Wow, my DH and I were on a Zoom event last night and after about an hour, "Zoom-bombing" happened. We didn't know that's what it was, but we left the meeting at that point because of the weirdness. (notho)
Omg I just had two guys pull in my drive selling high dollar cleaning products. I was out back and walked around front, caught off guard. They would not leave, I threatened to call 911, finally they sped off.
I don't see why you couldn't use your hand sanitizer on your gloves.
Honestly this has totally freaked me out and I don’t want to do zoom now.
The way I look at it is if education systems are advising other platforms, then I should look into other options. If there’s a whole thing called “zoombombing”...
Are the security steps outlined in my original post sufficient? I’m all paranoid now. I don’t want anything to do with it. Thanks for any input.
“So, what security steps can a host impose?
-Use a random meeting ID and not a personal one.
-Enable the Waiting Room feature to decide on who can enter the meeting.
-Lock the meeting after it starts so no one else can jump in.
-Disable File Sharing
-Only allow the host to have control of screen sharing.”

I can't believe 6000 people got on cruises during this. Poor Florida.
Oh, wait. Yes, I can believe it, since apparently people just can't stay home.

I'm so sorry that you have this added personal worry.Oh Lordy...it's crazy keeping up with this thread. And the further along the world goes into the COVID odyssey, the more vital it becomes to read EVERY. SINGLE. POST. Or, most of them, not falling under "scroll & roll".
On that note, here in my neck of the woods, the local prison when the ex is residing, just had 3 positive COVID cases reported.

Needless to say, I emailed the prison liason, as this directly affects myself and my adult DD.
I have a friend who was planning a cruise in mid-March. Could not be dissuaded. She never did change her mind; the cruise company cancelled. I have to bite my tongue to not remind her she could be bobbing around in the middle of the ocean, eating Ramen noodles.
