SLATER SCOOP: Miami Dolphins have been given clearance to go to full capacity of 65,000 fans at Hard Rock Stadium, Gov. DeSantis’ spokesperson tells me. The team, though, says their current plan of 13,000 fans remains the same for their next home game on Oct. 25.

Dr. Conley on Monday said that because of Trump’s unusual level of treatment so early after discovery of his illness he was in “uncharted territory," adding that Trump would not be fully “out of the woods” for another week.

Conley has noted coronavirus can become more dangerous as the body responds, with days seven through ten "the most critical in determining the likely course of this illness.”

He has repeatedly declined to share results of medical scans of Trump’s lungs, saying he was not at liberty to discuss the information because Trump did not waive doctor-patient confidentiality on the subject.

It is hard to believe a trusted organization like the WHO has made so many jaw dropping statements- specifically involving masks and how the virus is transmitted -- they also initially said (get this) that they did not think the virus was transmitted from one human to another. SMH

That is why it is sad MOO that so many do not agree with the role of WHO. Yet to this day, some in position of leadership to this day are not espousing that it can be transmitted human to human with examples of how to prevent.

MOO

They, at that time, didn't have scientific proof. Which is their standard. Many many here were following in January and not until late January did we understand. It took many of the "first adopters" and followers of science an entire month to get it... and then.... we got it late January.

Many world leaders understood that their hands were tied, and to this day still are as to such.

It's kinda like requirements for double blind placebo's which are required. 95% of folks probably cannot understand the why behind such for approvals, nor understand the basics.

Not a slam to the 95%... as they haven't been trained in such and it's very hard indeed to realay to those on the 7th grade education level to the masses...

Not necessarily. That sure isn't happening here or where my family lives (Hawaii - Big Island). No kids in the streets anywhere I go.
I do remember seeing an article that had two kids sat in a car park outside a burger bar to access their Wifi for their online classes but cannot remember where that was. How is the Wifi in Hawaii?

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told reporters Wednesday that Trump had wanted to be in the Oval Office on Tuesday, and safety preparations are underway in the event he moves from the residence to the West Wing.

Meadow added that ventilation is also being addressed for when the president returns to the West Wing. The president is expected to return to the Oval Office as soon as Wednesday, senior administration officials said, and so-called "isolation carts" with personal protective equipment are being set up with gowns, masks, and goggles. Staff are expected to wear them if they are going to come within six feet of the president.

Meadows said he will receive an update from Conley on Trump's health Wednesday.

Officials also said the president recorded a video inside the White House on Tuesday that has yet to be released, but could come out later in the day.

The White House had been exploring the use of the Diplomatic Reception Room and Map Room for Trump to work and make television appearances. Both rooms are on the ground floor of the residence and close to the White House Medical Unit.

On Wednesday morning, Larry Kudlow, Trump's top economic adviser, said the president did work in the Oval Office on Tuesday. "The president actually showed up in the Oval Office yesterday with extra precautions with respect to his COVID-19, and he is getting a lot better. He's much stronger. So there was some limited activity," Kudlow said.

But Ben Williamson, a White House spokesman, said Kudlow was incorrect.

"While the president wanted to be in the Oval Office yesterday, he was not there—he stayed back in the residence working from there. Safety preparations have been underway in the event he moves to working out of the Oval in the coming days," Williamson tweeted.

Trump has no public events scheduled Wednesday

Trump remained out of sight for a second day Wednesday as he recovers from COVID-19, with the White House offering scant details about his health and activities.

Lashing out on Twitter, the president remains largely isolated in White House residence, where aides were instructed to take extensive precautions to prevent themselves from catching the coronavirus from the contagious president.

Trump's physicians have not provided a substantive update on his health since Monday afternoon, including his medications and potential long term health impacts from the virus.

Hope he is getting some rest today.

So according to my count, we are at least at day 7 since onset of symptoms last Thursday. Hoping and praying that the President gets through this next phase of COVID without any changes.

The second presidential debate will depend on Trump's health and whether debate crew can be safe around him

The Commission on Presidential Debate is still planning for the second presidential debate. However, it’s not without concern. Everything depends on the President’s health status and whether people around him, including the commission’s crew, will be safe.

“It’s going to depend on what the doctors say about his health, whether or not only will he be safe, but the people around him be safe,” he said. “We're concerned about our staff and workers here. We have a crew of about 65 people who work on these things. So it's going to depend on what the medical evidence is and what the advice we get whether or not it's safe to go forward.”

“We're going forward with our planning for both the second and final one in Nashville,” Fahrenkopf added. “We will make decisions and spend time after [the vice presidential debate] is in the can tonight as to what we're going to do for the next one, once we get that advice."

Its only the US and to some degree Australian leaders that are not happy with WHO AFAIK. So I am wondering who are these untrained 95% 7th grade education peeps that you mention?

Our President is allowed to have indoor rallies, a fundraising event, held indoors at a Country Club in New Jersey.

NJ Governor Murphy investigating fundraiser possible violations. President is obligated to obey laws too.

Murphy also said his administration is investigating whether the Thursday fundraising event at Trump's golf club in Bedminster violated the governor's executive orders by exceeding capacity limits and providing a buffet meal to the 206 attendees.

I really think you're misinterpreting your own link. It's easy to do, though.

Your link is about writing PR material, it isn't MSM.

From your link:

To be clear, none of this is about underestimating the intelligence of your audience. It isn’t about talking down to them either.

Your target audience may be college educated, intellectually curious, and capable of understanding complex information. Even so, you probably shouldn’t treat them that way.

Hold on a sec. I lost a tab and need to go back and forth here and edit.

They're talking about creating engaging content, not declaring only 5% of "the masses" are on a certain intellectual level. JMO

Are you targeting your audience at the right literacy level?

Edit done, thanks.

I hope, after all the articles about PPE being used by WH staff, the press will take this to heart.

I hope to see these folks in PPE when reporting from the WH. So far they seem to be reporting from the lawn, but surely they encounter staff, secret service, and others when checking in and setting up.

Its up to each of us to protect ourselves from known risk. Moo...

Wow. Some speedy recovery. So are we on day 5 of the treatment IIRC?
3000 a day for fall and winter (the period of time mentioned by Fauci) would be about 540,000 deaths. There are about 182 days in those two seasons.

He seems to be predicting 1500-2000 deaths per day, though - which surely would be labeled a Second Wave by MSM (and most people).

Death rates should be at least a third lower (demographics), but hospitals would still be on overwhelm and states that are already struggling mightily (especially in the Northern interior states) would get a disproportionate share of cases.

So far, we're not seeing an early autumn uptick - but some states seem to have out of control CoVid this week, with the possibility for rapid exponential growth next week.

Wild card variables include the various reopenings. California is moving more counties to indoor dining, museums and some attractions opening, at reduced levels - but still. It remains to be seen if the reduced levels work but also...whether people obey the rules.

I do wonder if Fauci foresees mid-January to mid-March as an out-of-control nightmare of CoVid.
I was thinking he means November, December and January as we are nearly halfway thru Autumn now. Either way it is a massive increase in deaths.

I agree. If people want to do those activities, let them. I have never been an advocate of "Nanny Style" governing. Other people, like me, are staying home. All about choice.

Yeah, I agree too. I have had that position since mid-April, when it became clear what the demographics are (worldwide) and what the effects on the general social fabric, including money, would be.

Thing is, even in Sweden, where it was always voluntary to stay home or self-isolate, older people (starting at around age 40) are simply not doing the things they did before.

I have hours and hours of live cam from Paris, and in the first lockdown, mask wearing on the streets (where it was required) seemed to be around 70%. Now, I'd say in this second lockdown, it's 90% but...people in both cases were still packed into cafés - and now they are indoors!

When they are in cafés, they do not wear masks. They also lower their masks outdoors to smoke (which seems very sensible to the French, according to my colleagues there).

I've gotten to a calm place with those who don't wear masks (I can use the extra steps of crossing the street to avoid them, I'm in no hurry). I'm fine with everyone who wants to go indoors to a restaurant (we just opened restaurants to 25% indoor capacity where I live - with outdoor spaces through street closures still being very popular).

No one I work with or that I have in any real world friend group is going to go to an indoor restaurant or bar or retail space. Zero. This includes administrative and other staff. No one from my university friend group will go. Meanwhile, teens have the least spending power they've had in 20 years (says MSM). 20 and 30-somethings are among the most highly underemployed/non-working group - they too have little disposable income.

The lack of consistent messaging - and actual public education - makes it so sad. Teens and 20-30 year olds cannot support the economy, even in the companionship of the 40-80 year olds who are willing to go back out (about 35% of them? 40%)

If we look at the states that have gained control over CoVid (NYT allows access to all to its wonderful set of charts and maps), it's been done through mitigation measures (closures) until positivity rates are below 3% and preferably 1%.
