.Masks should be used in individuals' own homes when a household member is infected or has recently been possibly exposed to the virus.

I’ve been struggling with deciding to wear a mask at home or not since october (and previously in the spring). I mean it’s no big deal if I do I guess. Other than it’s my only time without wearing one. The other (teen/adult) people in the house spend most of the time in other rooms so it’s not like we’re an upclose and cuddly bunch. I do share the dinner table with them on the weekends, but I might start taking my plate elsewhere given the *eating with others* risk.

My main reason for getting vaxed ASAP is to not bring covid home to the fam. And I’m not even sure if the vax would help with that at all?

Replying to my own post, to add. This description is identical to the side effects of my last flu shot, except that fever was only 102. I was over it by the next day. And no, I did not catch the flu from the vaccine. It was my immune system ramping up a great response, for which I am thankful!

In the coming months, I am looking forward to reading as Websleuths posters report that they received the Vaccine.

Perhaps there should be a Thread Dedicated to allowing people to simply post that they got Vaccinated, along with any complications or side effects experienced and/or the brand of vaccine it was.

It's OK, you don't need to worry about them, they'll be fine.

They have full access to all the good stuff that us lemmings and common folk would NEVER have available to them. They can get whisked away to a hospital at the first signs of trouble, where we would be told to go home, take some aspirin, and shelter in place while hoping for the best.

Iirc from my baby days, they used to recommend giving Tylenol before a shot appointment (or right after at least). To help with the potential fever/pain. I don’t know if that’s still the case.

At this time, with so much COVID raging everywhere, it's certainly possible you'd at least feel safer if you wore a mask at home. Anyway, I figure everyone's risk is higher from now until mid-January. We've started wearing masks anytime we go in the yard, even though people don't come that close to us and it is outdoors.

Maybe bump up your Vitamin D as well?

That's a very high rate of non-cooperation. I have to wonder what's behind it?

Are they fining people for infractions? While fines are meant to deter rulebreaking they're a quick way to keep people from revealing who they had contact with if it might get those people into trouble.

I can't imagine 74% of New Jersey residents don't believe in Covid--after all--the state is pretty much a Democratic stronghold. I'm guessing there's another reason so many are not cooperating with contact tracing -- and I would hazard a guess it has to do with fines or other punishments. But, that's only my opinion. I really have no clue.

I wonder if some of it is because so many people simply don't answer phone calls from strangers. Texts would be better - but then you have to depend on people taking the time to call back as instructed.

Most of the time, I don't even play voice messages from people not already in my contacts list, because...it's 99% spam.

"I'm doing fine,” Rudy Giuliani says on WABC from the hospital. "Pretty much all the symptoms are gone. I have no fever, I have very little cough, it's just about also gone, I've been walking around, and I think they're going to let me out tomorrow morning."

How wonderful that he was able to receive immediate response to his positive Covid test. Glad that he is feeling better, after the best medical care available.

Did he meet some sort of medical, "Triage" criteria for immediate medical action?

Just in contrast, here is an article about a woman, who couldn't even get a Covid test. And her symptoms were so minor, she was turned away...she is dead.

Too bad he didn't see fit to actually purchase as much Pfizer vaccine as "foreign nations" did. We now wait in line behind other nations, who have their orders in. We only purchased 100,000,000 doses (so enough for 50 million people). The Trump administration declined to place an order for another batch that would have arrived around end of March/beginning of April 2021.
