In cases like this, I hope they investigate to make sure he actually received a viable vaccine... And not one that had been spoiled, adulterated or swapped with saline solution.

'Naked in the world of COVID': Some J&J vaccine recipients feel unprotected against delta and want mRNA shots

'Naked in the world of COVID': Some J&J vaccine recipients feel unprotected against delta and want mRNA shots

Kevin Rosengren stared at the piece of paper in disbelief. No antibodies.

The 46-year-old resident of Richmond, Virginia, received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine in March. He was confident in the vaccine’s effectiveness and finally felt free to leave his house, travel and meet with friends.

But lately, news of the highly contagious delta variant driving a surge of COVID-19 cases worries him. He doesn’t want to bring the virus home to his unvaccinated 11-year-old son.

Rosengren confided in his pharmacist, who offered an antibody test to dispel his concerns. Unfortunately, the results only added to them.

“I had this coat of armor on before, and now I feel completely naked in the world of COVID,” he said.

Why is it that the DM headlines always puts a negative slant on a positive thing? "draconian"

They have a list called “big scary words” which they have to put in capitals for extra shock value.

And the crazy-making irony is that the "masks are all a conspiracy against freedom loving Americans" believe it's the GOVERNMENT that's behind the plot.
I wonder what they personally define as "government"?

FLORIDA SCHOOL DISTRICTS WITH MASK MANDATES MAY BE INVESTIGATED AND PUNISHED, STATE SAYS.

I thought I was reading this wrong-- I cannot believe I live in the United States where something this vile could occur during the worst public health crisis of our time- this is just sick.

They should try using "holiday" instead.

When we had our last 7 day lockdown, one of my work associates said how much he enjoyed it and wished it went for another week. He doesn't get a lot of relaxation time, or much time with his daughters, so he thoroughly enjoyed it. :D

Haha I've felt like that too

It was a relief to have some me time :)
It's awful I know but a nice feeling of being able to be alone in my snug home cocoon swept over me when I found out we were being locked down.
Then I felt guilty and selfish for feeling happy about it.

Yeah, the novelty wears off after a few months :D

Anybody here with the JJ shot? My elderly father and immune compromised sister don’t know what to do. I thought perhaps they could get the Moderna shots and not mention they had JJ shot but it seems there was lots of documentation when first shots were administered. Sorry if this has already been discussed. My sister asked her doctor and he said “not without FDA approval “. We prefer to get ahead of the ball if possible.

Guessing his daughters are older and not interrupting his work Zoom calls with mommy’s new makeup kit all over her face.

I can' t answer your question: the communication has been awful from the CDC- I expect we will get more information soon regarding booster shots with respect to Pfizer, Moderna and hopefully J&J- I think we are all in the dark really: I am trying to think how will we get those boosters? will we be called back by the entity where we got the first two shots or will we just go somewhere like a pharmacy to get the booster--- right now nothing is clear--

I don’t think you will be called back unless you got your first/second shot at your doctors office.
I don’t know how they would have the staff even at a pharmacy to contact everyone - staffing is a huge issue for all businesses.

My first call was to my primary care doctor and pulmonologist to see if they were compiling a list (they weren’t). Most likely scenarios in their opinion would be
large venue, regional medical or pharmacy.

Some counties in NC are doing boosters.
Some can get third dose of COVID vaccine in Wake, Johnston :: WRAL.com

COVID-19 booster shot for Pfizer, Moderna vaccines will be available Sept. 20

Americans who are eligible can receive a third shot beginning Sept. 20, pending authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which is expected in the coming weeks, according to a statement from the Department of Health and Human Services and other administration medical experts.

U.S. announces plan to offer boosters to all Americans starting in late September (nbcnews.com)

The additional doses will be available to people eight months after they received their second dose.

Top U.S. health officials announced Wednesday that the country has developed a plan to start offering Covid-19 booster shots to all Americans beginning the third week of September, citing evidence that protection is waning not only against hospitalization and death, but also mild and moderate infections, as the highly contagious delta variant continues to spread.

"Based on our latest assessment, the current protection against severe disease, hospitalization, and death could diminish in the months ahead, especially among those who are at higher risk or were vaccinated during the earlier phases of the vaccination rollout," federal health officials said in a joint statement Wednesday...

They say in the article the lockdown in NZ was economically crippling or some such thing as well and that scientists say Covid zero is impossible with Delta. Not the most encouraging article, is it!

We are watching the breaking news on TV now! Dr. Fauci is discussing a series of slides. We will be eligible for booster shots in October--I'm hoping early October since our second Pfizer shot was Feb 3.

I received an email yesterday from Walgreen's pharmacy, where my DH got his Pfizer shots. You had to make your appointment online when you got the first shot, so they have an email database. It was an email regarding how to make an appointment for the third shot.

Yes, they said to count 8 months from the day you got your second shot. So eligibility would be October 3rd. Earlier if immune compromised, of course. They are doing those boosters right now. Apparently you don't need a doctor's letter or documentation for the third shot at Walgreen's, I received an email from them yesterday about how to make an appointment online for the booster shot if you are eligible right now. No medical documentation needed.

Maybe the UNC health care system, where we got our shots, will do the same. I hope so!
