I'm happy he's improved but horrified and disgusted by his irresponsible and damaging comments before leaving.

What a lost opportunity. And what a slap in the face to the rest of us who don't have access to what he does.

I think he should hold back the celebrations just yet. This virus can take a funny turn and for myself days 6 - 8 felt pivotal (and I'm more than 20 years younger). Although of course, I didnt have drugs and specialist care other than other than paracetamol and Mr HKP making cups of tea.

I obviously hope he recovers, but wish he wouldnt down play it. I actually feel mildly offended - I tell everyone: it took me down, dont get it, I'm afraid of getting it again.

Are you including the WH as not following manufacturers' instructions with their tests? Have you a link? That is putting the President at risk.

You can look at it either way. By "label" we mean "that entire packet of instructions that comes with the drug,"

The WH started using the tests despite the manufacturer's early warning that it was as much as 50% inaccurate in asymptomatic cases. First, the FDA wouldn't approve it for use among the asymptomatic but then bowed to WH pressure and within a day or two, the WH had purchased 150,000,000 tests. They are available on the open market now and hundreds of thousands of people are using these tests before parties, before sporting events, etc.

Nearly 1/3 of COVID patients had altered mental state.

Nearly a third of hospitalized Covid-19 patients experienced some type of altered mental function — ranging from confusion to delirium to unresponsiveness — in the largest study to date of neurological symptoms among coronavirus patients in an American hospital system.

And patients with altered mental function had significantly worse medical outcomes, according to the study, published on Monday in Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology. The study looked at the records of the first 509 coronavirus patients hospitalized, from March 5 to April 6, at 10 hospitals in the Northwestern Medicine health system in the Chicago area.

Some experts said that President Trump, currently hospitalized with the coronavirus, is of the age and gender of the patients in the study who were more likely to develop altered mental function and therefore could be at higher risk for such symptoms. He also has a history of high cholesterol, one of the pre-existing conditions that appear to increase risk. But the president’s doctors have given no indication that he has had any neurological symptoms.

Altered mental function was not the only neurological complication the Northwestern study found. Over all, 82 percent of the hospitalized patients had neurological symptoms at some point in the course of the disease from symptom onset through hospitalization, the study found.

What really bothers me is seeing people shut off from their loved ones and people suffering greatly because they can't pay their rent. I've read that child abuse and the suicide rate have gone exponentially due to the shutdowns.

I think those things bother everyone. A lot.

Is there an answer?

Is there a way to stop so MANY people from dying from covid, and minimise all of the bad flow-on effects at the same time?

We also know a person with Covid can be completely without symptoms and can be infectious. For example, Kayleigh McEnany tested positive today and says she has no symptoms. She said she had negative tests for the previous three days (since Thursday).

Seems a reasonable idea (to me) that Kayleigh contracted the virus from Hope Hicks. The link below shows that Kayleigh and Hope both were at last Tuesday's debate and traveled to Minnesota on Wednesday.

Today in a meeting I forgot a v ordinary word. I was going to post about it, as an example. Honest to god, I have forgotten the word again! It's embarrassing at work. I just laugh and say I'm having brain fog, but it's not really funny when you're normally quite articulate.

Suicide rates in the US were rising steadily for 2 years before CoVId, so we'd need to disentangle all the reasons (there are lots of studies, but this isn't a place where we can do a seminar on it),

The literature on DV and being isolated at home, by contrast, is 30 years old and definitely predicted the rise.

If it is true that more Americans committed suicide or considered it due to the shutdown (and disentangle economic factors from working-at-home-getting-same-income factors), then we have to ponder why America specifically has this issue as compared to other even-more-tightly-locked down nations, where economies were really poor to begin with.

Perhaps it's the fear so many have that they can't go to a doctor or hospital due to no insurance. But I need to see studies to relate the continued increase in fentanyl deaths (which is driving the suicide statistics) to be related specifically to CoVid...

I thought of you, obvs! Must be 5 or 6 months since you had it. An acquaintance of mine, age 40, had one of the earliest cases in March (she was very ill while I was still vaguely considering buying extra loo roll) and she is still suffering extreme fatigue and aching limbs. It's knocked her for six.

Worrying that so many are still having after effects, but at least now doctors will be able to treat patients accordingly.

Do you think it's just coincidence that overdoses, suicides, and domestic violence started trending upward? I think my state differentiates between fentanyl overdoses and suicides, though. Jmo

March 20th for me. I know the date as it was the Friday before lockdown. Headache from hell hit me around 6am, pow.

Sometimes it gets me down. I think what has it done to me (and what might it still do)? And should I have the word "format" tattooed on my arm, in case I forget it again...?!

The fatigue days are the worst, frustrating. Mr HKP is concerned and sad, I hate to see that on his face.

This story is much ado about nothing. Rapid test results give false positives and false negatives all the time, so one would not expect the President of the United States to mention that the results of the rapid test that was immediately followed by a PRC test - which the President was transparent about during his interview with Hannity on Thursday night while he was waiting for the test results. As soon as he received the results, he let everyone know at 1 a.m. His telephone interview with Hannity was completely transparent, I listened to it/watched it live on Thursday night. So we all knew then that there was a good possibility that his PCR test would be positive, which was confirmed at 1 a.m. by the President, himself.

Then what is the point of taking a rapid test?
