CT - 32-year-old man held captive by stepmother Kimberly Sullivan since age 11, weighs 68 lbs, sets fire to home to escape, 17 Feb 2025

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed> ...He was locked in a small second story room, had been for 20 years. Provided minimal food and water. Given his physical description upon discovery I doubt very much he was physically capable of doing anything to attempt to rescue himself. He didn't have the required BMI or muscle mass to do so after two decades of malnourishment. Setting the fire was his last ditch bid to get help. MOO

This young man was 11 when his captivity began. 11. He likely didn't have the courage to try to run on those rare occasions he was let out of that room.

Friend of KS for 21 years - didn't even know that KS HAD a stepson. Let alone that he resided in KS' home.

"His first question...why is she out walking around when I was locked in that room for 20 years."

Click through the slideshow below to see the photos from inside the house. It is unclear which room the victim was kept in, but some doors have locks.

Something has to be really wrong for anyone to live in those conditions. It looks like a dungeon.

Who is this guy in the mirror?

Police taking photos?
Maybe but does it look like he is wearing a baseball cap to you?

His face is dark but his ear looks giant. I’m just being a late night detective 😂

I have wonderful distance vision since my recent cataract surgery, but I don’t have my reading glasses yet, so your guess is as good as mine. 😂

The police body cam footage was also released and is found online and it's quite long.
If I come across an approved source I'll post it.
Unbelievable.

imo

There is new footage here of KS denying he was locked up. Also has a transcript.

Pesce: “Was the door locked on his room, or no?”
Sullivan: “No.”
Pesce: “OK. Is it normally locked?
Sullivan: “No.”
Pesce: “No. It’s normally open?”
Sullivan: “Yeah.”
Pesce: “And he has free rein to go out of there whenever he wants?”
Sullivan: “Yeah.”
Pesce: “OK.”

IMO:

A few snips from LE body cam.

KS left the fire scene and it took LE one hour to track her to a parking lot.
She's sitting in the back seat of daughter's car.

I have no doubt that her lawyer is already thinking up a strategy to get the body-cam footage evidence inadmissible.

Listen to KS's voice reaction during questioning by LE when asked "does the victim have free-range of the house?"

Can imagine what she was doing in the downstairs and not coming out, knowing upstairs on fire. Looking for that screwdriver I'm sure, that she told her daughter to get and go get the locks off. Mind you, place on fire. DERANGED, and the cops knew it right off, thank God they immediately believed him, his appearance etc on top of what he said.

@ 6:25 LE asks KS if the victim has any mental challenges.
In the full video her answers are muted out (rightfully so) and then the video picks up.

I think KS thinks that claiming that the victim has mental issues/ challenges lets her off the hook for his physical and mental state when rescued.

IMO
