Ive seen you say this about public schools a couple of times now. I realize there are some bad public schools but there are also some excellent ones. Do you think underprivileged kids will be able to pay for private schools? And what about the parents who feel it very important to send their child into a diversified classroom setting? Help me understand your thoughts.

Voucher systems in some states give students from low-income families options to go to private schools.

I agree. Going to be hot and beautiful this holiday in Southern California. I'm going to my second home (boat) on Tuesday. Hopefully most will then be gone...

That behavior will spread like wildfire. Memorial Day weekend is upon us. Hold down the hatches.

Trump has 'legal responsibility' to wear coronavirus mask during Ford factory visit, Michigan attorney general says

Michigan’s attorney general said Wednesday that President Donald Trump has a “legal responsibility” — under state law — to wear a mask as a coronavirus precaution when he visits a Ford Motor Co. factory Thursday.

In an open letter to Trump, who so far has refused to wear a mask, Attorney General Dana Nessel wrote, “I ask that while you are on tour you respect the great efforts of the men and women at Ford — and across this state — by wearing a facial covering. "

Costco shopper who ignores mask requirement is booted from store by employee, viral video shows
...
“Hi everyone. I work for Costco and I’m asking this member to put on a mask because that is our company policy,” said Tison.

“And I’m not doing it, because I woke up in a free country,” the shopper responded.

Because none of us is required to wear shirts or shoes to go in a store. Nothing like that already exists. I don't even have to wear a top to the beach any more!

(The Supreme Court recently ruled that I must wear a top to the beach - even though I woke up in a free country too and that sounds suspiciously like sex discrimination - go figure).

Oh, and shirts and shoes required for established is a very old rule. I can't even imagine what public health would be like if everyone was allowed to wear whatever into any store or restaurant.

Also, remember "We have the right to refuse service to anyone!" (And that's still true as long as it's not systematic discrimination against a protected group).

Homeowners' Associations can still ban people under a certain age if they are a private holding.

In some states, you can't be visible in your underwear (or cuss) even inside your own home if others can see or hear you.

It's interesting to me that so many apparently think "freedom" means "I can do anything I want." They had to close a big section of highway near a popular hiking trail (and close the trail) because people were parking illegally with part of their cars in the highway, on a bridge, in places with no shoulder, etc. So they towed 'em. And this morning, it's all coned off - but some people STILL parked illegally, trail is closed to everyone indefinitely, and yep, they'll be towed again.

Because we do not have the freedom to break laws or disobey store policies.

"The company said it has informed the White House about that policy.

But Ford also said Tuesday, “The White House has its own safety and testing policies in place and will make its own determination” about whether Trump and his party will wear masks during the visit .

Asked Tuesday by reporters if he would wear a mask at the Ford facility, Trump at first said, “I don’t know.” “It depends. In certain areas I would,” the president said. “So, we’ll see. Where it’s appropriate, I will."

What is the Michigan attorney general going to do if he does not wear a mask? Arrest him? Good luck.

Petty, imo. Here's what Ford said, from the link.

"But Ford also said Tuesday, “The White House has its own safety and testing policies in place and will make its own determination” about whether Trump and his party will wear masks during the visit."

, “The White House has its own safety and testing policies in place and will make its own determination” snipped"

Exactly, the mask is not the end all. His doctors are probably monitoring him every day, testing, etc.

Understand how you feel after wearing a mask. I've felt dizzy, anxious and nearly hyperventilating wearing mask inside supermarket. I usually have to find myself a quiet aisle, stop and remind myself that I can do this for a few minutes longer and the rewards outweigh the discomfort.

BTW, I suffer from GAD and public places are difficult in the best of times.

I know children, if taught properly, will take easily to wearing masks. MOO....
It's unhealthy for children to be wearing masks, for hours at a time, everyday.

The new form of cheating: ''I saw Billy lift up his mask and get fresh air during the test''

I agree!

So today, the Costco shopper guy wishes he had some paper towels, laundry detergent, 2 packs of microfiber clothes (I recognize the package. They are great BTW)
Serves him right.

Great video, thanks for posting. Great news! COVID-19 does not get into the cell nucleus so it is an acute illness, not chronic like HIV and Hep B (both have viruses that invade the DNA of the cell nucleus and are therefore chronic diseases, with lifelong antivral medications needed to suppress the virus and keep it inactive, but the person remains infectious if though the virus is suppressed while taking the medications).

Exactly. It's the scenario many of us here who followed science, or that were here, discussed since February.

That there are "dead" particles of RNA which show up on the PCR tests.

Many on threads spoke of that the PCR was picking up dead viruses due to doctors that we were, at that time, allowed to post.

It's taking time. It's more than 2 months for it to get written up unfortunately.

It is so very disheartening that main stream media is one to two month behind the science.

And what is more disheartening, is that the science folks that were altruistic are not on MSM.

MOO

Yesterday we learned that we lost Annie Glenn who was 100 years old, she died from complications of the coronavirus (married for 73 years to her late spouse John Glenn, astronaut and senator).
Today, news of a former White House butler who at 91 dies from coronavirus. Sad news of these cherished elders, but lives well-lived.

I think DJT will honor the request. With that one visit where he wore goggles but not a mask (I forget where it was), he had stated that he would wear a mask if they asked him to.
