Yes, I have a friend and spouse who are in denial. They own a small store too. Someone is running the store for ten days while they drive to and through KS, MO, TN and AL.

The husband said he is rebelling and refuses to wear a mask. He said he will pin the mask to his shirt and say “See I am wearing it”.

Meanwhile, wife said she has gone back and forth to Colorado and never got sick and none of her clients have either. Her doctor told her if she felt fine she could work at their store. The doctor said they do not have to self quarantine even thought CO and KS have issued orders through out Covid. What a doctor!

Meanwhile, the husband also drives a school bus and said he is not wearing a mask. He is going to say and do the ‘pin this mask to the shirt’. Many people have told him he will lose his job. His reply, he won’t just wait and see.

To make matters worse they let their 9 month grand baby crawl around the dirty store floor and be held by anyone who wants to.

They do as they want. They won’t listen to anyone...ages mid to late 50’s. With KS having stricter mask requirements, there is an unknown group that have gone around the town observing business that are in violation and turning them into the authorities.

Violations are not making customers/ clients wear a mask, staff not wearing a mask, having more people in the store then allowed, and not wiping the public areas down. I have no idea who the unknown group is but they did get several business violating the rule in the beginning of Covid.

When the couple come back from their trip, I along with others will not be going into the store for 3 weeks....at least.

I hope no one gets sick, but this couple will only learn by the “school of hard knocks”. I hope their grand baby does not get sick too....an innocent little one. A person can only ‘carry wolf’ so many times and then the worse happens.

Why can people not listen. They say forcing them to wear a mask violates their freedom.....will what about the rest of us who wear a mask. Our freedoms are being violated by these non mask people.

I am in that group of people who have to be extra careful. I am allergic to all medications with sulfa, sulfate, sulfite, iodine, and penicillin in it. You would not believe where Sulfas can be found in things. So if I get sick, a medication can cause my death. I am not the only one either!

why are people so stupid! Thanks for listening and everyone stay safe.

The worst part is that they are exposing a 9 month old to getting this.

It may sound like a small thing, but not being able to sit at a bartop video poker machine would keep me from going, and we are huge fans. I can't quite figure out why closing off two out of every three bartop machines wouldn't work, but very little since March has made sense to me.

I was in my small town grocery store and a lady clerk was wearing her mask ON HER CHIN!

My DH got a haircut the other day, I said, “What? Do you know how long it’s been since I had my hair cut? It’s been six months.” Then I asked if the employees there were wearing masks, no they weren’t. He didn’t wear his because, get this..... he can’t get his hair cut with a mask on. Why? No good answer.

To put it mildly, I was not happy. He knows better. This is the salon I want to report, even thought of going by there when they reopen next week and taking photos.

There's nobody at the door checking to see if you have a mask on. I imagine that once they are inside the store it may be difficult to remove them.

I wonder if the clerk said anything to them at checkout?

Our grocery store and Walmart both have signs posted that masks are required, and only one entrance / exit open. At the grocery, there’s someone watching people come in, and at the back a manager looking guy was watching and writing something in a large notebook.

Walmart has people outside handing out masks for those who don’t have one. Unfortunately I still saw a handful of people inside without a mask. SMH
I wish they would fully enforce it, but maybe they’re trying to avoid a confrontation that could potentially get out of hand.

When the virus outbreak returns to NY & NJ, stuff is really going to hit the fan.

Although, current studies show that from 22-67% of New Yorkers have CV antibodies. I think the Red Cross is doing the same thing they're doing here in California (giving all people who donate blood an antibody test). Plus, several universities went and did random sampling throughout the greater Metropolitan area. Upstate New York has rural/smaller town people who could really have it sweep through, but Buffalo and Ithaca look to have about 22% who already have antibodies.

That's similar to France or Italy, and if reopening is handled with a close idea on positivity (and employers asking for regular testing)..I don't think NY needs to have a second wave.

You are right that there are still an apparent 10 million (at least) adult New Yorkers who have yet to get CoVid.

Exactly, it is not going to end anytime in the foreseeable future when people can't even take the measures that finally ended the 1918/1919/1920 pandemic.

They wore masks, they closed theatres and schools and borders. Public spaces were disinfected. It had a second wave, and a third wave.

It is not going to just 'end' all by itself.

Are you in jurisdiction where it's mandated? Because if so, WalMart needs more security guards (who can then alert police if the person is uncooperative)

There are also people who legitimately can't wear masks (moderate to severe COPD, etc)

They could still wear a bandanna style face covering, though (which allows the same amount of oxygen to reach nose and mouth, but prevents the big cone-of-virus effect.

Wisconsin reports highest single-day Covid-19 increase

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 926 new cases of Covid-19 Saturday, the highest increase in new positive cases to date, according to a tweet from the agency.

Yesterday was the previous highest single day case increase, the tweet said, with 845 new positive cases reported Friday, the tweet said.

A total of 35,679 positive cases have been reported statewide. There are currently 3,797 people hospitalized in the state, with 31 new hospitalizations reported Saturday.

Cuomo says Northeast will likely see rise in COVID-19 cases due to surge in other parts of country

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Friday warned that the resurgence of the coronavirus pandemic in the South and on the West Coast could lead to the virus once again finding a foothold in the Northeast.

"You're going to see our numbers and the Northeast numbers probably start to increase because the virus that you see now in the South and the West — California has real trouble — it's going to come back here," Cuomo said in a radio interview. "It is going to come back here. It's like being on a merry-go-round. It's totally predictable. And we're going to go through an increase. I can feel it coming. And it is so unnecessary and so cruel."

That has always been my worry. We have suffered so and I see the writing on the wall...we are in for more devastation.

Wisconsin reports highest single-day Covid-19 increase

Vermont reports its lowest 7-day positivity average

The state of Vermont has a seven day positivity average of 0.5%, the lowest in the country, Gov. Phil Scott said in a tweet Saturday.

Scott encouraged Vermonters to "remain vigilant" and continue to wear a mask when it's not possible to physically distance.

Vermont Department of Health has reported a total of 1,283 cases and 56 deaths, according to its website.

Only six new cases were reported Saturday and two people are currently hospitalized, the department said.

A total of 75,032 people have been tested in the state, according to the department's website.

Businesses do have the right to require masks though. Unfortunately Walmart was still letting people in without one. Two of the people were younger men and healthy looking, no way they have any respiratory issues. I did notice how they looked rather defiant when anyone looked at them.

South Carolina sets new daily Covid-19 infection record

The South Carolina Department of Health announced the highest number of reported positive cases of Covid-19 in one day.

On Saturday, the state reported 2,239 cases, breaking the previous high number by 300 cases, according to the state's department of health.

The health department also announced a 22.2% positivity rate, also a new high.

South Carolina reported its first pediatric death associated with Covid-19 today.

I just got home from the grocery store. Last week everyone was wearing their masks. This week I saw two lady's with a small child who were without masks. Everyone else was wearing their masks and doing so properly.

I wonder what is going on in the minds of the people who are in a store and they are the only ones not wearing a mask?

"Gosh, I'm really safe here - too bad about the people I might be infecting"

Of course, since a lot of people really don't get how this is transmitted, they probably aren't thinking that last thing. I know people who truly do believe they have divine protection (and, actually, was once one of them, until jarred out of that perspective when I left home and went out into the Big World).

One more quick vent and then I will stop talking about my family....but....here is an example that happened just today...in the past months, since March...my sisters and brothers have all worn masks, sat outside with my parents (even though they really tried hard to get them to come inside the house) and distanced themselves outside very carefully...sometimes they would just leave stuff on the front porch for them and wave bye as they left.

Today, all has changed. Now they are inside my parents house (mind you after hanging out with quite a few people last night) and sitting in their small kitchen with them looking at a video on a tablet all together..(family video )

This is what happens...and yes, I do feel it in myself...at times, but then I know myself. I would rather sleep at night then not- worrying about if today was the day I got Covid because of my actions.

Tabitha, it wouldn't hurt to remind them that they need to reset their level of care. The risks are higher each day, not reduced because of the actions taken yesterday that left no consequences. Sometimes I drop my guard, but I would be thankful if someone noticed and pointed out my lack of attention.

Report them to your County Public Health each time you go. While there may not be a fine, businesses do have to respond to repeated black marks on their county health record. Surely the public health people will take it seriously (they sure are, where I live, it's about the only thing they're doing right).

Those two young men were, in fact, being defiant and are by far more likely to be spreaders, due to being nearly asymptomatic (if they have it).
