I think it's interesting LE has never said Misty lies, and she has never been charged with lying to police. And none of the extended families are cleared.

Misty says the cops called her a liar, and she walked out of interrogation-

She said they "basically" called her a liar iirc, which may mean they said she's inconsistant. Do you think she told the truth when she said that?

Yes, yes she did. She was right mad about that, too. Then 7 months later, she points out that "all they been doing is focusing on me and they need to stop...." Over time she has not become more credible, apparently.

"What she’s told us is a farce…and the idea that she was doing what she says she was doing and how she was doing it is just not believable…its totally unbelievable in fact, said Major Gary Bowling of the Putnam County Sheriffs Office."

I'm really wondering if they now know Misty didn't have anything to do with it, for we know they wanted to nail, cuff n stuff her all the way up til last month. Now, they have to me, done a pivotal turn around in their behavior and non-statements, especially the accusatory towards Misty and her "LIES". I hope egos don't get in the way of a proper investigation no matter where it takes them. Unfortunately, we have some recent case studies like "Elizabeth Smarts" case where LE ego was more important than the missing child. I admire the Smarts and they should be the poster family for Americas Missing Children and Family representation.

What do you mean, they've done a pivotal turn regarding Misty and her "lies"? Where did they say they believe her now?

Thanks, I had seen that. Guess they're trying to get tough now? Still no calling her a liar or charging her.

"Totally unbelievable" and "farce" is as good as calling her a liar in my book but I guess it's a matter of perspective.

I agree it's a matter of perspective.

I can't believe they really think this girl is some sort of evil criminal master mind. That's absurd imo.

lol....I know who allegedly resides in the home. Do you think that DCF did not question Misty or GGS or anyone that might be in contact with RJ before making such an important determination on where RJ would reside?

I don't want to cast any aspersions at them because they must be buried under a mountain of cases there but I must admit that I am very worried that a young child is left in the care of a person who denies knowing anything about how his sister went missing, yet continues to hold important answers according to the investigators, having provided an inconsistent account of what she did that doesn't jive with the evidence. In other words, she lied in the investigation to Jr's sister's disappearance and I'm supposed to think it's okay for her to take care of other children?

I agree that they probably don't think she's a master mind.

Yet almost 8 months later all they can say is she holds the key. The finest minds apparently have tried to crack the case and this young girl holds a key and nobody can use any evidence or get any "key" out of her. That makes no sense imo

I would love to know what other directions they have investigated, out of state etc. I worry they may have blindly focussed on her rather than find HaLeigh.

It is not against the law to lie to police. People keep saying she should be arrested for lying....LE can't do that.

It's hard not to focus on the last person to see her if she's not being truthful.

They did say they've checked more than 4000 leads. Some of them must be about people other than Misty.

I'm not convinced, JMO.

Actually, I feel very confident that they conducted a proper investigation into the matter and neither you nor I need to feel okay with anything. We are not members of The Department of Children and Family Services. Well I guess you could be, but I'm not.

Since we are in Crystal's thread I have to say that I am of the opinion that Crystal must have felt DCF conducted a proper investigation as well, she dropped the issues did she not?

I think Crystal is an extremely sweet person.

I've seen sweetness come out of Crystal too. Also a soft side. Believing before Haleigh went missing, the families were getting along fairly well as can be expected under the circumstances since the family was now separated and not together. Seems everyone was moving on to more positive lives, doing better financially, maturing up, and apparently the children were doing good.

Learning what I have, Crystal appears to me to be fairly easily influenced by others, especially those in authority like her Mama Marie and attorney Kim, etc.... but not saying this in a negative for her. Though I have seen her appear to be stronger as the days drag on and on for them.

I guess I wasn't clear in my post. Top 2 reasons that come to mind:

I believe Crystal still has very strong feelings for Ron and I think she is jealous that Misty is with Ron.

I think she is also jealous that Ron was with her for several years and had 2 children and didn't marry her, but married Misty. JMO

Maybe it was Crystal who didn't marry Ron????

It definitely was Crystal who packed up herself and her children and left Ronald. She might have gone back a few times, but she figured out he doesn't change. Good girl.
