Thanks!

This question has always confused me so my personal mental note was all but Tylenol = Nsaid. Of course, this is not technically correct but prevents me from taking anything but Tylenol if necessary! MOO

Did anyone watch the nightly news with Lester Holt?
He talked about quite a few "breakthrough" virus infection cases that have occurred after people getting the vaccine. In North Carolina (or was it South?)- anyway, over 300 people had what is termed "breakthrough" Covid infection. Some of these cases occurred quite a bit after the vaccine had been given. He mentioned a couple other states where there were over 100 breakthrough Covid infections following the vaccine. I wonder if some of these people, after getting the vaccine, throw caution to the wind and start doing stupid things like going to crowded places and ditching their masks. It does make one wonder though.

Important to note that it takes about two weeks post vaccine to be adequately protected from the virus.

I think this statistic of "breakthrough" infection is appropriate and should be expected if a certain number of newly vaccinated let down their guards too early i.e., attend large gathering (super spreader) or begin to abandon their masks.

One woman said she got Covid 3 months after having the vaccine--- it is hard to know how to evaluate what people say and what they are doing (like letting their guard down)
after getting vaccinated.

I don't watch news, I read it. Did Lester give any statistics as to how many of those people had to be hospitalized, or perhaps re-hospitalized ( if they had COVID pre- vaccines).

Also, so many factors come into play like autoimmune status normally, meds taken to help strengthen immune system and decrease a disease load like the HIV meds do), or the very elderly with extremely weak responses to vaccines in general.

I'll read professional literature but I don't necessarily believe Holt's blanket statement.
Also, why just one or two states? That's NUTS unless there's a distributor for that region which did not keep the vaccine frozen to the extreme temperature needed, or otherwise compromised a large number of doses to the point that they were almost inert.

No details whatsoever, just statistics as I mentioned . He mentioned 3 states with hundreds of breakthrough infections in vaccinated people. I even tried to find more info thru google I could not find more info: Here in Michigan there are reported to be 246 breakthrough infections with 3 deaths. No other details. One of the deaths was an elderly person. I will try and find that article and link it.

246 fully vaccinated Michiganders contracted COVID-19, state says

Here is the link

There isn't a lot of info in the article ---

Actually, Aspirin is closely related to Ibuprofen.
If a person reports an allergy to Motrin, we do not give then Aspirin. If they report an allergy to Aspirin, we do not give them Motrin or another Ibuprofen name.

We educate them about this cross- allergy potential which can kill them.

Sadly, when Motrin was fairly new, I worked with a relatively new nurse who used a doctor's standing orders for fever with a young woman who had a severe allergy to Motrin.
The healthy, sweet, pretty young patient went into full Code Blue after taking 2 Aspirin, and did die despite receiving more than one bolus of Epinephrine and the other drugs and mechanical things used in a resuscitation. I came on duty about 2 hours after she had been removed to the morgue. It took me a LONG time to deal with it, and I did get rid of that nurse shortly thereafter.

I thought the point of the vaccine was that if you get the virus, it won't kill you.

I don't think the vaccine is expected to keep you from getting the virus at all. It is expected to keep you alive and out of the hospital.

Thank you. Had to be a contamination or freezer issue at a level higher than the vaccination clinics.

This is correct. Keep us well enough so we aren't in hospital, on ventilator.

I know that but it just seems like a lot of positive cases after getting the vaccine. I am very happy I am vaccinated and understand that I could still get the virus which is why I live a very cautious life! There were 3 deaths among those Michigan cases.-- No other details.

I will take these odds.

From the article:
“However, news of breakthrough cases should be taken into context, said Dr. Paul Thomas, a family medicine physician in Detroit who started Plum Health, a low-cost medical practice in Corktown.

People should keep in mind that the 246 breakthrough cases occurred among the more than 1.8 million Michiganders who are fully vaccinated, he said.

"That breaks down to 0.0144% of those who have gotten the vaccine have come down with a breakthrough infection," Thomas said. "So that means that the vaccine is 99.99% effective in preventing infection.”

Ya know, I take the flu shot each year, flu makes me deathly ill . One year I got the flu anyway. I was sick, but it was a much shorter, milder case than if I didn’t get the shot. The experts are saying this is what is supposed to happen if we catch covid after being fully vaccinated. I’m not throwing caution to the wind. I’ll still wear my mask and avoid crowds, just like before.

IF they lied to us or made a huge grave error about efficacy, I'll never leave my home again!!! I'll be too scared!!! I'm scared right NOW!!

Question re: vaccination records.

Will the pharmacies...CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, the little local pharmacy on the corner keep vaccine records? If so, for how long and how would an individual obtain the records? What happens if a person misplaced their vaccine card?

I choose to get my vaccination at my doctors office and did ask ...will this be a part of my permanent medical record? The answer was yes. The nurse said 2/3s of the patients did not bring the original card back and they had to reissue the cards.

I know Virginia has a data base by individual name to record vaccine. I haven't found a doctors office, yet that actually inputs information. Per the website a voluntarily sign up by hospitals and physician practice and schools. Also haven't found a way to check if any of my any vaccinations were recorded.

If your insurance is paying for the "free" vaccine, there is probably a billing and a health record. When I signed up for vax next week, the on line form asked if I had a personal dr and if I would allow them to share the vax info with that person (yes/no). I noticed that the instructions about what to do if I had any side effects included "call your dr," so reasonable to share the vax info with the dr.

Kati Kariko Helped Shield the World From the Coronavirus

Meet the woman who helped develop the vaccine!!! She never gave up- it was a long road to success.

This article also dispels the notion that the vaccine for the Coronavirus was developed too quickly or recently: it has been in the works for many years!!!

The only fee allowed is 14.00 for administration of the jab.
Glad to know information can be forwarded to physicians.

I can’t imagine paying an administrative fee when every place I’ve heard of has no charge at all.
