The way I look at it is if education systems are advising other platforms, then I should look into other options. If there’s a whole thing called “zoombombing”...

Liberty University re-opens. Then students start getting sick. It is located in Lynchburg, VA, and the citizens are furious.

"After initial publication of this article, the university said it had asked four students who returned from the New York area and two of their roommates to self-quarantine, but none of them were referred for testing and none had symptoms. One student who returned from a county with a high number of cases was running a fever and had a cough. He was tested and elected to go home pending the results rather than self-isolate, the university said."

I’m having a tough day today - taking a real dip on the emotional rollercoaster. Seeing these latest numbers was a punch in the stomach. I keep thinking of the families and friends left behind and how on earth do they cope because they can’t even grieve the way they would’ve in the pre-virus world. I hate this.

(((( CCC ))) Hang in there, with us. We have each other and what an awesome support group this is. Take a deep breath and try (easier to say than do) to not think of the "what if" Try to find some date in the future (holiday, personal holiday, etc) and envision how you will celebrate.
I've told my girls, be prepared, next Christmas may be tuna melts and stockings full of PPE (I'm really stocked on some things! Other things, not so much) Their responses? We don't care! I believe this is one of those life lessons that is going to totally humble us everyone and we'll be so thankful for the love of family and friends and just the basics once this is over.
I say this realizing that it will take a miracle for me to not personally lose some of my family, I don't even bother to try to talk reason to them any longer. I just listen and love them. I can't change anyone else's behavior or belief. I tried, didn't work. My responsibility at present is to take care of myself, so I may take care of them if needed once this is over.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The U.S. Coast Guard has directed all cruise ships to remain at sea where they may be sequestered “indefinitely” during the coronavirus pandemic and be prepared to send any severely ill passengers to the countries where the vessels are registered.



The rules, which apply to any vessel carrying more than 50 people, were issued in a March 29 safety bulletin signed by Coast Guard Rear Admiral E.C. Jones, whose district includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico

Began the quarantine on March 15.
2 weeks later,
Still have cases where individuals become ill sooner
and other cases of individuals whose respiratory symptoms progressed to pnemonia and then they sought medical attention?
6 week recovery for some.

OMG. Many cruise ships are registered in third world countries because of cost. Can you imagine being ill and taken to who knows where?

Absolutely heartbreaking and only makes me want to stay home even more. The thought of not being by my children’s side if god forbid they ended up with this virus is terrifying.

For you folks struggling with this start a journal. Get it out on paper. And of course we are here for you. Never feel guilty about your feelings. There are going to be good days and bad days. Spring is coming and we soon can be outside on our decks/yards/walks. I look forward to sitting on the deck reading. We plan to drive to friends and have a driveway visit. We will likely see more friends than we ever did.

I have been journaling for much of my life, writing on paper. I have been keeping an e-journal since last December 1. I like that I can do a "find" search in the document for a word. When I searched for "virus," the first mention was the following (edited by me):

"Thursday 2.6.20
[DH] got up with a sore throat. He ... is not feeling good. He’s mostly been lying on the couch ... I’m worried he is coming down with a cold or something (coronavirus?? haha). The sore throat went away after drinking coffee and eating the oatmeal I cooked for our breakfast."

The "haha" jumps out at me. I obviously was aware of the virus but was not taking it very seriously yet.

Coronavirus: 14 more deaths and 212 new cases in Ireland confirmed

HEALTH OFFICIALS HAVE confirmed a further 14 deaths from the Covid-19 virus and 212 new cases.

Of those 14 new reported deaths, eight of those patients were reported to have had an underlying condition.

Seven of the patients were female, seven were male.

10 patients were located in the east, four were located in the south.

It brings to 85 the number of deaths from Covid-19 in Ireland; the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases now stands at 3, 447.

The HSE is now working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to prevent further spread.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has analysed Ireland’s total cases as midnight of Monday (when there were 2,990 cases). They found:

• 48% are male and 50% are female, with 134 clusters involving 563 cases
• Median age of confirmed cases is 48 years
• 834 cases (28%) have been hospitalised
• Of those hospitalised, 126 cases have been admitted to ICU
• 752 cases (25%) are associated with healthcare workers
• Dublin has the highest number of cases at 1,645 (55% of all cases) followed by Cork with 255 cases (8%)
• Of those for whom transmission status is known: community transmission accounts for 60%, close contact accounts for 21%, travel abroad accounts for 18%

Wow, my DH and I were on a Zoom event last night and after about an hour, "Zoom-bombing" happened. We didn't know that's what it was, but we left the meeting at that point because of the weirdness. (no tho)

Most have only crew aboard, but several still carry passengers and are steaming toward South Florida ports. Carnival notified the SEC Tuesday that it has more than 6,000 passengers still at sea.”

Carnival has 6,000 passengers still at sea, that number does not include crew.

And that’s just Carnival numbers.
