Police Launch Search for Missing UNH Student

Police are searching for a missing University of New Haven student.

Allie McGrory, 18, was last seen on Tuesday at her dorm, according to school officials.

School officials said they are aware of some text messages McGrory sent to friends that caused them to believe she is distraught.

She was last seen in her dorm room on Tuesday, before she was reported missing Wednesday night by an RA who became concerned that she hadn’t returned. School officials say there were also text messages from McGrory to a friend on Wednesday.

Concerning that her texts made her friends worry...hopefully she just needed time to get her head cleared. Being a student athlete can be tough, and with the spring season starting up I imagine the stress could be felt pretty heavily.

Police Launch Search for Missing UNH Student

A University of New Haven freshman and softball player has been missing for two days, and campus and West Haven police are searching for her.*

Allie McGrory, 18, of Medford, New Jersey, was last seen on Tuesday at her dorm, school officials said.*

The last possible sighting of her may have been in the New Haven area, officials said. A resident assistant contacted school authorities Wednesday with concerns that McGrory had been missing for nearly 24 hours and had not gone to classes or softball practice, according to school officials and West Haven police.
