Green Goddess salad dressing. I would not eat salad without it as a kid in the 1970's. This past summer Applebee's had a special Green Goddess/Iceberg Lettuce Salad that was to die for! My friend who grew up in Minnesota remembers it well. My husband from Florida claims he never heard of it.

Mary Jane Halloween candy! Bought 2 bags (large) in 2013. I was wracked with guilt, but sure ate a lot of it anyway. Yummy! I never knew the name of the candy, just that it was for Halloween. And now you tell me that those little yellow candies I've seen around are the same thing!!! MJs can be ordered online.

Bit-o-Honey is still around, or was around a couple of years ago. Possibly better than MJ, even.

The edible I miss the most ... haven't had any since the 50s or 60s ... is Gebhardt's Chili Meat Spread. Gebhardt's brand has basically been chewed up and spat out in the process of being owned by various large companies. Amazing to me that potted meat is still around, that has no distinctive character at all, yet the chili spread is gone.

Two slices of fresh white bread, a layer of the spread on one, topped with as much black pepper as you can stand, slap it together, and gobble it down! With fritos, of course.

To this day, I can close my eyes and taste a sandwich made with the chili spread.
