The curve is Not Flattened when over 1,000 are dying each day. Flattening the curve at a high level of deaths and virus spread was not the goal.

But whatever, so many people have been right so far, while those of us talking gibberish have been so so wrong, that it's obviously a complete waste of time for us to continue explaining. Go ahead and open, and enjoy your life. Many of us, and I do mean Many, won't be participating. And eventually.....perhaps.....some will realize that you can run a functioning economy, when people are scared of contracting a deadly virus, that is very much alive and well and spreading nationwide and worldwide. We shall see, and then the goalposts can be moved by those who were wrong yet again.
So your answer is to lockdown till there is a vaccine, which could be never? Or over 60's stay locked down and the rest go back to work till 70% have had it? Then what if the virus continues to mutate, and the younger ages start dying too?
There is no one solution to this. But slowly working towards herd immunity will help, where hospitals don't get swamped. Why attack people for their views. If you are "not going to participate" what exactly do you mean? What will you be doing instead?

Hope your return to work was ......comfortable.
Thanks, yes I was apprehensive on my drive. Once I did my first visit it was all good. It was great to see people and have a diversion. The protocols in place were top notch. Thank you for asking my friend.

California biopharmaceutical company claims coronavirus antibody breakthrough

California biopharmaceutical company claims coronavirus antibody breakthrough

Perry Chiaramonte
A California-based biopharmaceutical company claims to have discovered an antibody that could shield the human body from the coronavirus and flush it out of a person’s system within four days, Fox News has exclusively learned.

Later Friday, Sorrento Therapeutics will announce their discovery of the STI-1499 antibody, which the San Diego company said can provide "100% inhibition" of COVID-19, adding that a treatment could be available months before a vaccine hits the market.

"We want to emphasize there is a cure. There is a solution that works 100 percent," Dr. Henry Ji, founder and CEO of Sorrento Therapeutics, told Fox News. "If we have the neutralizing antibody in your body, you don't need the social distancing. You can open up a society without fear."
...
"When the antibody prevents a virus from entering a human cell, the virus cannot survive," Dr. Ji said. "If they cannot get into the cell, they cannot replicate. So it means that if we prevent the virus from getting the cell, the virus eventually dies out. The body clears out that virus."

"This puts its arms around the virus. It wraps around the virus and moves them out of the body."
What is this stuff? Bleach?

Well, we don't have 5 years. Business will be long gone, and some people will be dead in 5 years. Many people do not have the option of not participating. They have bills to pay, employees to support, lives to live. The economy must open and will open. We don't have the luxury of waiting forever. Take the proper precautions, but we are getting back. We cannot afford the live off the government, and the government cannot afford it either. This pandemic has given too much power to tyrants, and We the People want our liberty back sooner than later.

I'm dying to hear what your personal experience was like, after being away and all that has happened. I think a lot of people are anxious about transitioning back.
Thank You for asking also. I/Team go into various settings in the Mental Health Care Field. My Manager has been amazing when I agreed to minimal hrs. as opposed to retiring. I was able to choose what 3 cases. I chose 3 but 2 are in the same setting. Walk in the door and masks and sanitizer is there. Temp check and you record it and initial. I had my own safety glasses which arrived and worked great. Spent time in the common area speaking with staff and going over data and generally getting up to speed. Spent time observing fellow on camera in lock down Unit and going over his data. Spent time speaking with him in his Unit. My folks are really coping well. Staff seem to be doing well with the day to day in our folks living accommodations. I can do reports from home or Office. The only pain is clocking in and out as it's facial recognition and you have to remove your mask. I had to ask girl sitting at computer and close if she would mind moving for her safety as I had to remove my mask. She did. Slowly. Overall it went well. 2 staff who were infected not back yet. Not sure what their plan is. Sorry for the novel lol

I feel your frustration and agree 100%. I stay in my house, occasionally do Walmart pickup, wear a mask and make sure I distance more than 6 feet. It's not easy at times, but I'm doing the right thing for myself and others. If by some freak chance I pick up this virus despite all my precautions, I am really going to be pi$$ed off.

Also when I leave because I have touched door handle I use my own sanitizer. When home I go straight into bathroom. Lay a towel on the floor. All my clothes on the towel. Shower. Clothes in laundry baskets. Wash my hands again. Then I'm sterile and good to go lol. I like doing only 3 hrs. as I dont take any food or water. I'd rather eat/drink at home. I feel it is a very controlled environment and I feel I am in control as well. I think that makes a huge difference in feeling safe. I'll post the link for the glasses as they really don't fog up at all. Amazon.ca for me but I am sure available on Amazon.com being a 3M product.

The food issue at work is a problem for me, as I am hypoglycemic and have to eat fairly constantly. Today, only 2 hours after breakfast and while at work I suddenly needed food. I no longer carry my purse or water inside the building with me. So I washed up, went to my car, got a snack, and went back to work. But that only works now because I am working alone.

I think most of us understand that we cant stay locked up forever. However a gradual opening and increase in testing eases my mind. If outbreaks occur test and isolate immediately. The free for all I am seeing is so unsettling. I'm good with Ontario plan under Premier Ford. If we have to pull back we pull back. As I said my City is doing well. Around me not so much. Toronto and Ottawa are a hot mess sadly. As summer weather approaches as folks start moving from City to City etc. there will be an increase. It's the asshats who ruin it for others. Folks just need to be sensible. We know how to keep safe. It is what it is.

I love his creativity. "They said I could work from home." What did I do wrong?

well the whole point of working from home is to limit contact with people and he knew it
I don't think it was smart to take those risks, especially at his age

I don't know the details, but he may have needed the money to survive.

Today, in Ohio, I got a text from my hair dresser who opened up today per the Ohio Governor's guidelines for the reopening of the state. She was giving her regular customers the option of appointments before others who are contacting her for appointments. She is about 30 years younger than me, so she is in a different situation. I told her that I am still staying at home due to age and high risk. She was still seeing clients at her home during the lock down, but getting back to her salon and being officially opened for business will help her support her family. Her husband is a veteran who had to stop working last year for some serious PTSD issues. She is a hard worker, I hope things work out for her.

pure cv deaths? that is ridiculous! how do you possibly cta

The concept of "pure coronavirus is absurd"-- it is splitting hairs to try and separate "those dying due to CV" and "those dying with Coronavirus". IMO all of those deaths are people who would still be alive but for CV; many of them had co-morbidities, but they were living just fine with their diabetes, obesity, COPD, etc etc etc. Had they not contracted the virus they would still be on this erth. There is no doubt in my mind 99.9 of those people died due to the virus and of course they died with it. I don't get the point at all.
Exactly. Lots of people are living with pre-existing conditions and would have continued on living if not for covid infection.

We don't know that. Diabetes, Obesity, Asthma, COPD---all by themselves, are responsible for many deaths. COPD is very serious:

Is COPD a fatal disease?
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) refers to a collection of lung diseases that can lead to blocked airways. ... For those living with COPD, every breath can be difficult. People with COPD can be at risk for serious complications that can not only put their health in jeopardy, but also be fatal.Nov 5, 2018

11 years ago my dad died from COPD. He was on oxygen at home but towards the end it didn't help much because his lungs were in such bad shape. He slowly suffocated. It was terrible. It was what motivated me to quit smoking.

If in a hypothetical scenario my dad was infected with Covid-19 a month before his death and the virus caused him to die a week earlier than in reality, would his death be from COPD or Covid-19?

I would have to say COPD. If he didn't have COPD he may have survived a Covid-19 infection. JMO.

Thinking about this situation....
Type 1 diabetes
A1c being maintained in good range
45 years old
Not overweight
Covid-19 infection
Subsequently dies.

COD - Covid-19?
