ARKANSAS

854 positive cases
16 deaths

This is one of the states without the stay at home orders. They have restricted out of state travellers.

“Our projected numbers should be close to 3500, but we are well below that point at this moment"
AR positive cases lower than projections by Arkansas Department of Health | KNWA FOX24
Misleading numbers, imo. Don’t forget, contacts or anyone using the hotline are diagnosed as positive, based on symptoms they divulge during phone interview. Upthread or previous thread, I linked info pertaining to phone diagnoses. I think everyone does not need to be seen & if a patient that works at Kroger tested positive, his family phone in with the same symptoms, it is a given they too, are positive. Best to remain home rather than leave for testing, imo. (You can kinda play with the numbers, how many contacts might 854 people have, Jmo)

@BUF I hope Tony Spell has bodyguards & wears body armor.

Many of the numbers remain misleading as many people still cannot get tested.

Also the death totals are skewed because if the deceased had not tested positive they are not included in the count. They may not have been tested at all because of the reason above.

Back at work this morning in my "essential" office. We have work from home capabilities, but Mr. Bossman likes to micro-manage. Wonder what my co-workers did this weekend? I'm the only female in a world of men. I know that 3 went to Lowe's, and several others made grocery store runs. I stayed home. My neighborhood watch posted 30+ cars at the front of my neighborhood. They were gathering where a popular young man died (not of C-19). Police were called and would not disperse the crowd as it was on private property - I guess they believe when our SC governor says that SC is "unique". Bangs head against wall...

Nurse Daughter just sent me a pic from work. Hair covering, face shield, glasses, mask. Makes me feel better. Last I knew our Hospital has 2 weeks worth PPE. I hope that has changed or will in the next few days.

AND, the numbers may be midleading 'cause the old/compromised, as far as I've read, are the first to be hit and the last to be treated.

right, because they don’t meet guidelines or testing is not necessary. If one person in a family of five tests positive & the other four experience the same symptoms, they have it. If they have no symptoms, they should isolate along with the positive family member. Like Chris Cuomo’s family. They are not showing symptoms but possibly they are asymptomatic. Moo
I don’t believe any “low” numbers, frankly. We are told if your county has no cases it does not mean it’ is not there. Health department & gov’ officials know. Aggregated cell info, hotlines & online questionnaires provide much more data than nose swabs, imo. Otherwise, the gov’ would not know where medical equipment is needed. Moo
example:
Laura Bell Bundy tests positive for coronavirus

"I highly encourage everybody to stay inside," she urged. "My belief is that more people have this than they realize and could be carriers. I was tested, but many people can't get tested, my husband is not getting tested, so he's not going to be counted as someone who has this even though he does."

I feel for anyone working and wearing PPE. It is far from comfortable yet I understand it is necessary. Daughter normally works 4-12 hr. shifts and 5 days off. She has been working overtime and some shifts have been 14 hrs.

I agree. The death rate is much lower than stated.

Idk how any state would provide manpower to every “tested” positive person. In KY,a positive stay at home person gets a cell phone from the health department. They call the patient daily, maybe the phones are equipped with gps to be certain the patient is at a confirmed address.

Coronavirus: 10 public transport workers die after testing positive for COVID-19

Ten public transport workers have died in the capital after testing positive for coronavirus, the London mayor Sadiq Khan has said.

Mr Khan said they all died in the last few days, with eight being bus workers, one working for Transport for London and another working for London Underground.

"It reminds us actually, one of the heroic frontline workers are transport workers.

"We've got 25,000 bus drivers, more than 25,000 people who work for Transport for London, doing their best to keep public transport running for those essential key workers that need public transport to get from home to work and back home again.

"The NHS, those who work in our shops in the food sector, police officers, firefighters."

If Trudie lives with Tom, Dick & Harry, ( :):D) and Tom tests positive, then Dick & Harry get fevers and sore throats, testing them only depletes more PPE & risks transmission, imo. They can call the hotline, report their symptoms, advise they reside with a tested positive and receive a diagnosis, right? Testing would NOT change their treatment plan.
(Trudie’s hallucinating)

I think the info in post #15 is wise. If this is going to continue, many might be better off with a buddy. Hopefully everyone can get together with family or friend and isolate separately for 14 days, then stay together. Mentally it might prove beneficial for anyone highly fearful, anxious, lonely, etc.
