MSNBC is showing the holding area for today's rally in Phoenix, AZ. A few hundred people crammed together, and NOT A SINGLE PERSON WEARING A MASK. I kid you not. There was literally Nobody. The reporter mentioned the temperature would be 109 degrees today, the rally doesn't start for several more hours. He was standing beside a rotating fan blowing onto the crowd, and pointing out that fact, saying "hopefully this is not blowing the virus around."

Then he made the mistake of interviewing some of the people. OH MY GOD! They cut to a commentator who said, "It's like talking to my 15 Month old."

109 degrees and wearing a mask may not mix. Sounds like heatstroke in the making.

I saw a lot less masks last night in DC during The mob/statue contest and subsequent sit in. When it’s so hot, it is really hard to wear the mask correctly and not get overheated.

Look for the complete Chris Wallace interview of Mercedes Schlepp (Trump campaign) from two days ago. It’s available on YouTube but I don’t know if I can link it unless it comes directly from the Fox site. The Trump campaign said it.

IAW TOS it would have to be a MSM one otherwise it cannot be posted as fact.

Has anyone here switched to new jobs due to this? I have a very high risk job that I am now due to return to. I am terrified. I’ve been trying to think of ways to successfully stay home and make a living.

Unless it's a silk or chiffon mask.

Same with the French gatherings for the music festival that I posted. I noticed the DC mask shortages too.

Have you been able to have a conversation as to what is in place to protect you? Be safe.

The first link was from 2 weeks ago.

Like I said, New York is back up and running. If Valentino or any other store is having problems with their landlord and wants to get out of a lease, that is an isolated incident and does not mean that 5th Avenue stores are shut down or boarded up. Valentino sues to end Fifth Avenue lease amid pandemic losses

Just as a sort of off topic aside, the big designer stores were already on the ropes. A big chunk of their business is Asia, especially in the form of millions of well-heeled Asian tourists. I follow the resale market of Japanese and Chinese designer items (there's one specific brand, not Valentino - although I do have a preowned Valentino bag) and it has crashed. People who used to be able to resell their items at near full-cost are stuck with them (this happened well before CoVid). Stores in Beverly Hills were struggling before this, with Nike doing better than some of the older luxury brands.

So this is probably the death knell for that particular store and the brand itself is an older people's brand, so there we have it. Miu-miu and Prada going out of business would surprise me way more.

I really appreciate your perceptive updates, JerseyGirl.

Thank you, and yes I did have a conversation but the things that I feel should be “mandated” are only being called optimal suggestions. Close contact is not an option to avoid in my line of work. I honestly would rather stay home and work harder and have less money than return to such a high contact environment. I just can’t think of anything viable.

Hundreds line up hours ahead of President Trump's rally in north Phoenix

The church holding the rally claims that they have an air unit that eliminates 99% of coronavirus. However, an emergency room doctor, Murtaza Akhter, who has been working with COVID-19 patients since the start of the pandemic, said the filtration system doesn't work when people are close to each other.

"The thing with rallies, for example, is that people are really close to each other so even if they have a filtration system, if this person coughs on this person, that person is clearly going to get sick; there’s no way for that particle or whatever you call it to be filtered,” Dr. Akhter said.
and people are yelling their excitement and agreement and I doubt they are social distancing either. sigh.
IMO

Hi there. There are a variety of ways you can find a new job and spend your time either at home or in a safe work environment. I don't know where you live, but if it's a town of at least 100,000 or larger in your area, people are hiring. First, cross off all jobs that you consider too dangerous (restaurants, grocery stores, etc).

Look into anything healthcare related - but obviously not infectious disease-related. Law firms. Small businesses doing logistics. And look every day at which schools are hiring and in what fields. Schools and colleges hire nearly every type of worker and while it will be competitive for a while to get such a job, you can work in relative safety (right now, school workers are mostly working from home, and schools will close when it's unsafe, obviously - and people will again work from home).

You can also go back to school. If you are unemployed, depending on your state, you can get free tuition and then qualify for financial aid (it's enough for people to live on if they are not the sole income in the household).

The traditional "at home" work markets (telemarketing, etc) are weak right now. However, you can build an online business. I've been surprised that one family member has actually been able to amp up her online business during the pandemic to be able to cover rent for herself and her SO, as well as pay for her own food (the rest comes out of his unemployment - like you, he's terrified of going back to work, he's not quite 30 years old).

Anyway, government-based jobs are still there, but the safety of those jobs and ability to work from home really varies by state.

For those who can't seem to find the Chris Wallace interview of Mercedes Schlapp. Watch the video real quick because Fox keeps blocking the video from other news sites that have reported on it "on copyright grounds."

But that doesn't mean the video doesn't exist, or that this interview didn't happen. Yes, it is fact. It is still all over twitter as well for anyone who actually wants to find it.

Are they old enough to vote? I think they are mainly students expected.

ETA do you have a link for this you can provide?
