This is certainly very clear evidence of the benefits of being vaccinated. As we go forward, and more and more people are vaccinated, it shouldn't come as a shock to us that a larger percentage of vaccinated people show up on reports such as this one. Eventually, when 100% of people are vaccinated, then 100% of people in hospital with covid will have had their vaccine.

It's going to require some adjustment to our understanding of what's going on, lest we make the mistake of believing that vaccines aren't working.

There will never be a 100% vaccination rate in the US, imo. Even if it's "mandated" by the Feds. Not even close. My state is only about 50% even now, if you accept the statistics.

eta: I checked, and its only 47.8%

Would it not be documented on their medical record? In Ontario, we have a continuity of care duty to send all medical data, including vaccination information to the patient's doctor. Failing to do so is cause for disciplinary action from the College.

Unlike Canada and Europe the USA does not have a digital system in place to track vaccinations. We just use our vaccine cards for proof. Without cards you can run into problems.

Mine is from the pharmacy so there most likely is a record of me getting the vaccine, like if I lost my card I could talk to the pharmacist about getting proof.

Stop using these N95 masks, FDA says. There are ‘serious concerns’ with their quality

Although the warning was directed to health care professionals who work closely with COVID-19 patients, it doesn’t hurt to check if the box of N95 masks you purchased online or from stores made the cut.

Federal health officials are warning health care professionals about “serious concerns” regarding the quality of certain N95 masks made by Shanghai Dasheng Health Products Manufacturing in China.

All approvals for N95s produced by Shanghai Dasheng have been revoked as of Aug. 13, meaning they are no longer authorized for emergency use and “may no longer be manufactured, assembled, sold or distributed” in the U.S.

Ugh. Those are the masks we have been using. Purchased at Walmart.

And there are plenty of black market cards out there already, imo

Unvaccinated will be providing natural immunity to the herd.

We document all vaccinations that patients receive in their medical record. All vaccines are documented in the state vaccine registry as well.

Even before COVID we received frequent calls from patients asking when their last tetanus shot was, or if their kids were due for childhood vaccinations for school, etc.

Every time we fill out forms for sports physicals, college or trade school physicals, etc. we have to either enter all the vaccinations and dates or attach a printed copy of the state registry record.

Whats the latest there SA? Are the outbreaks under control?

The Vic outbreak is nearing control. They have extended their lockdown, but numbers are staying fairly low. They have a good chance to quell a surge.

The NSW outbreak is nowhere near under control. Modelling has shown that it will continue to grow for the next 6 weeks. The numbers could get pretty high (for us).

The focus is on vaccinations. Trying to get NSW vaccinated. Their hospitals are starting to feel the strain.

They are projecting that NSW will be 70% fully vaccinated by the end of October.

The rest of the country is doing well, trying really hard to not let the virus creep into our states, and busy vaccinating everyone.

Well yes, I realise that. My comment was theoretical.

Real conversations between a Houston doctor and her COVID patients: 'It didn't have to be like this' — Houston Chronicle

“I don’t engage the nonsense or any degree of politicization. That’s like saying diabetes or cancer is political. Clearly it is not, and neither is this. We don’t have time for ridiculous conversations right now. That being said, I have found that the majority, unprompted, tell me they regret not getting the vaccine and ask me when they can get it. These people passed up a safe, non-experimental vaccine that is 95 percent effective in preventing hospitalization and death, and yet now they are eager to get it ASAP. And, not only that, they are also eager to try any and every possible treatment we offer, even the experimental ones. Most patients did 100 percent of what we asked and recommended out of pure desperation. The looks of despair and regret on many of their faces will forever be burned into my brain.”

Oh, Deer: Whitetails In Ohio Have Covid-19

While white-tailed deer have been shown to have Covid-19 antibodies, this is the first time that they have been proven to have the virus itself, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The samples from the deer were gathered between January and March in Ohio.

The deer did not show symptoms of being infected, and the risk of the virus spreading from the deer to humans is low, according to the USDA.

A separate study of deer in Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York found Covid-19 antibodies in one-third of the animals.

But American medical providers also observe and practice a duty of continuity of care. So even if you were vaccinated at a pharmacy, the record of such should have been sent to your doctor. Can you recall if you were asked the name of your doctor?

I was vaccinated at a mega site. No one asked me on either visit who my general practitioner is. And they specifically told me not to lose my card and to keep it with other important papers.

No. Not asked anything except for my pharmacy card and I think maybe the insurance card. Well Thursday I go for the 2nd shot so I'll ask about it but I really do not think any vaccination places send the information to anyone's doctors.

A hospital or specialist or lab would send info to the person's doctor but the Covid vaccine information doesn't get sent anywhere. We just carry our Covid vaccine cards to show we were vaccinated.

Sounds like you have some type of a centralized system that has your health information? I am not familiar with that. We just have our Doctors. Only our personal Doctors have our information.

Did you have to provide your photo ID with name and DOB? The tech or nurse who gave your vaccine would have kept a record of your name, DOB, lot number and expiration date of the vaccine as well as the date and time given. Those records must be retained by the healthcare organization who is providing the vaccinations.

We're in Covid positive double figures now in my NSW, Australia country town. It's up to 16 as of yesterday.

Just waiting for Gladys, our state premier and the 11am briefing, but like South said, the number of positive cases in New South Wales keeps going up.
I did read some expert say it could go up to 6000 cases a day. That's in the whole state. Our little, almost 40,000 population couldn't handle that amount of cases.

Locally some secret place here, in my town has been selected as a place where Covid positive cases will be taken to isolate.
It seems like it must be either somewhere, like the equivalent of council flats, or a motel, that ceased to be a motel, and now rents the rooms out on a permanent lease. Just my guess it could be either of those two places. But the old motel has only a few rooms, so probably not it, hmmm.
It has been said that the residents wherever it is, aren't happy that they'll have to move. I don't suppose I would be either.

6 staff from the local correctional centre have tested positive. I must have missed when they stopped calling it a gaol.

Just checked and it was way back in 1992, but the local paper and news radio still called it a gaol, and I've never heard anyone call it a correctional centre until this last couple of weeks.

Locally they're starting a new thing, for here. You can now get tested at home if you are really unable to get to a testing centre. There is strict criteria, but the article didn't say exactly what the criteria was.

49 states maintain a vaccine registry. Only New Hampshire does not.

I did not have to show any ID. I misplaced my ID which is my drivers license and they didn't care, just wanted my pharmacy card because I am being vaccinated at a pharmacy. I didn't have that with me either but still got the shot.

You can get the shot without ID here in the good old USA in some places.

It would have been sent to your state vaccine registry, unless you live in New Hampshire. Then your doctor or clinical staff would retrieve the information from the state registry.
