@tresir2012 , I’m checking out after the night shift as always, but would like to ask if you could please do me a favor and pull up the latest list of nations who are collaborating for COVAX and the ACT Accelerator. I appreciate it. The list grows daily, sadly the US could be on that list, and help the world. It is a global collaboration, pooled research, etc. I am behind on the latest two World Health Organization PCs.

I don't think US are on it but Bill Gates has donated right? But the spat with WHO and how they sucked up to China early on is behind that I think. UK are now the top contributor to WHO AFAIK.

I think we may have to watch in real time the meaning of the phrase 'exponential growth'.

Even if each person only infects 3 others, soon those 3 each have infected 3 others, and the numbers go like: 1, 3, 9, 81, 243.

There will be cases outside the White House that we don't hear about: spouses, friends, supporters.

However, I hope that as of today, there will be strong measures to stop the spread. How could there not be?

When/if nine people triple in number, it's 27. By postulating that the next step from 9 infected people is 81 infected people, you are in fact increasing that by a value of 10x... yes? (9x? I'm not Math Girl by any means, but I do know that 9 x 9 is what = 81.)

I freely admit I'm broaching this as "anecdata", but I've seen many a medical professional on SM saying stuff like "yeah, regular surgical masks are zero protection against viruses; and I've been told this for as long as I've been in contagious environs. If you don't have N95, you had might as not be wearing the masks."

This seems weird and wrong, until you note/realize that the main purpose of non-N95 surgical (i.e., the traditional "I am wearing a mask!!!" blue) masks in the OR, is so THEY aren't breathing bacteria and viruses into your open cuts and wound sites.

You as patient, after all, never wear a mask.

When when when will feel like we are Americans together again. Our foreign enemies are just so thrilled at the destruction of our democracy, our citizens against each other, over this virus.

If you personally had the command of what would help ALL OF US TOGETHER what would you command to be done.... What would you do to help America, as we stand out in the world the way we do?

He's already got the virus. Wearing a mask wont help him now. Come on.

But it will help others.... This is why I find the mask thing so ... it's not always about the almight "me".. its about others too.

When one of my necessary establishments employees finally started to wear masks.... I said "thank you so much" to each one...

its about all of us.

Also, so much for tests on boarding aircrafts and cruises if this is the best there is.

Has anyone wondered if there was sabotage or someone actually responsible for this monumental up? Who needs a gun when you can kill with Covid?

Trump was in Bedminster NJ hours before positive COVID test

New Jersey Governor Murphy said in a statement that "the contact-tracing process is underway" and he urged everyone who attended the event in Bedminster to take full precautions, including quarantining and getting tested.

The state Department of Health is working with the Somerset County Health Department to try determining potential risk of exposure to attendees and staff of the club, said agency spokeswoman Dawn Thomas.

"As the investigation proceeds, the Department of Health will assist Somerset County in notifying health departments affected in other counties, as well as out of state health departments," Thomas said in a statement.

Hicks flew with Trump to Minnesota for a "Make America Great Again" rally. Trump then arrived in New Jersey on Thursday. Minnesota is one of 34 states under an advisory issued by Gov. Phil Murphy recommending that travelers quarantine for 14 days.

I have only been able to flit in and out of WS recently but as ever appreciate all of you here keeping up this important info and discussion on Covid. But had to come and post my best wishes for our US friends that your president and first lady (and all others) make a speeedy recovery. As so many people here posted their prayers and best wishes for our PM and expectant partner when they were at risk when I posted back then. And when so many people are having to deal with so much loss, it just makes the days seem even darker and overwhelming.
Whatever your politics, instability and uncertainty over a country's leadership is worrying and upsetting. And I think the US has had more than its share of hardships, natural and man-made this year. I think a lot of us view the winter with dread as we head into it with cases in a lot of our home countries nowhere near low enough. And potentially even more threats to our livelihoods and homes with the economic fall-out.
As your very likeable Dr. Fauci says we have to hunker down, keep on doing what we can do and support the frontline workers as much as we can. I know as a former nurse just how much a thank you from a patient or family meant to me. Every life we can save is worth saving, every business and job we can adapt and keep going is worth it and every vulnerable person we can reach out to safely and make them a little less lonely is worth it. I absolutely believe great days are ahead and we will appreciate it so much when we can hug, gather together again and party! when all the fantastic efforts of the scientists and health workers have beaten this thing. We can keep life going in the meantime by meeting up safely at a distance, using technology and looking after each other. And it will be the best spring ever.

I haven't seen Dr. Seheult give an update, but here is Dr. Hansen (for those who have been following threads for a long time, he does lots of COVID updates and is well respected for such). If you don't have the 19 minutes for the video, there is a substantial summary below the video of what is said in the video explaining the treatments he's gotten, and also what to potentially expect for docs to be first doing etc..
