Not wearing masks in Gwalior? You'll end up volunteering at hospital

GWALIOR: Citizens found without mask or not following the COVID-19 prevention guidelines at public places in Gwalior will have to work as volunteers in hospitals and police check-posts for three days, an official said on Monday.

Fines would also be imposed on those violating the COVID-19 protocols, he said.

An order of this effect was issued by the district administration in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday after Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh held a meeting with officials concerned on the ongoing 'Kill Corona' campaign, he said.

Trump administration releases list of companies that received most money from small business bailout loans

Among the notable recipients is Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in New Jersey, which is named after Trump's son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner's grandfather and got a loan in the range of $1 million to $2 million. Jared Kushner's parents' family foundation supports the school, NBC reported.

[The full list is available on the Small Business Administration website, which you can access here. We are combing through the data now.]

This is crazy. Why don't the countries repatriate them and quarantine them on return? I hope the countries listen to the UN.

Holy moly -- this is nuts--- !!!!

I’m afraid to look. I spent two hours Sunday in a crowded Home Depot. I was within a foot or two of several people. But everyone wore a mask. As did I.

And it has high ceilings and they had the fans in the ceilings beating down on us.

I keep worrying. I had to go though. Time constraints on a rental project.
Masks aren't mandatory in our area. As a result my Spring 'to do' list has very few items checked off. Hubby doesn't seem to mind though

I have found out now and added a link to the post. He travelled back to NY to move out. Very unlucky.

But we still don't know the mechanism of the infection ( how exactly did he contract it?) we will never know. Very unlucky --

White House officials also hope Americans will grow numb to the escalating death toll and learn to accept tens of thousands of new cases a day, according to three people familiar with the White House’s thinking, who requested anonymity to reveal internal deliberations. Americans will “live with the virus being a threat,” in the words of one of those people, a senior administration official.

“They’re of the belief that people will get over it or if we stop highlighting it, the base will move on and the public will learn to accept 50,000 to 100,000 new cases a day,” said a former administration official in touch with the campaign.

We’re supposed to get over it?
I don’t think so!!

This is pure insanity coming from the white house. That anybody agrees with those words and thinks it ok to say that, tells you how far we are removed from normal.

China's COVID-19 cases reportedly near zero

While China appears to have reduced coronavirus cases to near zero, other infectious threats remain, with local health authorities announcing a suspected bubonic plague case in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Along with the coronavirus, first detected in the central Chinese city of Wuhan late last year, China has dealt with African swine fever, which has devastated pig herds.

China has gone weeks without reporting a new death from the coronavirus, and on Monday reported just one new case of local infection in the capital, Beijing.

I believe the reason the CDC is now making the data available is probably BECAUSE the NYT sued the agency.
I wasnt able to load the link so couldn't read it but I am pretty sure that it has been there all the time as I have been looking at the figures for some months now, depending when they sued them of course. Do you have a date?

ETA I looked elsewhere and it was apparently county level data that was missing and was requested in a FOI request. Probably why I didnt notice as I was not looking for that level of detail when I was reading the info.

Here are some UK demographics.

Why are more BAME people dying from coronavirus?

Well in March it was probably in an elevator, on public transport, bar, restaurant you name it. They thought it was pneumonia initially.

He's flying commercial. No mask, no test to date. No direct flights to DC from Mexico City so he'll land somewhere in the US and change plans. Great, him and his entourage. They won't be tested until they reach DC?!

I think American, United and Delta are flying that route, American would stop at DFW/Dallas TX United would stop at IAH/Houston  and Delta would stop ATL/Atlanta GA.

Like Trump, López Obrador does not wear a mask in public and has opted for opening the economy over onerous lockdown measures. López Obrador has also said he has no need to get tested for the virus, even though several officials near him, including his treasury secretary, have tested positive.

Adding to López Obrador's risk, he will be flying on a commercial airline to Washington, D.C. He refuses to use the presidential plane, calling it too extravagant for a country as poor as Mexico. Without a direct flight from Mexico City to D.C., López Obrador will have to make a stop in a major U.S. city and arrive the night before his meeting with Trump. And he'll have to get tested in the U.S. too.

A White House spokesman said everyone in the Mexican traveling delegation will be tested for COVID-19.

López Obrador wants to celebrate the start of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement, that went into effect last week.

Mexico's President Weathers A 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Of Criticism Over Meeting With Trump

Sheesh! Can't they do a zoom party? Why the cost and risk of this when hundreds of thousands of their people are suffering? What is the point?

The point is to give the appearance that life is now back to business as usual. Nothing to see here.

President Trump "is enabling the virus," New York governor says

Responding to President Trump’s unfounded claim that 99% of coronavirus cases are "totally harmless,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo criticized him for “enabling the virus.”

“What he’s saying to the American people is that there's no problem. And then they don’t wear a mask, and they don’t socially distance, and hey don’t take any precautionary behavior and then the virus goes like this,” Cuomo said. “He is facilitating the virus. He is enabling the virus by [making] statements like that. And you're seeing the infection rate go up and you’re seeing the economy suffer."

"He is part of that current debacle that we are in,” he added. The governor cited President Trump’s various prior claims about the Covid-19 that have been proven wrong and his refusal to wear a mask to say that the President wants to “deny the Covid virus.”

“He won't wear a mask. Vice President Pence says, 'wear a mask.' All the health officials say, 'wear the mask.' He won't wear a mask because he doesn't want to admit that there is a Covid virus. Why? I have no idea," Cuomo added.

Cuomo added that the way to combat coronavirus is by first admitting that there is a problem.

“You will never solve a problem in life that you refuse to admit. Why he refuses to admit it I have no idea. You have a White House coronavirus task force. Why have a task force if there's no problem?”

Well haven't we all been living with it since March anyway? This is our regular normal now. It's not new anymore and will continue till a vaccine is available or we have herd immunity.
