Congratulations on the safe arrival!! You've been in my mind and on my heart for these past few months.

Aww, thanks for thinking of us. I'd been meaning to come back and update people. I've missed everyone and this thread. I hope everyone else is doing well. I know I'd been away for months. I ended up with preeclampsia but in the end everything worked out well and I made it to 37 weeks. Baby did great and no issues with her.

We were super careful about avoiding all exposure to covid while I was pregnant. I got Pfizer at 26 and 30 weeks. I was really hoping for some sense of normalcy once baby was here. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. My teens have all been vaccinated as well. None of us had reactions beyond a sore arm. I guess we just need to make it through this next big wave.....

Apparently your new baby will have some antibodies from your vaccinations and will continue to get antibodies while you are breastfeeding.

I've been to Canada once, skiing, and it was so freaking cold I've never had any desire to go back. Not really sure who goes there from the US. Maybe it impacts commercial trucking for the most part...idk

LOL
oh man ... nope it doesn't
and it's not always that cold

I had not read this! But I did hear he was removing all his articles. I read people in online health groups freaking out over it. It basically just all confirms their persecution complex though. They won't take it seriously that he spreads misinformation.

Oh, and get this! Our Aldi cashier yesterday actually asked my husband if he'd heard of Dr Mercola. I was shocked he immediately replied with: "I have and I'm not a fan."

She's also told him there are new studies showing a connection between COVID and 5G at a previous shopping visit. So the Aldi cashier is a straight up conspiracy theorist and is bringing it up with all the customers.

She also brought up the Weston A Price Foundation. I am familiar with them but went to see what they were saying about covid. Here's a good taste of what the crazies are reading out there.
Is Coronavirus Contagious? - The Weston A. Price Foundation

I am surprised that he didn't end the article with "Oh BTW, the earth is flat".

I wonder why these conspiracy theorists are so determined to try to pull others into their conspiracies. I don't understand their motivation. To make themselves feel more 'normal', if they can gain ground with rational people?

Tennessee reported more COVID-19 cases in children as schools resume

On Tuesday, the state's health chief, Dr. Lisa Piercey, said the delta variant is spreading quickly in children, who also tend to show symptoms shortly after exposure. This is significant because it could indicate a much faster incubation time than previous versions of the coronavirus.

The department also projected children's hospitals in Tennessee will be completely full by the end of next week.

Two children died at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis over the weekend. An 11-year-old in West Memphis died on Monday from COVID-19, as reported by The Commercial Appeal.

Pediatricians urge FDA to work 'aggressively' on a vaccine for young kids
More at link
The Food and Drug Administration must work "aggressively" toward authorizing a Covid-19 vaccine for children under age 12, the head of the American Academy of Pediatrics wrote in a letter to Dr. Janet Woodcock, acting commissioner of the FDA.

The urgent plea comes as the U.S. experienced the "largest week-over-week percentage increase in pediatric Covid cases since the start of the pandemic," Dr. Lee Savio Beers, the academy's president, wrote in the letter Thursday.

Pediatric cases of Covid-19 have soared in recent weeks in part because of the highly contagious delta variant, raising worries among parents and doctors just as schools are reopening for the fall semester.

"The delta variant has created a new and pressing risk to children and adolescents across this country," Beers wrote in the letter to the FDA.

According to the latest data available from the pediatric academy, 38,654 pediatric Covid cases were reported during the week of July 22. Within a week, on July 29, that number jumped 85 percent, to 71,726.

If children's hospitals are already getting full in some states, it's not going to be good when the schools start and covid spreads like wild fire. Cause authorities decided children need to be educated in person, and large numbers of them remain un-vaccinated, covid is going to spread like wild fie.

Yes, NSW is having a major issue with non compliance from specific zones. It is really peeing the rest of us off. I had a bit of a rant about it, off thread.
They don't seem to get that if they don't straighten up and do what is best for all, Sydney is going to be locked down for months.
Which means that all the people who are doing the right thing in NSW will be under ongoing tough restrictions.

Every other state is REALLY ticked off at NSW trying to put out spot fires (unsuccessfully), instead of shutting it down and doing it properly.

Every state has to be on high alert, and Victoria is in its SIXTH lockdown due to this. Because the other states lockdown properly.

NSW has several tower blocks locked down and under police watch, for two weeks, because they Just. Wont. Do. The. Right. Thing. To the detriment of all.

UNACCEPTABLE.

It is like watching rich nations scraping food into the bin, when little kids in other countries are starving to death.

RSV has been super bad in the south especially. I've noticed online in the last month that there are tons of baby's who end up hospitalized. I've never before been in due date groups online where so many little ones end up sick like this.

But there are apparently some other really bad respiratory illnesses going around. I have a friend in Missouri whose whole family got some severe respiratory illness. I thought covid but the tests for that and flu were negative.

It's odd that all these fall and winter illnesses are going around now. Would mask wearing and social distancing really cause this? Because most people stopped wearing masks or social distancing months ago. It just seems odd. But the whole world is odd right now...

My ears have been perking up in regards to these other viruses. I had to help get a friend to the ER last week--we were so sure that it was Covid. But it wasn't. He was in ICU for a number of days. I keep wondering if this is possibly a yet undiagnosed strain... I guess they know how to declare it is absolutely NOT covid... but then, what is it?

Wow... it is easy to see how easy it is to get sucked in. wow.

A good acquaintance died from Covid last week.... her last posts on facebook were some of these "international findings" about more infection with vaccinations etc etc.

I see that this appears to be a standard--bringing up all this questionable stuff 'around the world" that can not be investigated as easily....
