I receive SS but I also have a supplemental income because SS is hardly enough to cover monthly expenses. I no longer have that supplemental income because of the virus.

If the maximum allowed household income to receive a pandemic relief cheque is $149,999US, then it seems like something is wrong with this picture. Isn't the money for people who can't pay rent and food without their monthly income?

That's the threshold for a full check, 2 joint filers. The opportunity for any check at all goes down the closer those 2 people get to 198k. I just briefly looked this up, it doesn't apply to me so I don't want to spend time learning about it. The money is primarily to jolt the economy. We got these stimulus checks during the great recession too, either 2009 or 2010.

It all catches up. I've never not worked, from age sixteen to this year, 74, when I closed my little self employment gig. I've had friends who laid awake nights trying to get things free year after year, they ended up doing ok, you just can't worry about all of that. But I'm a gray panther now, you betcha.

I have also worked for many many decades - full time. Never thought of unemployment benefits. I like clothes, make-up, shoes and jewelry. I have to work because at home I don't put much effort into my appearance and 90 percent of the time I enjoy work.

This entitlement age thingy is getting old. Of course when I was a teen there were no laptops, cellphones, online games , Netflix - I was thrilled to get out of the house and get a job.

It has been good for me, I get to work a lot earlier without the overhead of getting ready,
going to Dunkin Donuts, fighting traffic.

I will enjoy working from home while it lasts. My husband has worked from home for like 5 years and he asked me if I miss the social aspect. I had to remind him that I am an introvert .

I posted this earlier but it’s worth repeating. This article has projections on what state will hit its peak when. I was right about my own state. I’m a little iffy on the projection for KY. But I’m certainly no expert.

I just watched the interview with the Dr Gabrin's husband breaking his heart on CNN it was extremely emotional and very difficult to watch. It makes you so angry that the healthcare workers do not have the protection they need all over the world.

China has reported that all new cases are returning travellers. Have you noticed that in photos of the first epicentre today, everyone seems to be young and wearing a new face-mask. There seems to be ongoing temperature testing still today. I don't think it's finished. I think people in some age groups, perhaps people who have the antibodies, have rejoined the work force.

I think China wants to be the first country to declare that they have conquered the virus. I think they will manipulate the information to give the appearance that they are the first.

I'll make it simple. They are lying. There is no way their numbers have dropped to almost zero so quick. JMO

@gregjrichards I watched the devastated husband on Cuomo too. Awful. I wish Chris’s show was live on FB so everyone hears him describe his symptoms.
