I drove home from work today, traffic, stores were busy, restaurants full. What was the point of the world stopping in March? Why didn't people just Social Distance and start wearing masks then?

What is the point of cancelling weddings, concerts, rodeos, when 1000's of people are protesting every where?
I don’t know if people would have complied with masks and social distancing immediately. It seems to me it took time, then more time, for the seriousness to sink in. And just about the time it finally did, people were tired of staying home and taking precautions.

They still aren't complying as far as I can tell. Lots of people not wearing masks.

I see a lot in my area who are complying with the mask order, and I don't think a lot of them would have right out of the gate in March.

My area doesn't have a mask order so maybe that's why I see so many with no masks on.

Well, I am grateful someone is making Cubs masks, because I swear all the men who weren’t wearing masks a month ago now all have a Cubs masks. Whatever works!

It's a guy thing. The reason is buried somewhere in "The Guy Manual" that no woman on earth has yet to see.

I found myself lifting my mask to itch my nose etc. at the hospital yesterday. We're all doing our best and are bound to make little mistakes.

All we can do is the best we can-- we all slip up here and there--it is very
difficult to not slip.up---

Every time I wear a mask, my nose starts to itch! Hard to ignore it but I try.

We can’t go to any inside establishment without a mask. We are still in stage 1.

I have a few masks and bought another with a valve because it’s much easier for me to breathe when wearing long term and I will need it if I will be going back to work soon.

Just like Pavlov's dogs. Sports are associated with good things, therefore masks with sports themes are a good thing. Whatever works.

The men in my life have no problem with it. But the guys in the tiny town next to me who frequent the little grocery store - another story. Except this time more were wearing them, and they were Cubs masks.

So, you're implying that it's pretty much over? Because people are acting careless, and completely opposite how they have been for the past 2-3 months?

It would be productive to look at graphs of how this all started here in the U.S., back in Late February. The contagion grows exponentially. The country was on the down slope, but were still nowhere near the bottom. That means, IMO, the virus was and is still out there.

For those who haven't been paying attention, this virus often has a delay between when it's caught, and when symptoms, hospitalization, and perhaps death, show up. It takes time to spread. 1 Case does not turn into 5 cases overnight. But eventually it does.

I still believe it will be early July, before we can ever dare to conclude that the worst is behind us. Regardless, I still do not see ANY chance of things improving. I've always felt with the re-openings, that cases/deaths would stay steady, or increase. Now I think that's a certainty, given all the crowds gathering over the past 2 weeks. If I'm right, we'll see cases & deaths accelerate in the latter half of June.

well we are on the road from Florida to
Michigan and i have already screwed up
it is raining so when we stopped at a
gas station i forgot my mask-used the
ladys room and of course people were
using those dreadful dryers -hope none
of them have the virus--we also bought
a donut and touched the wrapper
and then touched the donut touched
i guess the best laid plans----
Ugh, I know how you feel. lol

I ran out to the market yesterday for eggs and milk. I didnt want to pay instacart prices for just a couple of things. And my daughter has been doing all of our shopping for months--didnt want to bother her again for just 2 things, and she is a vegan, so hate to ask her to go out just for eggs/milk...lol

So I put on my mask and wrap around protective glasses and my gloves and felt pretty safe. As I was standing at the plexiglass checkout, waiting for my receipt, I inexplicably stuck my gloved finger into my eye to rub it, cuz it was itching...:eek::eek:

I couldn't believe I had done that. Now What? I walked quickly back to the car and removed my gloves and sanitized my hands, and wiped my eyes area with baby wipes from the car. But of course, too late if my gloves were already infected....:confused::confused:

Now I feel like I have to do the quarantine countdown....

About 2 months ago, my husband was balking about masks. One day my daughter was shopping and she picked up our groceries for us too. Hubby drove and met her in parking lot to pick up ours.

He didn't wear his mask as he walked over to her car. She had hers on. She began to cry and she told her Dad that the reason she wore her mask, and quarantined herself, was because she wanted to protect us, her parents. And she told him how much it hurts her, to see him walking around without one on himself.....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED...she got through to him and he had been diligent about masks and gloves ever since...:p
