“South Africa security forces fire rubber bullets at people defying coronavirus stay-at-home orders
South Africa has some of the toughest coronavirus lockdown regulations in the world but enforcing them is not easy. The country has more than 1,300 reported cases, the most of any country in Africa, and authorities are worried the virus could spread in poorer areas.

Security forces are firing rubber bullets at those defying orders to stay at home in an attempt to clear the streets, parks and anywhere people are gathered illegally.

The lockdown has also laid bare the enduring fault lines in South Africa of poverty and race in places like the township of Alexandra in Johannesburg, one of the nation's poorest communities, CBS News foreign correspondent Debora Patta reports.”

Does anyone know why?

Spain's death toll from coronavirus has risen by a record amount for the second day in a row with cases now over 100,000 as the crisis shows no sign of slowing.

The country registered 864 new deaths between Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing the total from 8,189 to 9,053.

The number of new infections rose by 7,719, jumping from 94,417 on Tuesday to 102,136 at the same time Wednesday.

Update Rev. Tony Spell, Life Tabernacle Church, Central, LA:
Please, someone, put this guy in jail.

"Spell added that government authorities were throwing away the nation's Constitution under a "COVID hoax" that hasn't had the level of medical toll and death that, he says, experts had initially predicted would happen at this point. He called the fears about the virus a "politically motivated scheme to shut the doors on America's churches and we refuse to shut our doors."

Central pastor holds service hours after arrest on violating governor's stay-at-home order
Maybe Rev. Spell needs to use his "healing powers" inside hospitals where people are fighting for their lives. Once he sees this scene, he will change his tune (but probably not).... Maybe his calling should be being the 'David' to this ''Goliath'. If he wants to make a statement, this would be the route to go; not putting people's lives in danger! I attend church (when services are not on hold), am a Christian, but we are given common sense for a reason and we must use it. Our Maker does not just live in Rev. Spells Tabernacle!

Bringing this forward from the last thread:

“After some coaxing, she learned a hacker named "MoLester" joined the class chat and showed 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 to the children and their teacher.”

[...]

The I-Team found stories of “Zoombombing” as it's called unfolding across the country from local schools to colleges to city council meetings.
Some districts have even asked teachers to use a different platform altogether.”

[...]

“So, what security steps can a host impose?

-Use a random meeting ID and not a personal one.
-Enable the Waiting Room feature to decide on who can enter the meeting.
-Lock the meeting after it starts so no one else can jump in.
-Disable File Sharing
-Only allow the host to have control of screen sharing.”

[...]

“Microsoft Teams is "in-network", which will make it easier for IT to prevent future hacks.”

I-TEAM: Hacker gained access to CSRA middle school Zoom chat and showed 🤬🤬🤬🤬 to students
Sounds like the issues have more to do with the number of new users who are just jumping in before reading about their meeting preferences, and how to enable various options, IMO. I have a tendency to do that myself, and only resort to the "how to"videos if I run into a problem... SO I hope these reports don't dissuade folks from reaching out and connecting to others online.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The U.S. Coast Guard has directed all cruise ships to remain at sea where they may be sequestered “indefinitely” during the coronavirus pandemic and be prepared to send any severely ill passengers to the countries where the vessels are registered.

The rules, which apply to any vessel carrying more than 50 people, were issued in a March 29 safety bulletin signed by Coast Guard Rear Admiral E.C. Jones, whose district includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico

Gov Cuomo presser live MSNBC- Closing down neighborhood playgrounds since compliance of social distancing still not happening by those seeking the parks for swings, basketball courts, etc. He says he tried to ask for compliance and warned of this happening. Open spaces will still be available.

"As a society we should start looking forward to how this experience is going to change us/ or should change us. This will be a transformative experience. We don't get back to normal - we get to a new normal. Let's take the positive lessons and not the negative lessons with us. We must learn and grow."

Honestly this has totally freaked me out and I don’t want to do zoom now. :(

The way I look at it is if education systems are advising other platforms, then I should look into other options. If there’s a whole thing called “zoombombing”...

Are the security steps outlined in my original post sufficient? I’m all paranoid now. I don’t want anything to do with it. Thanks for any input.

“Siegel said fresh produce should be washed even more thoroughly once it's in your house. He also cautioned that the virus can live on frozen and refrigerated food containers even more effectively than on produce.

He advised people to make sure to wash their hands after touching the products.”

No wonder fast food workers are getting Covid, most items are frozen, or boxed in cardboard, right?
