@BHughes , yes, so frustrating! And my headache is just getting worse :( No, I do not take a Vit D Supplement. I am not "of that age", LOL, where the Dr. suggests it. But thank you for mentioning it, anything that might give me an idea of what to mention to my Dr. is very helpful.

I know how that can be so frustrating not getting an answer and having to wait!!! I'm so sorry!!
Are you taking a vitamin D supplement? I think several of your symptoms you listed is a sign of too much, MOO. I'm no health professional, just thought I'd point that out! I hope you get some good news soon!!!

Did you notice masks “and” face shields on the children in the photo?

Did you see this bit :

The minister, Jean-Michel Blanquer, told the French radio station RTL that the new cases were "inevitable" but that "almost all" of the cases originated outside school.

and this too from the same article:

On Monday, Blazenka Divjak, the minister for education in Croatia, said at a press conference that there hadn't been a significant increase in cases since European schools opened their doors.

"So far we haven't heard anything negative about the reopening of schools, but it is probably too early to have final conclusions on that," she said.

Well they aren't clear to Dr. Tony Fauci, as he is heading up a clinical trial at the NIH with hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.
He sees the value in trials like this.

well...this is the first time we have heard about this, right?
The theory has been batted around the last couple of weeks, but this is the first trial I've seen about it.

What's the point of the kids masks? Very few under 18 are dying in fact very few under 45 are dying but the evidence is that kids are not spreading it like it was initially thought. We know why surgeons and dentists wear them - to protect the patient, so why would school kids need them?

kids haven't been spreading because they haven't been in school or around each other - once they go back to school, the spread will be noticeable IMO

Well hey, the press takes their shots too. If they treated me like that, I would tell them to pound sand too.
Perhaps. But one would think grown adults would have matured beyond tit-for-tat behavior.

I don't know where you live. Have you/do you have CoVid? Maybe it's something else. Are there ticks in you area? Your yard maybe? The worst headache I ever had in my lifetime was due to Lyme Disease. Amoxicillin took care of it very quickly.

I'm not a medical person and honestly have not seen all your posts, , only going on experience here. Ticks are dreadfully bad already here this spring.

Drunk Peruvian mayor arrested for breaking lockdown and hiding in a coffin for Covid-19 victims

Mat Youkee
The Telegraph•May 20, 2020

The mayor of the Tantará district, in the province of Castrovirreyna, was detained by agents of the National Police for violating the curfew
Eyes screwed tight shut in the coffin, facemask still in place and presumably reeking of booze, a Peruvian mayor’s attempt to escape arrest by impersonating a corpse failed to deceive police officers.

Jaime Uriba Torres, mayor of the Andean town of Tantará, went out drinking with friends on Monday, breaking the country’s curfew and social distancing policies. When police were alerted to the situation, and fearing their night of pisco was about to turn sour, Uriba and several of his friends hid in coffins built for coronavirus victims.

Drunkenly believing that their subterfuge had worked, the men remained motionless in the coffins whilst the police snapped photos of them before taking them into custody.

Residents had previously decried Uriba’s leadership, pointing out that he had only spent 8 days in the town since the state of emergency was announced on 25 March. On May 9 he was called to attend a public meeting where he was accused of not taking the pandemic seriously.

The slapstick story is illustrative of the challenges Peru has faced in controlling the spread of the virus. Despite being the first country in South America to announce a formal – and strict – lockdown, new cases have continued to rise, hitting a record of 4046 on 15 May, six weeks after quarantine began.

On March 17th, right around the time schools closed, there were less than about 3000 covid cases in the US. So yeah, I agree that there probably was not spread in schools yet when they closed. It will be interesting to see what happens when all the kids get together again. It's a bit worrisome.

I started taking Vitamin D after an accident and broke my back in February. With it may helping with this virus, I've just continued to take it.
Well, scratch that then.... Hmmm, the headache is such a common symptom with the CoVid, but idk. The metallic taste could be from respiratory infection or sinus infection. That is the only symptom I haven't read about in the CoVid patients, but who's to say thatithat isn't one since we still do not understand this virus 100%! The knot on your vein is confusing! So I would just ice it and keep it elevated as much as possible. With your headache being so bad that probably is something you are already doing.

@zecats may be on to something also, just depends on if you live in an area inhabited by ticks. I've heard that Lyme disease is awful with the pains and cramps.

11th March was when WHO declared COVID was a pandemic. Wonder if that was the reason? I cannot remember the exact day the elderly care lockdown happened in the UK but it was at least by the 16th March and could have been before. I haven't seen my kids since Christmas. Why can't relatives visit if they mask up? I wonder about that. August 1st is ridiculous IMO. Hopefully our UK restrictions are slowly opening up.
No, I don't think that was the reason.

It was because one of the staff, who worked the front desk, and signed in visitors, got a call that morning from her kid's elementary school. The school was shutting down immediately because 2 teachers were confirmed positive after testing, as well as an after school soccer coach.

So the staff member was told to quarantine, as her child was on the soccer team. Once the administrators found that their receptionist was possibly exposed to the virus weeks earlier, they made a quick decision to shut down.

They prohibited any visitors. They ceased ALL communal activities---no more eating meals together. No more exercise classes or movie nights. No more shuttle for trips out.

And the residents were confined to their apartments. Luckily they have their own a/c units. So no shared air.

On that same day, Mom and I were sitting down to watch a basketball game. She loves basketball. In real time, as we watched, the game was postponed because one of the players tested positive for CV. And then within an hour, the NBA announced they were shutting down the entire league until further notice. It was quite a shock.

It really got my Mom's attention though and helped me explain the seriousness of this whole thing.

Resort locals 'shocked and angry' at beach crowds

Oh dear, and we haven't even got to the Bank Holiday yet.

Coronavirus: Resort locals 'shocked and angry' at beach crowds

Image captionSouthend beach had thousands of visitors on Wednesday
People living in seaside resorts have said they are "horrified" by the influx of visitors as temperatures soared ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

Thousands of people have headed to English beaches, with many apparently unconcerned about public health issues.

"Hundreds die every day yet people think it's OK to have a jolly on the beach," a walker in Southend said.

Norfolk Chief Constable Simon Bailey said he feared there was a perception that lockdown was "done and dusted".

'Lack of respect'
Government guidelines in England allow people to travel for fresh air and exercise, as long as they keep two metres (6ft) from anyone they do not live with.

Did you reschedule dental cleaning? I have a Do-list for AC (after covid). First is have plumber replace kitchen faucet and unstick garden hoses from outside faucets. Second is teeth-cleaning. Won't bore you with numbers 3-11, but the list is getting longer each month.

no it's not at the top of my list and they said they don't know when they will open up for cleanings
it's only been 4 1/2 months since my last one so I'm good for awhile

We are fallible yes. So why do people think kids wearing masks will work any better. Much better to accept the reality. The lockdown of care homes failed miserably and it was not due to the relatives not being trusted to keep masks on or to social distance. It failed for other reasons that have not fully been explained yet.

I don’t know. I think they’re just trying to mitigate the risk as much as possible. But how do we know what wasn’t a factor in why the lockdown of care homes failed miserably if we don’t know why they failed?

Also, haven’t many care homes been successful at preventing the spread via lockdown? I mean the ones who had outbreaks wasn’t that mostly at the beginning of the lockdowns or in places where there wasn’t one?

I'm curious in regards to how many children have been tested since schools reopened. That's the only way to know for sure.

Thanks so much!

It’s crazy how we have so much research data available so quickly but some of it is just contradictory.
You know what they say: There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.

"The U.S. could have avoided nearly 36,000 deaths caused by the coronavirus through early May if stay-at-home orders and other social distancing restrictions were implemented just one week earlier, a new study from Columbia University researchers shows.

The study, which focused on transmission in metropolitan areas, found that social distancing measures adopted throughout the nation after March 15 "effectively reduced rates of COVID-19 transmission."

The researchers estimated that had the measures been instituted just one week earlier that the U.S. may have avoided more than 700,000 confirmed cases of the virus and as many as 35,927 deaths that it caused. "

Social distancing one week earlier could have saved 36,000 US lives: study
Wonder what the point of the article is? Is it to cast blame?
