I don't generally get stressed and I do have depression issues. I have work to do so that helps distract me whenever I can get my mind under control. At times my mind is out in left field. You folks have been great. I feel bad whining because I am not in the heavy hit states like New York, CA , WA and MI. I have no support at home so I get overwhelmed and stressed. My husband thinks I am looney and I guess I am.

Well looks like this planned move isn’t happening. (Massachusetts)
Report: Beaumont nursing home transition to COVID-19 center now on hold

The planned transition of Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center into a COVID-19 recovery center has been delayed, according to the Boston Globe.

The paper is reporting that a resident of Beaumont tested positive for the virus. As a result, the relocation of some residents is on hold, the paper reported, citing the son of a patient.

No more looney than me. Own it, lol. :)

Kensie, Please remember that the VAST Majority of people DO survive Corona!

You might get sick for a week or so, slow recovery but you will survive this in all likelyhood!

YES! We need to keep reminding each other of this, even a definitive diagnosis is NOT a death sentence.

On a more personal note - if you have plastic disposable grocery bags, use these as gloves. I know I am at home to retrieve mail from mailbox, to pick up and carry package deliveries inside my home, etc. Tie a scarf, handkerchief, bandanna around your face if that will make you feel more comfortable. This is not a time to be overly concerned with our appearances. Mental health is as important as physical health.
Please let us know how your shopping trip goes and check back in with us once safely home. We care!

I have tended to depression all my adult life. I find myself slipping as the evening goes on. Yesterday's news of 100,000 to 200,000 dead was shocking.

I have rules. I must get up, and tend to hygiene. Dress appropriately. Eat food from a proper dish, and clean the kitchen. No shortcuts. It helps me.

I go to Publix rather than Wmt now. I feel Publix is cleaner and more orderly.

I think of what our ancestors endured. We'll get through this.

Aw, Hon, today I awoke from my depression and believe I'm able to see things for what they really are. I believe some of our biggest enemies are stress and depression. With a bit of care, we should be fine.

Good Morning all. I am getting super scared and really down.
The cases and deaths in my state are really increasing.
I have to go to the store today - no gloves and no mask.
I am scared. I am going to go to Publix instead of Walmart since the last time I went to
Walmart the crowd was like Christmas time.

I know that we are all scared and you folks have been a comfort to me.
Although in a different country I was worried when I went and apprehensive on the drive in but was pleasantly surprised. It was way less crowded than normal and I was able to keep my distance. Take care.

Oh gosh this just doesn’t surprise me. Just a few weeks ago most people I heard chatting or that I tried to discuss this with at work (Hospital) kinda rolled their eyes and “its just like the flu. Just like the SARS and Ebola scares”. “See you next week I’m going to Florida for a few days vaca ”
Needless to say im not hearing that much anymore. And people are scared. Frontline workers. You can see it in their eyes. Still a few stubborn hold outs though. ~shrug~

If anyone would like a separate thread set up (example: Face Mask sewing, Recipes, or anything else) please reach out to me and I will help put together a thread to include past posts. Thanks.
Great idea @JerseyGirl. Tysm for all the hard work you’re doing on the threads. I’m sure the stress factor for you is over the moon considering the stats. Hopefully, this is not adding to your stress.

That is so sad. With the family's permission I wonder if that would be a good thing to have at the end of the Public Service Announcement TV commercials that are popping up now. At the very end after their messages, they could rotate through some pictures of a few of the younger victims and list their age. That would be a powerful message to the public and it may help some take it more seriously than they have been.
Ita and more info on the vector sector. Some people want to mold the directives to fit their wishes. We all know school was cancelled to keep children home, out of the public. Yet many feel their child is safe and can’t possibly be carrying a deadly virus, let alone catch it. Moo

By now it may be less crowded. People have been stocking up for weeks now where I live so there is barely anything left on the shelves.
You can wear a scarf or bandana if you don't have anything else. Use an alcohol or Clorox wipe for the cart if you have one and wash your hands as soon as you can after you leave. You can bring a bottle of water and some soap with you and wash your hands as soon as you get back to your car.

Kensie if you have a scarf wear that-and if you have plastic baggies-use those for your hands, or as someone suggested-the produce bags. Use your shirt to handle the grocery produce bads to pull off the roll.

Coronavirus Update (Live): 885,689 Cases and 44,216 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Outbreak - Worldometer

This is a good link to up to date statistics.

This shows how many recovered. Then you can view by country.

Coronavirus Cases:
885,689
view by country
Deaths:
44,216
Recovered:
185,226

I was looking at those numbers a little while ago. This is such a new, and long, illness it will take awhile for the "recovered" section to really start showing progress. Jmo

Coronavirus: 563 more people die with COVID-19 in UK - bringing total to 2,352

Another 563 people have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus - bringing the total number of deaths to 2,352.

The deaths happened in the 24 hours before 5pm on Tuesday, the Department of Health said.

It is the largest increase so far.

Scotland reported another 16 deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total to 76.

In Wales, 29 more people have died, with the country's total now at 98.

Yes I just saw this. That's more than a 30% increase.
I was expecting it to be more than 2k but this could mean over 3k by tomorrow, if it stays at 30% daily increase. Here's the BBC report.

Further increase in UK virus deaths

"The BBC's head of statistics Robert Cuffe said the latest increases in the number of patients dying with coronavirus balance out with the below-average rises seen on Sunday and Monday.

"On average, over the last week, the number of new deaths has been growing just below a quarter every day - or doubling twice in a week," he said.

"That's slightly slower than earlier in the epidemic but if that keeps up, we'd expect to see in the region of a thousand deaths a day by the weekend.

"The scientific community is still warning that it takes time for the effect of measures like social distancing to feed through into the numbers on death. On average, those who died in the last few days were infected before the lockdown began." "

A thousand deaths a day by the weekend. OMG.

I’m having a tough day today - taking a real dip on the emotional rollercoaster. Seeing these latest numbers was a punch in the stomach. I keep thinking of the families and friends left behind and how on earth do they cope because they can’t even grieve the way they would’ve in the pre-virus world. I hate this.

For you folks struggling with this start a journal. Get it out on paper. And of course we are here for you. Never feel guilty about your feelings. There are going to be good days and bad days. Spring is coming and we soon can be outside on our decks/yards/walks. I look forward to sitting on the deck reading. We plan to drive to friends and have a driveway visit. We will likely see more friends than we ever did.

Oh Lordy...it's crazy keeping up with this thread. And the further along the world goes into the COVID odyssey, the more vital it becomes to read EVERY. SINGLE. POST. Or, most of them, not falling under "scroll & roll".

On that note, here in my neck of the woods, the local prison when the ex is residing, just had 3 positive COVID cases reported.

Kansas prison system sees 1st coronavirus cases in 3 workers

Needless to say, I emailed the prison liason, as this directly affects myself and my adult DD.
