Taking the safe to the Body Shop was only "stupid" because the surveillance system was not disabled. Without the video, this case would be much more difficult to piece together. That's why I think the video was purposely left enabled. It's the keystone to making the whole plan work.

Here is another example. At the same time Ashley Billings "purchased" a house - Patricia Phillps was the Notary. Now look, I am not trying to bash the phillips. I think what all this shows is once a working, possibly good relationship gone wrong. The judgement is one to prove that. Then what is more sketchy is the Robinson character - check out the document

I just thought of something - none of the people arrested are the guy who was originally questioned with Lpatrick. I wish I had saved that video (or any other - I am a horrible archivist!) The person of interest in the video looked just like another one of LP's associates in crime. I'm wondering if there isn't a syndicate involved in this - with more suspects being watched for future arrests. I remember clearly that Major Rogers said there were investigations going on into "separate" crimes.

PCN stated that the perps THOUGHT the system was disabled, but the person who was supposed to do it, didn't!

I agree, I think it was left enabled on purpose as well. Now that all of these people are turning up I'm really thinking it's much bigger than it looks. To me it looks like Pamela Long was the go between and there were people higher than her that Gonzales Jr might not even know about. Maybe the plan was for him to act like he was the mastermind and not even tell the others about Pamela or anyone else if he even knew about them. Maybe, like some have mentioned only a couple of them knew that they were actually going in to murder them. They could've all been told that they were totally covered and they were going to disable the cameras knowing all along that it was a set up and they had no intention of doing so. They were supposed to take the fall the whole time.

I think they were murdered because there was something in that safe that was a big deal to someone. The Billings knew what was in their safe so if they were left alive they would have a pretty good idea as to who would want access to it.

No, that's a good theory - Of course, the silent partner wasn't the one who was supposed to disable the alarm. There's no evidence at all that would point to the real mastermind. Now who would stand to gain the most?

I agree, I wonder if it was a perfectly plotted murder but the people set out to do the job were set up by the person who was the "mastermind" and it is quite possible none of the actual suspects really know who this person is...Thoughts?>

GREAT work NSC, I know from working on other cases that ANYONE can become a notary (well, almost anyone). It looks like the Billings (God rest their souls) established their own little kingdom and had the associates they needed close at hand. It also looks like there may have been some hard feelings along the way. And like I told my son when he was old enough to. . . Ahem. .. . You might know who you are sleeping with, but do you know who THEY are sleeping with? Three degrees removed and there are alot of Sorrells and Wiggins - even a couple on Blue Markham's FB.

Thats what my post said I feel thats exactly what happened.Without the video it might have been the perfect plan who knows they may never have solved it.With the tape they look like a bunch of idiots that red van was insane to use but if you thought video system was down it would not matter They were all set up .Whoever did the setting up I bet is not contacted to any of the people they have caught.

Yes, she was charged as an accessory after the fact of felony murder.

Heres the thing. Not so sure there is actual "fraud" but maybe trading of favors in a businesslike sense.... Loaning money to buy a house, forgiving a loan...not sure -- but is sure is possible that it could have happend!! I really need to go through them with a tooth and comb, I have to see where the phillps remortgaged after their loan was forginven - all very cloudy to me. Now REALLY taking a few mins away!
