that this “invisible depression monster” is trying to get under me. I’m going to have to consciously fight this monster it seems. This means, as I’ve talked about before, really doing positive things to bring joy and help resume some sense of normalcy. I’ve been in the house for a month so no wonder I’m starting to lose it.

Goals: Clean and get house back in order.

Some of you may recall from the early days when I said I had a home issue which was going to require workers in the house and everyone advised against it unless it was an emergency. Well here is the deal - I was in the middle of planning to move to a new house. :(. But no way I was going to risk movers and a moving truck.

Anyway that all went to crap and I’m stuck here now, which is okay, but I was half packed, living out of boxes so to speak.

So now I have to get settled back into my house. Which will make me feel better, because everything is in disarray.

Thanks is for letting me ramble and thanks everyone for being here.

It’s so important remember during these emotional episodes that there is so much to be grateful for. I have so much. Others had no warning to get themselves food and supplies...

I’m financially stressed too. We all are.

Boohoo.

It really is a rollercoaster, isn’t it. I’m so glad we have this thread. Sending you a socially distanced interwebs {{{hug}}}
