Does that mean that the faster you get the virus, the better luck you will have to get an ICU bed?
Reserve your ICU bed now while they are still available!

just had to get gas and bread so went into store (normally I would just pay at pump and sanitize card after)
they stood at the door and limited people
people are pretty good at maintaining distance but no one had masks on except me

I'm not all that far from you and noticing the same. Other than walks where we don't really cross paths with folks we wear them.

BBM:
"”After another round of testing for campaign staff in Tulsa, two additional members of the advance team tested positive for the coronavirus. These staff members attended the rally but were wearing masks during the entire event. Upon the positive tests, the campaign immediately activated established quarantine and contact tracing protocols," Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh told CNN in a statement.“

-I wonder how many people who attended the rally saw the BBM part above and said “Oh thank God they had masks on. Oh wait, we don’t believe in wearing masks.”

Deaths lag behind because it takes a while for a covid patient to die. Also, if infections are trending younger, less people will die because older people are most at risk of dying.

True, regarding lag, but the places that have been open for a while still aren't seeing a death surge. They know a lot more about how this works, so outcomes are improving.

At some point, it seems to me, folks will have to accept that this is what it is. If people are still having so much trouble getting tested, that they don't bother, and robust contact tracing is a non-starter in the U.S., then we are left with masks. How many weeks are we going to wait before passing final judgement on whether masks are the answer?

BBM.

Is that a thing now?

Oh well, so be it. I wear a mask any time I leave my place, and we're going through a heat wave so it's quite uncomfortable. I can deal with a few recalcitrants feeling shamed.

WS is always good for vocabulary building. My new word:

re·cal·ci·trant
/rəˈkalsətrənt/

noun
plural noun: recalcitrants
  1. a person with an obstinately uncooperative attitude.

I have a question! Could the upcoming sand storm help spread Covid-19 or suppress it in the air? Sort of like a blanket? Just wondering, thanks! :)

Yea, and no. Yes, you will get a bed faster, but you will be turfed out as soon as it's needed for someone with a better chance of surviving. :(

Best to stay home, wear a mask, wash your hands, do the drill to stay healthy.

They were wearing masks the whole time, wink, wink.

Well, here in Florida theme parks are opening back up, as are hotels, pools, beaches, bars and restaurants.
Will tourists come on down with numbers like this? 100,000 active cases, over 3,000 deaths.
3-4,000 new cases each day with restricted testing.

I expect so. People are dense.

Working out at the gym daily used to be the "drill to stay healthy". Now, staying away from the gym, is the best way to stay healthy. Go figure it.

And eating fried foods, according to, well, you LOL.

Seriously, where is that post of yours? It was a good one. I’m trying to explain your analogy, but can’t say it as well as you did and don’t want to butcher it. :D
