I did not have to show any ID. I misplaced my ID which is my drivers license and they didn't care, just wanted my pharmacy card because I am being vaccinated at a pharmacy.
Interesting. Our sites here require a photo ID.

It would have been sent to your state vaccine registry, unless you live in New Hampshire. Then your doctor or clinical staff would retrieve the information from the state registry.

Oh yah, they have to keep track how many people are getting vaccinated in each State! So there is a centralized data base for that.

Half

DPH says half of Georgia's recent COVID-19 outbreaks traced to schools

The state's leading public health official said school-aged children are being infected with COVID-19 at a higher rate since schools resumed in August.

Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey said cases in children 11 to 17 years old have quadrupled over the past few weeks.

Toomey said the rate of hospitalization in school-aged children isn't at the level of older adults. The data is still alarming, she said, because of the rates at which children transmit the delta variant to others at higher risk.

"What's happening is children are getting infected and are transmitting it and it's being transmitted to other family members," Toomey said.

Toomey said the state is seeing the highest number of COVID-19 outbreaks since the pandemic began. More than half of the outbreaks, she said, are connected to K-through-12 schools. The Food and Drug Administration has not approved a vaccine for children younger than 12 years old.

No. Not asked anything except for my pharmacy card and I think maybe the insurance card. Well Thursday I go for the 2nd shot so I'll ask about it but I really do not think any vaccination places send the information to anyone's doctors.

A hospital or specialist or lab would send info to the person's doctor but the Covid vaccine information doesn't get sent anywhere. We just carry our Covid vaccine cards to show we were vaccinated.

Sounds like you have some type of a centralized system that has your health information? I am not familiar with that. We just have our Doctors. Only our personal Doctors have our information.

Yes, please ask. I would be interested to know if your doctor is made aware of your vaccination.

We don't have a centralized system that has our medical information. Rather, any medical provider has a mandatory obligation to inform our personal doctor of any medical treatment so that there is a continuity of care. If I had been vaccinated by a pharmacist, that person would have been obligated to forward the information to my doctor. That way, my doctor has a thorough record of my health care.

Incidentally, the same applies for veterinary care for our pets.

Would you turn away someone without ID? Our clinics ask for a provincial health card, but will give a vaccine with no ID as long as you can provide a name and address, and I suspect that even that isn't absolutely necessary as many homeless cannot provide an address, don't have a health card or ID and even might not be able to give their name.

From the article:

The email said, “We believe this backup is due to a throughput slowdown at local funeral homes which is causing us to hold decedents for a longer period of time.”

There is no indication that the "throughput slowdown" at funeral homes has anything to do with Covid.

Earlier in story (BBM):
ORLANDO, Fla. (WESH) — Central Florida hospitals are dealing with an overflow of COVID-19 deaths.

The Central Florida Disaster Medical Coalition is sending 14 portable morgues to area hospitals to help make room.

[...]

An email obtained by our NBC affiliate, WESH 2 News, Thursday confirmed that the Central Florida Division of AdventHealth has reached the capacity of hospital morgues due to the influx of COVID-19 patients."

veterinary care, cool.

I will post this Thursday about what the pharmacy says as this is the day I can get my second shot. Actually, I'm curious also as to what they will say.

Right. But at the bitter end, as always, imo, they state the real reason. The funeral homes are going slower than usual. Weird how the morgue is overrun, but no mention of a lack of hospital beds for any patients -- much less covid patients. jmo

eta: not to mention that I think the portable morgues will ultimately prove to be unnecessary, as have the various locations opened up to treat "overflow" patients that costs millions of dollars but were never used. I can post the links again, if necessary, but the NY floating hospital and the tent hospital in the pacific NW come to mind easily and the links have been posted MANY times.

Eta a link--$660 million wasted. Disgusting, imo

Downtown LA courthouse will require proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test to enter – Daily News

Now, this is interesting. And it is going to be a complete cluster.

People will show up, with court paperwork, for court dates, and maybe did not receive the "memo" that they need proof of vaccine or a negative test..taken 3 days prior.

Backlog? Let's just screw everything up for six more months.

And this is a federal government building, I am waiting for the official release for all other federal buildings in the United States.

it only applies to "The general public, media representatives and contractors" -- judges, staff, lawyers and parties, including criminals, can still come in -- probably with a mask

Florida Again - feels like ping-pong back and forth

Florida withholds funds from two school districts over mask mandates

The Florida Department of Education said on Monday it has withheld funds from two school districts that made masks mandatory in classrooms this fall.

"Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran announced that the Florida Department of Education has withheld the monthly school board member salaries in Alachua and Broward County, as directed by the State Board of Education," the department said in a statement.

Earlier this month, the Florida Board of Education told the two school districts that some of their state funding would be withheld if they failed to provide parents with a way to opt out of a requirement that children wear masks.

A Florida state judge on Friday ruled that the state had no authority to enforce an order by Governor Ron DeSantis banning public school districts from requiring masks in classrooms, and barring his administration from withholding funds over mask mandates.

School boards in Broward and Alachua counties have mandated masks in schools in defiance of an executive order issued last month by DeSantis that barred local officials from imposing mask mandates.

"Each district has implemented a mandatory face mask policy that violates parental rights by not allowing a parent or legal guardian to opt-out their child," the statement said, adding that the penalties will continue until the school boards comply.

Okay. Great. Then, what the heck is the point of this? Half the people have to provide evidence of a vaccine, or negative test, the other half, doesn't matter?!

What a idiotic rule.

What on earth?? Why? People get irate over the concept of photo ID for voting but hey… let’s make it harder to get a vaccine that might help us get a worldwide pandemic under some sort of control… for what reason? I truly don’t get it. If Joe Blow shows up wanting a vaccine that’s free and available to anyone over 12 years old, why on earth would we care if they have a photo ID or not? Just give them a shot. Done.

This is sad.

Matthew LeHew
@matthewlehew

I start every class with an ultrasound picture of my son due in October, pleading with my students to wear masks as a personal favor to my family. In small, at-capacity classrooms, only 5 of 45 of my students wore a mask. I’ll never be able to look at this job the same way.

I dunno. I’m in a private medical professionals group where I’ve personally seen pleas for available ECMO meds for patients on a daily basis lately. One recent plea was for a mid-40’s ER physician in Florida who needed ECMO. Medical peeps are literally on message chat boards similar to this site begging anyone with any kind of connections to point them towards a hospital that has an open ECMO bed. That’s unreal in the medical world. It just doesn’t happen.

There’s also the story of the mid-40’s man who recently died of pancreatitis while waiting for an ICU bed. Multiple states were contacted with no luck at all. No, he didn’t die of covid. But he surely died because covid is catastrophically devastating our medical system.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed> ... here (Australia) I was admitted to ER last year early in the pandemic (not covid) and I felt almost all of the staff very taking it very seriously, I overheard conversations the nurses were having in the quite times and you could feel the stress they felt back even then.
