I really miss going out for breakfast---i love going to I-Hop for
yummy pancakes, eggs, and hash browns---i suppose it could
be a year or two before we can dine in any restaurant!

Can we not start with ridiculous conspiracy theories that hospitals are labeling car crush victims as covid victims to get money? I know plenty of people who actually got covid, while some here act as if it doesn't exist.

I'm not saying it doesn't exist - one of my wife's friends from high school died of it. What I am saying is that hospitals are businesses and I get nervous when I see Banner Health quoted in many of the articles about our rising Covid rate. They are doing a balancing act and I believe they would advocate for certain public policy moves based on the bottom line as much as any concern for my safety.

And I hope I'm not being taken as a "mask shamer." My issue with this whole thing has been the intellectual dishonesty of the lock up - don't tell me it's two weeks or two months when what you've always meant was two years.

Things opening up gradually in NJ. Gov lifted stay-at-home order today. Pools can open June 22, restaurants with outside seating this Monday June 15. Small businesses as well.

Jersey Shore, where I am now, is quiet. Beach was beautiful today and people were spread apart. Lots out walking tonight waiting for the sunset over the back bay. Sunset always draws people.

My peaceful happy place. I wish the same for all of you.

We were told that the lockdown was to level the curve so the hospitals would not get overwhelmed. That happened. Then, people tried to move the goal post to the next thing. We leveled the curve, and now it is time to get things back open. This will get strung along for as long as the citizens allow it to happen.

It has not happened in every state. Some states have cases rising right now.

Yaaaay nachos! CSIDreamer A few days ago I had a taco take home order that was my first restaurant to go order. I haven't been in a restaurant to dine yet. Heard from some people they had a good experience with how things were being made safer. Not sure where they were eatting and if all places are as careful.

I wanted to go through the taco drive-through the other day but hubby talked me out of it. Didn't take much convincing really, all he had to say is 'covid' and I'm like forget it lol.

We did get muffin and coffee one day after hospital but that is it for us. We never went out much for dinner anyway and only got take-out maybe once a month so we don't really miss it.

My opinion is that most of us agree that Covid19 is a horrible virus that is still around. We all have our opinion as to how we want to deal with it. I personally do not like seeing people gathering in certain highly risky places but I can not stop them. People most certainly have a right to be angry when it seems to be there is no thought or care for others in those heads. I do not like selfishness, ignorance nor lack of respect for others well being. Many us will do what we need to keep ourselves and others safe. It would be nice if it wasn't so hard for some people to wear a mask at times either. Either way, I will do my part. I can safely enjoy many things and other things are on the maybe one day I will again. I had a a crazy experience a couple of nights ago. We had a very windy, rainy storm that my husband, self and young adult son got caught in driving home. My son wanted to run into a gas station before we got home. He ran out of the car and a split second I decided I wanted to grab something too. Barely got the store door open very windy and drenched in rain. Took a breath, grabbed what I wanted and came up behind my son in line. Behold, he had a mask on! I totally forgot so handed him my item and he paid for everything. I darted from the store since it was still windy and pouring and my glasses on my shirt neck actually flew 15 feet into the dark parking lot. I told my husband my glasses flew away lol! When my son was entering the car my husband told my son what happened but my son was talking through his mask which frusterated my husband so he ran out and found the glasses. I was so proud my son is considerate of others! I didn't even feel lousy that part of our backyard fence was damaged from the storm.

Wondering what the school rules will be in September. Right now MN is opening on June 10 but with social distancing rules and people caps. I cannot see phy ed classes, swim classes operating. And, that's just the icing on the cake. Classrooms and distancing? How's that going to work? There hasn't been a peep from any school district. Haven't heard a word about school sports. How's school wrestling going to work? What about cheerleading? How are kids going to be seated on a school bus? So many questions, but no one's saying anything!

I ordered the KN95 masks. I know they could be counterfeit but IMO there much better than the construction masks we were wearing. We wear the KN95 when we're indoors in public and the construction/dust masks when we're outdoors in public. The KN95s are much harder to breathe in but I realized today that I didn't notice it anymore while I was wearing it. Not sure if that's good or bad. Safer and more comfortable but geez I don't really want to get used to wearing them.

Interesting thoughts. I am wondering too now. It will be a hard job in finding solutions to those activities you mentioned. I am thankful it isn't going to be my job or my children having to attend. I feel bad things will more than likely change in the school days life. I heard from an older someone that a student had polio in school. The school was closed for a couple of weeks during that time. No clue what would work with this virus.

With all of the activity going on in our country now, i am thinking it is survival of the fittest- herd immunity--- the Protests are going to cause a huge surge IMO and the president is going to have a couple of rallies in two weeks. Many people are carrying on with their lives like there is no virus-- Not everybody mind you- i see lots of parking lots in strip malls and at restaurants where there are hardly any cars. Vulnerable people like me will have to spend most of their time in the house except to go to the grocery store and maybe visit a hair salon if they are taking proper precautions.

My Dad always called IHop the worst restaurant in the Western Hemisphere, but my wife wanted to go a couple weeks ago. They cordoned off some booths and had a sign asking people to respect others. It was fine and I cleaned my plate. May go back Saturday!

I have not had fast food since March and went to Chick fil A today since I’ve been getting email updates from the one I usually frequented prior to the pandemic.

Talked about all the safety precautions.

I pulled up to the drive thru line and my mouth dropped open.
There were 8 employees out there and only ONE had a mask on properly.
Most were pushed down past their mouths on their chins.
The one inside handing the bags out the window had her mask pushed down also and her face was inches away from everyone’s food bag.
I left without ordering.
I was so disappointed.
Maybe my expectations are too high.

No - it's just that people don't care and go back to "normal." They quickly lapse back into whatever they did before. Masks are a bit uncomfortable - and would be fairly uncomfortable after 2-3 hours in a fast food place.

The one inside needs to wear a mask and I do not understand why they aren't.

Yup. I went for my weekly Aldi run today. Of all the stores in our area, Aldi has been practicing safer social distancing and everyone was wearing masks. I go during senior hour and there's always a clerk out front sanitizing each cart and giving it to you. Well not today. We each had to get our cart from the row unsanitized, no clerk in sight. Several workers stocking shelves weren't wearing masks and some of the customers weren't. One man bumped into me while reaching across me to get tomatoes and he wasn't wearing a mask . Until today our groceries were put back in the cart we used but now they're back to putting the groceries in another cart after they ring them up. I was hoping they were sanitizing those carts before putting groceries in them but no, another cashier took my cart and used it for the next customer's groceries.
My hubby says customers that were normally wearing masks and taking it seriously last week, aren't wearing masks anymore and claim it's a hoax now. "If it's as bad as they've been saying, they wouldn't allow all those protests."
That's exactly the problem, as I see it now.

How are people going to believer the authorities about needing to be locked down, after we saw thousands marching in the streets shoulder to shoulder, screaming, for hours at a time.

The politicians were arresting people here in Cali for sitting on the beach while socially distancing, with your family.

And days later, these same politicians are enthusiastically supporting the marches, which are much more likely to spread CV across greater numbers and in a greater area.

So NOW people don't believe the politicians when they say 'get back inside.'

IMO,this is going to be devastating and it shouldn't have been allowed to happen.

So a vaccine that is 80% effective should be a winner then IMO.
Unless it has side effects or longterm issues, that we won't know about because of the big rush.
