Krispy Kreme just sweetened its free doughnut promo for vaccinated people

Krispy-Kreme-Original-Glazed-Heart-Doughnut-Crop.jpg

Krispy Kreme is giving away two free doughnuts to vaccinated people every day for one week.

Customers who have received at least one vaccination shot are eligible for the weeklong “Show Your Heart" offer and can choose from the chain's Original Glazed Doughnut or a limited-edition Original Glazed Heart Doughnut. The special heart-shaped treat will also be available for sale throughout the week.

This week, the company unveiled its second free doughnut promotion for vaccinated people, and it's even sweeter than the first one.

Two days after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave full approval to the Pfizer vaccine, Krispy Kreme announced that customers who show proof of vaccination will be able to get two free doughnuts every day at their local store between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5, and one free doughnut daily for rest of year.

Not fair, no Krispy Kreme near me... ... :( ... Lol ... !

Or my most favorite myth recently, "Only FAT people or OLD people die from Covid".

Right. That myth needs to get busted out of the universe.

Consider it busted.

My old chubby grandmother lived to 99 yrs old.

Bad idea for people to compare their health to others.

There was this lady who was 10 years younger than this other lady of whom she worked with.

The younger lady made many snide remarks towards the older lady about age. You know, "I'm glad I'm not almost 50" etc....

So today the older lady is bursting with health and running around chasing after her grandson. The younger lady has stage IV breast cancer.

See how it's all relative?

The people cutting down older or heavier people saying they get Covid -- believe you me --- some of them who cut them down will be sitting in a hospital bed with oxygen up their noses crying into their Styrofoam hospital cups of H20 or grape juice. (Why do hospitals have such good grape juice?)

While the older or heavier individual enjoys their free Krispy Kreme because they were vaccinated.

** Never be arrogant over your health compared to others **

South Dakota Covid cases quintuple after Sturgis motorcycle rally

Two weeks after the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, reported Covid infections in the state have risen nearly sixfold.
South Dakota counted 3,819 new cases in the past two weeks, including seven deaths, up from 644 cases in the 14 days preceding it. That makes it the state with the largest percent increase in Covid cases in the past two weeks.
The state's rate of Covid-19 infections per capita in the past two weeks is in the bottom half of the country, but it's the sharp and sudden increase in case counts that sets it apart.
Meade County, home to Sturgis, has counted 330 new cases in the last two weeks, up from the 20 reported in the two weeks before the rally, according to Johns Hopkins University's case count. The 1,550 percent increase comes after the motorcycle rally, which usually draws around half a million people, possibly had its biggest year ever, according to County Sheriff Ron Merwin.

Unvaccinated people, riskier behavior: What is fueling L.A.’s coronavirus surge

This is an article from the LA Times (may be behind a paywall)

" Unvaccinated people riskier behavior is what is fueling LA's coronavirus surge'

I think you can apply this to every state in the country--- this virus is behavior driven,
a premise that has not been driven home enough by the experts. It has never really been explained that way: the experts just say 'wear masks"--- they needed to be clear that the virus is behavior driven.

New Daily Case Record for Florida!

Coronavirus Cases Increase by 26,203

The number of coronavirus cases in Florida rose by 26,203 on Wednesday, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The agency also reported that the state's deaths from COVID-19 increased by nine to 42,731.

Florida’s coronavirus case total now stands at 3,130,144.

There were 17,164 people with the coronavirus being treated in the state's hospitals, an increase of 76 over Tuesday.

Of those in the hospital, 3,682 COVID-19 patients were in intensive care, which was almost 54 percent of the state's staffed ICU beds.

While the cases and deaths were recorded Wednesday, they may have occurred in previous weeks or months. WUSF's statistics are tabulated on a cumulative basis, while the CDC is adjusting its figures so cases and deaths are recorded on the day they occur as opposed to the day they were reported to the agency.

Coronavirus Cases Increase by 26,203, Hospitalizations Grow By 76

Jail inmates with COVID given drug that "can cause serious harm"

A real ivermectin prescription given to a Washington County employee in Arkansas. / Credit: Eva Madison

Eva Madison, a county elected official, raised the issue during a finance and budget committee meeting Tuesday night. Jail officials were presenting their 2022 budget, which included the jail's physician, Dr. Rob Karas, asking for a 10% increase in the medical services contract.

Madison informed committee members and the jail officials that a county employee, who has opted to stay anonymous to the public, told her that he had been sent to the jail's clinic to get tested for COVID-19.

When the person tested negative, they were given a $76 prescription for ivermectin. He was concerned about the prescription and asked his primary care physician about it, and the the physician told him to "throw that in the trash," Madison said.

While this individual "had the good fortune to have a physician that he could go to and ask for a second opinion," Madison said at the meeting, "our inmates do not have that choice."

Karas Health Care, Dr. Karas' practice, has been touting ivermectin for months. On July 16, the practice posted on Facebook, "if anybody you know test positive send them or [sic] way and we'll get them started on doxy, singular, ivermectin, vitamin d, vitamin c and zinc."

The post was flagged by Facebook with the message: "Some unapproved COVID-19 treatments may cause serious harm."

Madison told CBS News on Wednesday that after learning of the prescription, she contacted the county sheriff, Tim Helder.

"The sheriff defended it, said that Karas has been regularly prescribing ivermectin at the jail during the pandemic," Madison said.

CBS News has reached out to the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Karas Health Care for comment.

Madison said that when she spoke to Karas, he confirmed he had been prescribing the medicine to detainees at the jail, and that he and his family members were also taking it.

"It's very disturbing to me that that's the level of care we're providing to folks down at the jail," Madison said at Tuesday's meeting.

The jail representatives at the meeting said that the only oversight of the doctor's practices was the state medical board, which issued his license.

"He's state licensed, board approved," one of the officials said.

If inmates have concerns about their medical care, he said, "certainly they can write a letter or address the state board of health about any concern they have about any physician."

Where do "pastors" study for divinity medical degrees?

This pastor is talking to people who claim that they don't need to be vaccinated because God will protect them. He reminds them of when Satan suggested that Jesus throw himself down from the temple in exchange for all the kingdoms of the world since God said he would not let any harm come to Jesus.

Jesus' response was, "don't put God to the test."

In the link mentioned above, the pastor says that those who reject vaccinations because God will not let any harm come to them, are quoting Satan.

For all the dramatic headlines, Australia is still doing well overall, not due to luck or chance but by many people working together for the greater good.

So far since the pandemic first began, there have been 986 deaths. RIP from me to all those people, I'm so sorry this happened to you :(
And condolences to their families and friends.

Hoping everyone's efforts can see a turnaround in cases on the horizon.
And I wish this for the whole world, not just Australia.

This pandemic is exhausting. I'm spent. Searching for anything Good that can come out of the pandemic and haven't found any yet.

So far we have deaths, illness, divisive nation, mistrust, dangerously high inflation for food, housing, gas, insurance (watch out for sharp increase next year), everything else. And the poor children getting tested, wearing masks, learning the word Quarantine at 5 years old. Breaks my heart.
Anything good?

WSJ News Exclusive | Biden Administration Likely to Approve Covid-19 Boosters at Six Months

Biden Administration Likely to Approve Covid-19 Boosters at Six Months
Pfizer, BioNTech have requested clearance for Covid-19 vaccine boosters that an official said could be administered six months after previous dose

im-391190

A vaccination site in Michigan this week. Federal officials last week recommended that adults who received a two-dose regimen of mRNA vaccines such as Pfizer’s begin receiving booster shots in September.

Federal regulators are likely to approve a Covid-19 booster shot for vaccinated adults starting at least six months after the previous dose rather than the eight-month gap they previously announced, a person familiar with the plans said, as the Biden administration steps up preparations for delivering boosters to the public.

Data from vaccine manufacturers and other countries under review by the Food and Drug Administration is based on boosters being given at six months, the person said.

Yes, there are many awful things, but there are also some good things. People have more time to enjoy the beauty of nature and are spending more time outside. Many people are posting photos of the beautiful things they see, sunrises, birds, flowers, etc

Life feels less frenzied. I have my evenings at home and quite enjoy not having to be out every night. People are less likely to be wasting hours stuck in traffic since so many are working from home.

Shopping locally has been a huge theme which is benefitting local markets, farmers and artisans. Folks are repairing things rather than tossing them in the dump.

Ironically, people might be more healthy, apart from Covid, that is. Our country recorded almost no flu season this year.

Although Zoom feels like a curse, in our house it saves countless hours travelling to council and committee meetings.

Folks around here have rallied to care for the elderly. I got to meet my neighbours who have lived here for 40 years and bring them supplies when it wasn't safe for them to be out.

We've figured out how to host conferences at a fraction of the cost in time and money. We've live-streamed church services which makes it possible for many people to join who previously couldn't come in person.

I hope that we never go back to some of our previous ways.

No Masks, Vax Proof to See Matches at Full-Capacity US Open

Spectators will not be required to wear masks or show proof of their vaccination status to attend matches at the U.S. Open when the tennis tournament returns at full capacity next week, one year after all fans were banned from the event because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The goal is not to prevent all cases of COVID. The goal, really, is to be certain that we don’t have an outbreak of COVID that’s going to be unusual or that we would regret,” Dr. Brian Hainline, a U.S. Tennis Association first vice president and member of its medical advisory group, said on a conference call with reporters on Wednesday. “We’re still relying on the goodwill of people. The unvaccinated — although it’s not going to be enforced — they really should be wearing masks. I expect many vaccinated individuals are going to be wearing masks, as well."
