The mutated strain from the UK has entered the community here is Queensland Australia.

I recieved an email from the childrens hospital here as they are going into minor lockdown with no visitors. My 3 year old is chronically ill so everytime there is an outbreak we have to isolate to keep her safe.

A cleaner who was cleaning the hotels where Australians have to stay for 14 days after returning home from overseas has caught the strain. She has been on public transport to the city and home again and been to the grocery store twice.

The government must be concerned about this strain coming into the community as they have locked down hospitals and aged care places as soon as they found out what strain it was.

The confirmation comes as aged care facilities have been placed in lockdown across Greater Brisbane, including Metro North, Metro South and West Moreton Hospital and Health Services.

Visits to hospitals and disability accommodation have also been banned.

The woman, aged in her 20s, is the first locally acquired case to be contracted from hotel quarantine in Queensland.

Congressman announces he's positive for COVID-19 four hours after voting on House floor

Late Wednesday evening, Congressman Jake LaTurner received a positive test result for COVID-19.
Congressman LaTurner took the test as part of Washington DC’s travel guidelines that requires visitors be tested. He is not experiencing any symptoms at this time.

Congressman LaTurner is following the advice of the House physician and CDC guidelines and, therefore, does not plan to return to the House floor for votes until he is cleared to do so.
