well, if we are holding all lawyers in the same regard, lawyers speak only for their own benefit, or something like that. I'll have to look over on the other thread to see exactly what Whisperer said, but I think the point was lawyers misinterpret the facts. Which would make a whole lot of sense in this case because if RC's lawyer didn't say Ronald was on any list what would he need a lawyer for?:waitasec:

There is an option to "REPORT ABUSE" on the bottom of every myspace page. It gives you a form to fill out. One of the abuse options is/was "imposter".

If someone is making an imposter page and using YOUR photos, Myspace has a way to PROVE who YOU are, they take the necessary steps to prove who really owns the photos/page - no point going through the steps here, but there is a process, and if the page is shown to be an imposter, it is taken down. It is not a long process and can be done within a day or two.

CRYSTAL would need to be the one to report this page as a fraud, because SHE would need to prove it is HER in the photo(s) on the page.

It's quite easy to have a page removed on myspace if the page is abusing the system.

ITA. I post on a different board (not crime/missing related), it's a public board and there was this crazy stalker chick on there and she created horrible MS pages about 2 of people on the board. They alerted MS and the pages were gone w/i 48 hrs of the alerts. This was about 3 yrs. ago.

I understand you believe this is a real page. I believe it is real, also. What I don't think is that it is a real page created by Crystal. What I also don't think is that you can prove with certainty that Crystal did create it, and while it's fun to gossip, it cannot be proved.

It appears more like someone has taken glee in creating a webpage guaranteed to cast Crystal in a bad light, forcing her to once again act to protect herself, and will never quite get the stain off her no matter what she does. But by all means, continue to gossip about it. Tie it into Haleigh's disappearance for me, though, so at least it's an interesting read. So far, it's just unfounded accusations.

Myspace will tell her EXACTLY what needs to be done to have it removed. I've had to do this before.. it is simple. Myspace sends you an email with instructions on proving YOUR identity (very simple), she emails back and she is done. The page comes down. The entire process usually takes 2-3 days. The delay is on myspace's end. Probably due to the volume of complaints they get on a daily basis.


The people that Crystal brings into her life MAY or MAY NOT be relevant to HaLeigh (and are DEFINITELY relevant to JUNIOR). We do not know. How Crystal chooses to live her life is just as relevant as how RON chooses to live HIS life. They are BOTH HaLeigh's parents.

You can't, Kelly. Thing of it is, because there is no action taken against a fake myspace page, it implies something to some. Nevermind the emotional and mental hurdles one has to overcome because some vindictive a$$ decided to make a fake page and people discuss it as though it were a fact.

Yes, the steps are easy, but MS doesn't always jump right to it and have it removed. It took them around 2 wks to finally remove the one set up on my son (by a jealous competitor for a girl's affections), and even then it was after we requested several times to have it removed. We had no control over when they actually would remove it.

It's been up 2 weeks, does anyone even know whether Crystal and family know about it? and even if they do, maybe it's just not priority # 1 for them? I mean with HaLeigh 'missing' and all :doh: and IF Crystal's problems are serious, it's prolly not too high on their list of things to worry about, ya know? I did see that 'this' MS person has Marie as #1 'friend' and CS too maybe, I can't remember now) but common sense would tell us that both probably have 'lots of friends' w/HaLeigh's name in the nic. Not to mention that nothing stops anyone from having one name/nic (whatever is called there :crazy when they 'befriend' someone and changing it immediatly. I sure hate to think that whoever created that page could even be reading here getting their kicks about how quickly some bought what they were selling.....

As far as reporting abuse on MS and having them take action, I assume that they do in a timely manner, but Cindy Anthony sure has battled with them IIRC and they sure weren't quick enough for her and OMG, I would have hated to be the person that had to deal with that! I prolly woulda moved Heaven and Earth just to shut her up ....nah, that would have given her way too much satisfaction...........

I just find it hard to believe at this point that any of the players would put up a public page for the media and bloggers to rip apart. Just my opinion.

Seriously Cicada, that's so true! If KP is to be believed and Crystal couldn't be bothered to get something so important after repeated requests, do we really think she will put any effort towards getting rid of this? She knows people are talking anyway after those bar docs and with the stress of still not knowing what happened to HaLeigh, I would imagine that's it's highly unlikely that this would even be a blip on her radar even if she does know about it. jmho as usual..

I had to have a "fake" MS page of me removed a little while back. What they had me do(keep in mind- if MS policies haven't changed since then)was send them a picture of myself holding up a sign; I can't remember exactly what I had to write on the sign...something like my name & that days date, or "please remove"..my mind is fuzzy on that part now but I do know I had to send in a picture of myself holding a sign. Is this what you remember of the removal process, atherella? Now, it was kind of hard for me to do this because I'm not very computer savvy at all, and it seems like I didn't have the right equipment to do what they wanted at the time; so, yes it was a tad complicated for me, but I know a lot of others could breeze right through it. Also, I had to e-mail MS, like a dozen times, to even get the instructions; they made me so mad!:banghead: lol. Then they didn't remove the "fake" MS page of me right away, it took them some time. In the end it didn't matter anyway because whoever had put it up the first time, put another one up, again.....and again..and again . I'm sure though that some removal requests get handled faster than others; like you said, depending on the amount of them they receive on a daily basis probably.

Okay, out of curiousity, I went to MS to see what the policy is now concerning a "fake", or "imposter" MS profile. I didn't post it all b/c I don't know if we are allowed, but I did attach the link you can go to if you'd like:

JMO two very different things. I think getting a doctors note was probably not possible, so she avoided it. Her reputation and people talking about her is a different matter, and one she stated in the past was a concern of hers.

I'm not as up on this situation as I should be, but I'm going to guess that CS didn't have an attorney representing her at the divorce. Did RC?
CS was asked to provide a doctor's note, which she did, but the Judge couldn't read it so he/she asked CS to get another one.

I don't know what everyone's experiences are with Doctors, but it is like pulling teeth to get something in writing from one of them unless you are able to speak directly with them at a doctor's appointment. Getting a note REWRITTEN would be almost impossible. You could call the nurse and get another copy of the note, but not a brand new rewritten one.
I think this particular incident has more to do with CS not having representation than her being lazy.
