Cutting your fluids puts you at an increased risk of getting a Urinary Tract Infection with a high temperature and in this situation you may be denied entry to a country. It isn’t a good idea.
I wouldn't have believed that a day or so could cause a UTI until recently, I drink at least 80 oz of water a day and a few weeks ago , I went all day at work without water 8.5 hours and bam the next few days I had a UTI , so yes it can happen.

Barbados:
Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Kenneth George, disclosed that the Ministry of Health and Wellness had received a number of reports, including from the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) of “a significant outbreak” of gastroenteritis on the ship. Dr George said that in keeping with the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and “as a matter of caution” aimed at protecting both the passengers and the people of Barbados, the Ministry of Health and Wellness has decided that the cruise liner will not be allowed to berth at this time.

This actually sounds like the common Norovirus, but I can certainly understand island nations not wanting to take a chance of their communities being infected by any airborne illnesses.

Just last week there was an article about a cruise ship that had isolated suspected cases in one of their ship's restaurants. Do we remember what ship that was?
WHAT!

Now that you mention it, the force of those loud airplane toilets flushing probably would send up a plume of aerosol particles of nasty.

Adding Depends to my travel list next time I am having to fly. :)

See perfect. And if you have a “aersol plume of virus-laden diahhrea” you’ve got extra protection in form of a butt mask. :D

This is so ridiculous

so then those 20/40 people also go on and have contact with 100’s more people. So it’s impossible to track and it will spread and spread if China is anything to go by.

Its terrifying. I fear we are going to see a rise in new cases over the next few days. How many of these ‘super spreaders’ are wandering around.

It was the Royal Caribbean ship out of Bayonne, NJ. All of those passengers were checked and 4 showed possible symptoms. Those 4 were hospitalized on Friday and later confirmed to not be carrying the virus.

The ship is scheduled to depart today to Bermuda.

Thanks Jerseygirl. I was hoping it was that one and not the one in Japan where all the cases seem to be spreading more rapidly.

It will be interesting to follow the NJ ship and see if anything breaks out in Bermuda when they stop there.

Boy, 7, who came into contact with coronavirus Brit rushed to hospital

A seven-year-old boy who came into contact with a British man quarantined in Majorca with coronavirus has been admitted to the same hospital amid fears he could have the killer bug.

The youngster has already tested positive for common B-type flu and he is now undergoing tests for coronavirus too.

I really hope this young man does not have the coronavirus and he recovers ASAP.

No mention of Spain at all that I’ve heard until as of late re: Majorca.

Guys, how do we disinfect our iPads and smart phones when products like alcohol can damage them? I’m sick, as you know, and I’m freaking out about my touch-screens getting germs. This isn’t the first time I’ve failed at finding an answer online for this question. I once read that doctors’ phones are germs as all get out.

Has any port ever denied a ship based on Norovirus?

Yes. If a ship has a significant number of passengers afflicted with the gastrointestinal virus, ports can and have denied docking. If sick passengers disembark, eat in local restaurants, visit local shops, etc., the highly contagious virus infects more people.

“Super spreaders” may prove to be a challenge for health officials trying to stop the spread of the virus, particularly since it is understood that some patients are infecting others before they show symptoms.

Experts previously warned that the mass exodus of residents from Wuhan, the center of the outbreak, has made it “definitely too late” to contain the spread of the virus.

the discussion of drink, pee and wash hands made me remember my work at hospitals, since my training I ALWAYS wash my hand medical style when I have to go into a not so clean bathroom somewhere, Look it up I tried to find something but I probably don´t know the right english words for it.

I take a paper towel, spray it with bleach or use a disinfecting hand wipe while the phone is off, and make sure to dry it down but that is moo and I can’t guarantee that won’t damage your device (I have a screen protector) but you can at least use that on the hard case. My advice isn’t popular this morning though so don’t listen to me haha.

Ps if anyone wants to join my OCD support group, let me know.

I’ve been cleaning mine with antibacterial wipes then drying with tissue afterwards. It doesn’t seem to have done any damage and I’ve been doing this for a couple of years.
