What you need to do to get your government stimulus check

I DIDN’T USE DIRECT DEPOSIT ON MY TAXES, WHAT CAN I DO?

The government will default to sending you the check by mail if you did not use direct deposit.

However, IRS and Treasury say that they will develop an online portal in the coming weeks for individuals to provide their banking information so that they can receive the payments immediately instead of in the mail. It has not yet set a deadline for updating that information.

Update Rev. Tony Spell, Life Tabernacle Church, Central, LA:
Please, someone, put this guy in jail.

"Spell added that government authorities were throwing away the nation's Constitution under a "COVID hoax" that hasn't had the level of medical toll and death that, he says, experts had initially predicted would happen at this point. He called the fears about the virus a "politically motivated scheme to shut the doors on America's churches and we refuse to shut our doors."

Central pastor holds service hours after arrest on violating governor's stay-at-home order
Maybe they need to get creative with this guy. Is there a national figure/politician/evangelist this guy trusts? Maybe someone can give him a call and put the fear of God into him. JMO

Does anyone know why?
Being Spanish, I’d assume it’s a cultural inability to self-isolate & refusal to socially distance themselves. My relatives are just on border of Basque Territories & the whole Spanish tapas/bars mentality would be difficult to control in the cities.

My worry here in Cajun land is that on my grocery run—no toilet paper or corn tortillas, I see people walking in groups next to each other, 4-6 cars in front of many houses—& now, with Good Friday coming up—crawfish boils. Everything shuts down, everyone congregates, whole families, & their extended, never nuclear kin & friends & hangers-on. Well, I’d be shocked if the numbers for rural Southern Louisiana didn’t rise significantly afterwards.

As for that insane pastor, ~#%€£**¥ the less said the better. He should be arrested for domestic terrorism. He must not have learned mathematics in school, assuming he’s even been in one. ‘Whatcha gonna do ‘bout ya people, sha?’

Although I feel absolutely terrible for those people stuck on those ships, I have to be honest and say that I don’t want them docked in the state I live in, Florida.

Our governor still will not lock down our state. My county is on lock down as are a few others...but this was done by the mayors of those areas, not by the governor. South Florida is filled with many elderly people that will never have a chance if bringing in all these infected people there. It will then spread like wildfire throughout the state.

Just a small tip for those clenching their teeth when stressed. Push your tongue to the roof of your mouth. May save a headache and sore jaws.

For parents and carers in need of a bit of magic to get through teaching and entertaining children in lockdown, don't worry - help is at hand from Hogwarts itself.

Author JK Rowling has unveiled Harry Potter At Home, a digital hub to provide entertainment for youngsters during the coronavirus pandemic.

Guam is about a mile long. The Navy is currently building a tent to house the sailors with the virus.
Guam is a tad bit bigger than that...

It is 30 miles (50 kilometers) long and 4 to 12 miles (6 to 19 kilometers) wide, giving it an area of 212 square miles (549 square kilometers)
Guam - Wikipedia

Our military base is about a third of the island.

Why does US media insist on describing Guam as tiny?

It's also been building up it's infrastructure as 5,000 marines are scheduled to relocate to Guam in the next couple of years. That would obviously include housing of various sorts. They should have capacity.

Do you haven a bandana or a scarf, that you could tie kind of like a bandit? That works too...:p

Wear a hat, sunglasses, a bandana over your mouth, and you are more protected than before.
We all need burkas!

Coronavirus: 'Concerning' rise in car journeys as people urged to stay at home

A "concerning" rise in car journeys has sparked fresh warnings for people to stay at home during the coronavirus lockdown.

Dr Yvonne Doyle, medical director of Public Health England, revealed motor vehicle usage in Britain has jumped to around a third of usual levels.

Despite a gradual drop off to 27% on Sunday, the number leaped by 10% to 37% the following day.

Bus and underground journeys in London also rose, but National Rail train usage dipped slightly compared to the latest figures.

Speaking at the daily Downing Street briefing, Dr Doyle said that while "most people" are following the rules to stay at home "everyone needs to do that" because "we need to save lives and protect the NHS" during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Good article, thanks.

Snippet:

“Many nurses say they are terrified of passing on the disease inadvertently to loved ones; several nurses’ family members have tested positive. It is unclear whether the nurses were carriers of the virus and difficult for them to find out.

Mr. Mathew’s biggest fear: “I suspect we are now vectors.””

[...]

“A co-worker told Ms. Norstein on Sunday that they are no longer to do chest compressions to resuscitate Covid-19 patients because it uses lots of protective gear and puts workers at greater risk than chemical resuscitations. Ms. Sheridan-Gonzalez, the union president, said she heard from other nurses who corroborated that it has become an “unspoken rule.”

“The situation is disgusting,” she said. Nurses and doctors said they want to provide all the care but find themselves hobbled by the lack of gear.

Ms. Norstein’s unit had become unrecognizably messy. Paper bags hung on walls with nurses’ names on them, holding their reused masks. IV poles and bedside tables, piled with gauze pads and syringes, cluttered the hallway, moved outside patients’ rooms so they wouldn’t be contaminated.

Floors were often unmopped, and sometimes the garbage wasn’t taken out, because cleaning staff were scared of going into Covid-19 patients’ rooms without protection, she said: “My biggest concern is that the patients are not going to get the quality of care that I would like to have if I get this disease.””
I can confirm, it’s not a rumor, nurses and doctors are being retrained not to do chest compressions and to code Covid patients differently. They are being told this is because their lives come before the patients because there’s not enough PPE. My granddaughter works in Louisville, an ICU nurse. She too has thought of leaving if she has to make an ethical decision against her former training and beliefs.
Healthcare professionals are human beings who have to live with what they are capable of doing. So in a sense, they are indeed in a war. MOO.
