Here's a thought on testing positive after recovering from the corona virus - I test positive on TB tests. I do not have TB, nor did I ever. I was told the reason I test positive is because I was exposed to someone with the disease and this is true, my stepfather had it. My SIL also had the same odd test results for the same reason, although a different relative in his case. I'm wondering if testing positive after recovery could POSSIBLY be for the same reason.

I'm not a medical person at all, just found the positive TB tests and the positive corona tests interesting.
TB is spread by bacteria, not virus. A lot of people who are exposed don't go on developing actual TB, but they have so called latent TB. Sometimes latent TB can become active TB. Latent TB is not infectious, only active TB is.

That study is useless. Worse than that, any media pushing the study is dishonest (IMO). Any honest look at the actual study would cause anyone to discard it (IMO). The study is so bad the only explanation of it's existence is as part of a propaganda campaign against hydroxychloroquine rather than honest research(Fact).
  • It was not a clinical trial.
  • No placebos given at all (!!)
  • Purely "anecdotal" as doctor Fauchi would say.
  • It just looked up pre-existing medical reports.
  • Some patients not getting hydroxychloroquine were given other medicine.
  • Patients getting hydroxychloroquine may have gotten it because they were close to death but patients not getting it could have not gotten it because they were not as sick.
It also just looked at past VA patients who were given the drug after they were already hospitalized and compared with other patients who were hospitalized and not given the drug.

Hydroxychloroquine works according to medical theory best early on, it helps block the virus from multiplying. That is the medical theory of how it works. Any valid study would be double-blind clinical trial with 1000s of patients given pills early on at first symptoms and/or at first testing positive and way before hospitalization. They would be given pills that they and their doctors think are hydroxychloroquine but many would be secretly getting a placebo.

IMO it is scary the forces of dishonesty in government bureaucracies and media that are lining up against hydroxychloroquine. There is a lot of money to be made by the alternative $1000 pills and future expensive vaccine instead of this pill that has no patent and costs about $0.80 per pill. Drug company advertising makes up a large share of media revenue.

I wouldn’t trust a pill that in studies have shown to be dangerous.

spreading misleading information along with the obvious contempt for media shows an agenda.

the fact is NO research shows it helps, the opposite is actually being shown. Certain con men were the ones parroting this as a cure.

it’s the same as ppl trying to get others to drink bleach to try to cure this. It’s dangerous

Latent TB infection means the bacteria isn't active and it can't be spread. It can become active later in life if the person's immune system is weaker, and if it becomes active, then it can be spread. Immigrants to the U.S. have to take a TB test, a blood test now which is more accurate than the skin test. The CDC web page has information on latent TB infection, etc.

Edited to add MOO.
Sorry I wasn't clear, but I'm wondering what it means in terms of covid, if the TB situation (testing positive without having had it personally, for example) will have any similarities to covid and it's spread.

Wow, incredible censorship, regardless of what you think about WHO guidelines.

So you think wrong and often dangerous information SHOULD be allowed to be taken in by vulnerable people?

Ppl are literally trying to get people to feed their kids bleach to “cure” them

Rick Bright removed from his post Clashed over vetting potential treatments

A vaccine expert who was suddenly ousted from his post leading a federal biomedical division said Wednesday he was transferred because he insisted the government invest in “scientifically vetted solutions” and not unproven treatments to combat coronavirus.

The abrupt ouster of a top vaccine expert at HHS has split officials who see it as either a boon for the nation’s Covid-19 response or the latest indication of a dysfunctional health department.

The head of the federal agency charged with overseeing the rapid production of a vaccine to fight the coronavirus pandemic said Wednesday he was removed from his post after trying to push back against what he called “cronyism” infecting the federal effort.

Dr. Rick Bright said he was transferred “In response to my insistence that the government invest the billions of dollars allocated by Congress to address the COVID-19 pandemic into safe and scientifically vetted solutions, and not in drugs, vaccines and other technologies that lack scientific merit.”

“I am speaking out because to combat this deadly virus, science – not politics or cronyism – has to lead the way,” Bright said in a statement that came less than 24 hours after the Department of Health and Human Services circulated an internal memo, reviewed by ABC News, saying he had been promoted to a position in another agency. “Sidelining me in the middle of this pandemic and placing politics and cronyism ahead of science puts lives at risk and stunts national efforts to safely and effectively address this urgent public health crisis."

One person familiar with the situation said Bright was frozen out of his email and learned about the reassignment only when his name was removed from the BARDA website this weekend. As of Tuesday, Bright had not accepted the reassignment to NIH, where he was tapped to work on efforts to deploy point-of-care Covid-19 testing. Gary Disbrow, Bright’s former deputy, is now BARDA’s acting leader.

His removal from the post stunned lawmakers who had been pushing for a more robust vaccine effort.

I BELIEVE it means the test is reacting to the antibodies you may have built up from coming in contact with the infected person. I don't know for sure, it's been a long time since I talked to a doctor about this.
Here is an article explaining differences in latent TB and active TB. People with latent TB are infected with TB bacteria, but their immune system manages to keep it suppressed. So it's not antibodies that cause the reaction.

"Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by a germ called Mycobacterium tuberculosis that is spread from person to person through the air. TB usually affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body, such as the brain, the kidneys, or the spine. When a person with infectious TB coughs or sneezes, droplet nuclei containing M. tuberculosis are expelled into the air. If another person inhales air containing these droplet nuclei, he or she may become infected. However, not everyone infected with TB bacteria becomes sick. As a result, two TB-related conditions exist: latent TB infection and TB disease."

Ruth's Chris and other chain restaurants got big PPP loans when small business' couldn't - CNN

April 20, 2020

Getting money in workers' pockets

The amount of money offered through the PPP was never going to be enough to satisfy the immense demand, said Jacob Vigdor, a professor of public policy and governance at the University of Washington.

"It was always going to land in some people's pockets and not other people's pockets," he said.

Part of the rationale behind targeting small businesses that employ less than 500 workers is that those companies don't have as many avenues to access capital as do larger entities, he said.

"I think in theory, it would be great if we found some neutral way of targeting exactly the right companies and deliver the money to the places where the money would make the greatest difference," he said.

However, the bureaucratic process to create an independent commission free from lobbying pressure would take time. To be expedient, the government offered loans on a first-come, first-serve basis.

And that process favored those who already had the means for a seat at the table, he said.

Anyone can look at the Vet study and see how flawed it is as I pointed out. Lots of doctors are prescribing Hydroxychloroquine off-label as is normal and there have been many reports of positive results.

Veterans Affairs’ Robert Wilkie on yesterday’s hydroxychloroquine study: "That’s an observational study. It’s not a clinical study ... We know the drug has been working on middle-age and younger veterans. And the gov of NY was just in the Oval Office yesterday asking for more"

@musicaljoke

In some viral infections, there is still presence of the small amounts of virus in bodily fluids of the reconvalescent, after he has become clinically recovered, without exhibiting symptoms.

That is why- in my country, I don´t know how it is handled in the US- the people with Covid- 19 are considered contagious 28 days after they start displaying first symptoms, and if they are released from the hospital, they are obliged to self- isolate until that period passes.

Federal judge denies SoCal churches’ bid to reopen in pandemic

A federal judge on Wednesday said he will deny a bid by three Southern California churches to hold in-person church services during the pandemic, saying that government’s emergency powers trump what in normal times would be fundamental constitutional rights.

Interesting, thank you. I wonder why no one ever told me it could become active at a later date? I'll have to look further into this.

I don't think the anti-malaria drug is working. It has been tried against numerous other viruses and failed every time. The reason is, concentration needs to be much to high for it to work. I don't believe in any supposedly positive results. The person would have likely recovered without this drug, and without control group taking placebo, recovery is attributed to the drug. The drug also has dangerous cardiovascular side effects, especially at higher doses.

Wow, incredible censorship, regardless of what you think about WHO guidelines.

So, there can only be one authority on coronavirus medical advice. I wonder why YouTube is run with such a iron fist. I will never understand the groupthink mentality, where we cannot question China or the WHO, or really anyone. What is everyone scared of? We need independent thinking experts who question everything, and cross-reference, and pursue truth. Why wouldn't anyone want that? You don't take anyone's word for it. We give people/organizations/countries too much power, when they are beyond question. WHO should be transparent, and if their actions are admirable, I am sure that will show.

Health Dept. Doctor Says Doubts on Hydroxychloroquine Led to His Ouster
The doctor who led the federal agency involved in developing a coronavirus vaccine said on Wednesday that he was removed from his post after he pressed for rigorous vetting of hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malaria drug embraced by President Trump as a coronavirus treatment, and that the administration has put “politics and cronyism ahead of science.”

Dr. Rick Bright was abruptly dismissed this week as the director of the Department of Health and Human Services’ Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, or BARDA, and removed as the deputy assistant secretary for preparedness and response. He was given a narrower job at the National Institutes of Health.

In a scorching statement, Dr. Bright assailed the leadership at the health department, saying he was pressured to direct money toward hydroxychloroquine, one of several “potentially dangerous drugs promoted by those with political connections” and repeatedly described by the president as a potential “game changer” in the fight against the virus.

COVID-19 appears to be causing strokes in younger adults, doctors say

The new coronavirus appears to be causing sudden strokes in adults in their 30s and 40s who are not otherwise terribly ill, doctors reported Wednesday.

They said patients may be unwilling to call 911 because they have heard hospitals are overwhelmed by coronavirus cases.

There’s growing evidence that Covid-19 infection can cause the blood to clot in unusual ways, and stroke would be an expected consequence of that.

Dr. Thomas Oxley, a neurosurgeon at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, and colleagues gave details of five people they treated. All were under the age of 50, and all had either mild symptoms of Covid-19 infection or no symptoms at all.

“The virus seems to be causing increased clotting in the large arteries, leading to severe stroke,” Oxley told CNN.

NEW: Two cats in New York have become the first pets in the U.S. to test positive for the coronavirus, according to two government agencies.

The agencies said the cats lived in two separate areas in the state. Both were reported to have mild respiratory illnesses and are expected to make a full recovery.

One of the cats was not living in a household with someone confirmed to be ill with COVID-19, so the virus may have been transmitted by a mildly ill or asymptomatic household member or through contact with an infected person outside its home, according to the agencies.

The owner of the second cat did test positive for the virus, however a second cat in that household has not shown signs of illness.

Wonder who told you not to like the WHO?

yes they are doing the right things backed by science and medicine.

Weirdos in their basements spreading false information in YouTube videos about the virus do not know more, do not know better, and do not have people’s interests and lives in mind

Does someone have to tell me? I can think for myself. We can listen to them, and we can listen to other people and form our own opinion. Thing do not need to be censored. We can sort out the "weirdoes in their basement."
