From Royal Caribbean:

Until further notice, all ships in the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. fleet will adopt these health screening protocols:
  1. Any guests holding a Chinese, Hong Kong, or Macau passport, regardless of when they were there last, will not be allowed to board our ships.

  2. Any guest or crewmember that has been in contact (which the CDC defines as 6 feet or 2 meters) with someone that has traveled from, to, or through mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau less than 15 days.

Additionally, there will be mandatory specialized health screenings performed on:
a. Guests who are unsure if they have been in contact with individuals who have traveled from, to or through mainland China or Hong Kong in the past 15 days;

b. Guests who report feeling unwell or demonstrate any flu-like symptoms;

c. Any guest presenting with fever or low blood oximetry in the specialized health screening will be denied boarding.

That seems ridiculous.
Yes, if he was in on a conspiracy, he no doubt would have slipped up and hinted in tweets. This is ridiculous.

The conspiracy-minded see conspiracies everywhere.

@JerseyGirl and Gitana and others... hope this helps to prevent incorrect info/misleading info

I contacted the company and this was their quoted response through their Facebook account.(McCabe ambulance, easily identified through FB)

'Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the media doesn't always do us favors .

In an effort to quell some of the misleading social media posting regarding our response to the Anthem of The Seas this morning, we offer the following.

Although video and images captured from the scene displayed personnel moving patients without masks (Personal Protective Equipment), it should be known that in addition to the individuals transported for screening, there were four additional patients removed from the vessel with medical conditions unrelated to Novel coronavirus.

The individuals removed for screening were removed by personnel in full CDC recommended PPE, including masks for the patients, masks for the providers, as well as eye protection and gowns. We worked seamlessly with our counterparts from the CDC, PA NY/NJ, CBP and the DOH to ensure the safety of all providers and patients."

I personally, do not doubt their explanation.

ETA: I received another FB message from them and they are attempting to have the media outlet correct. (Good luck with that harrumph)
Thanks for checking!

Now here’s hoping the patients unrelated to the virus, were truly clear of harboring the virus...

I’m sure they’re fine.

Right?;)

A thought and not a good one, but- remembering back in the day when HIV/ Aids first appeared and was kept (or so it seems, speculation) from public knowledge, and infected blood was still given to unsuspecting patients who required blood transfusions, some of whom also became infected.

Do authorities in China know for sure when the CV virus began to circulate and if it could and/or might have contaminated donated blood?
speculation, imo.

Why the NHS gave thousands HIV-contaminated blood

ETA maybe okay for now?

''No transmissions by blood or other substances of human origin have been documented or alleged for 2019-nCoV. This is true, as well, for the other two coronaviruses that have emerged over the past two decades (SARS, the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus and MERS-CoV, causing Mideast Respiratory Syndrome). •AABB, FDA, and CDC are not recommending any action by blood collection establishments at this time because there are no data or precedent suggesting risk of transfusion transmission •Voluntary implementation of donor deferral for travel to China may address public concerns about the safety of the blood supply''

Dow falls 300 points on coronavirus concerns

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 300 points, or 1%, as concerns over coronavirus outweighed stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs data.

Trump administration commits $100 million to outbreak relief efforts

The Trump administration announced that it would commit up to $100 million in existing funds to help the World Health Organization, China and other infected countries fight the coronavirus outbreak.

WHO has been asking member countries for donations to help with response efforts after tapping $9 million from its contingency fund for emergencies earlier this week.

When asked about contributing additional funds, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar that it was “premature” to discuss that.

“Li, 34, had first sought to warn his college classmates in the medical profession of the disease in late December. Using the popular Chinese social media platform WeChat, Li wrote that he had become aware of several cases similar to severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, another coronavirus that killed nearly 800 people in a 2002-2003 outbreak that Beijing initially tried to cover up...”

You only have to see the reactions here to know this isn’t like Flu.

companies are taking very drastic measures here because it’s we are dealing with the unknown and because it’s China who nobody can trust ( IMO) it makes it even worse as they are obviously harboring the real truth behind this.

Why The World Cares More About The New Coronavirus Than The Flu

For flu one can roughly say that maybe 1 in 1,000 or less of infected people dies," says Christian Althaus, a computational epidemiologist at the University of Bern, Switzerland. "But for this new coronavirus it could well be about 1%."

In other words, a death rate that's about 10 times greater than the flu's.

...The trouble is that the flu is already too widespread. By contrast, this new coronavirus has only just started circulating in humans...”

there are still many unknowns

any CDC leaders comfortable going into Wuhan hospitals without donning hazmat suits considering Dr. Li?

...More tributes to Li Wenliang from Chinese social media: "There are no heroes falling from the sky, only ordinary people who bravely step forward."

A month ago Wechat posts were being uplinked to Twitter, of people dropping dead in the streets, then it became a city of 11 million quarantined, then 50 million.

But it’s over there—————-> half a world away.

You bet, which brings me back to the cruise ships. TB (bacterium, so different) is known to travel via ventilation systems (and why patients are kept in isolation (negative room pressure)

what are the chances the virus can spread via the vents?

I would guess inside rooms would be more of issue but idk

Moo - this isn’t a hospital, it’s an incubator/observation/detention camp

That video is absolutely scary and makes me glad I don’t live in a country like that. On the plus side I admire their work ethic and how they get hospitals built within a few weeks. That’s truly astounding and shows how hard they work and I admire that.
