We can get pharmacies to deliver here in UK and we have automatic repeat prescriptions. We still collect ours but haven't needed to replenish yet since our lockdown. Two weeks meds left ATM.

Although this is a Canadian site, it might be useful not only for retired medical personnel thinking of returning to work to help out during the CV crisis, but it may be useful for anyone to learn about the basics, imo, fwiw.

A made-in-Toronto website can help doctors conscripted for ICU duty brush up on their skills
April 5 2020
''Despite all the time that has elapsed and her very limited experience in critical care, Wong — and legions of other non-ICU health-care workers across Canada — can expect to soon find themselves on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, caring for the sickest of patients''.

''Titled “Quick ICU Training for COVID-19,” the website is essentially a how-to guide for health-care professionals whose regular jobs don’t involve treating patients in life-threatening condition from a highly contagious and potentially deadly infectious disease.''

CVS opens coronavirus testing site in Atlanta

CVS said in a news release the site at Georgia Tech will be capable of testing up to 1,000 people per day, but patients must be pre-registered and have a scheduled appointment. Tests are being administered only for patient who meet Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Patients can pre-register online at CVS.com. The tests will be made available free to all patients who receive registration, regardless of insurance status.

Dr. Troyen Brennan, chief medical officer for CVS, said the Georgia Tech testing site will operate five drive-through lanes. The company is deploying Abbott ID Now testing devices that can return results within minutes.
This hopefully will be the new normal around the country in weeks to come.

Results within minutes? I heard this is done in
South Korea but not here, 4-5 days people wait here. I hope all labs can now have speedy tests and that speedy tests will also become the new normal.

Article left an important part out, does anybody know this? It says:

"Tests are being administered only for patients who meet Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines."

What are these guidelines? Isn't it the whole point that asymptomatic people get tested and if positive quarantine themselves?

Boris Johnson in 'good spirits' in hospital

"Boris Johnson says he is in "good spirits" after spending the night in hospital with coronavirus.

The PM was taken to St Thomas' Hospital in London on Sunday evening with "persistent symptoms" - including a temperature and a cough - for routine tests.

He remains in charge of government, although Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab chaired Monday's coronavirus meeting.

Mr Johnson, 55, tested positive for coronavirus 10 days ago.

In a tweet, he said he was "keeping in touch with my team as we work together to fight this virus and keep everyone safe".

He also thanked the "brilliant NHS staff" taking care of him and other patients, adding: "You are the best of Britain".

The prime minister's official spokesman said he remained in hospital "under observation", and described Russian reports that Mr Johnson had been placed on a ventilator as "disinformation" "

Many New Yorkers have sought temporary rental homes in the rural area in PA in which I live, but I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to stay.

I remember the exodus out of NYC after 911.

Wonder if people living in densely populated areas now will want to move to more rural areas when this over.

My sister is wishing she didn’t live in London right now. Aside from general social problems, busy transport and commuting time, this lockdown has her yearning for the fields and countryside where we grew up. It’s dawned on her the city salary and all that entails comes at a bigger personal cost. I imagine many city dwellers will be feeling the same way.

IMO this is where the new mask wearing protocol comes in. It will keep asymptomatic people from spreading the disease. I think at this point we should operate on the theory that everyone has it and proceed from there. Big Moo.

My biggest concern right now, is what happens when we say we are “open again”. Will employees be expected to start hopping on flights across the country/world again, millions reconvene in tight work spaces, companies hold large conferences and employee meetings bringing together employees across the country or world? Will casinos fill again, public pools overflow, and families hold huge celebration cook outs and gatherings? Will our sudden behaviors of “getting back to normal” be the flood gate that takes this pandemic to the next level/phase?

I sure hope not. In reading about the 1918 pandemic, the second and third wave of illness are attributed to too early reopening of society. We must learn from the past.

My dogs have had Corona viruses for years. But not covid19, which evidently the tiger has. Moo how have cats had a “novel” virus for years?
We have all had a type of Corona as well, due to a common cold. Moo.
Linked info written prior to tiger news.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
No, the fact that felines have corona virus is NOT the worst news ever. From what I've read cats have had it for several years prior to now.

As for it blowing through the air, well that is possible, other viruses/pneumonic plague seem to have done. However the "wrath" of which you speak is more likely of the Lord than a angry virus. IMO

There is so much frustration and sadness to process. Somehow we keep thinking a peak is coming, and life will soon return to normal. No, there's a downside of the peak until a vaccine is found (2021?). COVID19 will still be around, still be taking lives for all of 2020. Masks will still be used and venilators needed. The death count will continue. This is long term. Dig into the trenches.

I have been preparing myself that my life at the moment is going to be this way until there is a vaccine.

My understanding is the numbers will drop a lot early summer and we get a 10 week break. But the virus will still be floating around. Then it will rear it's ugly head again in September and last well into the holidays. Possibly longer.

My husband and I are already discussing preparations for a second wave.

yup. My circle & I are prepping for third & fourth. I’ve heard the fourth will hit the rural areas, idk. I think someone on CNN might have just mentioned rural areas will be hit last. Had blow dryer on, couldn’t hear well.
I think we have to realize nothing will likely be the same for the remainder of this year and perhaps much, much longer. Moo

And:
Louisiana pastor charged with violating ban on large gatherings holds church service for hundreds

A Louisiana pastor who was arrested last week for holding church services in defiance of a state ban on gatherings of more than 10 people reportedly held them again Sunday, with hundreds of parishioners turning out to his church near Baton Rouge.

An attorney for the pastor, Tony Spell, told Reuters that despite parishioners arriving in 26 buses, everyone but immediate family members maintained a distance of at least six feet.

I don’t know who is worse...the pastor holding this or the 26 bus loads of people going. No wonder LA is spreading so quickly!

That is awesome: i hope CVS will do this across the country:

I would rather Abbott Laboratories make the reagent system available for hospitals who need to screen sick people in the ER to determine whether they need the strict isolation precautions when being admitted.

And to determine if front-line healthcare providers have turned positive and have to be removed from the workforce and quarantined.

There is still a huge vacuum in having h0spitals do rapid COVID testing as all reagent systems are backlogged.
