Yeah- people try it. I always undo it when I find it. That's the trouble- you can set the best possible security procedures in place and there will always be someone who thinks it does not apply to them.

Police have identified a suspect in the killing of a person whose body was found stuffed behind a wall in a high-security laboratory building at Yale University, law enforcement sources told NBC News on Monday.

The suspect, a student, has defensive wounds, and failed a polygraph test, the sources said.

The pattern of crime seems to be petty theft and weekend (alcohol-related?) fracases.

Change of subject, All these folks have a lot of education behind them and most probably have a bright future. Thus I profile them as not exactly the killer type. One caveat - the wedding timing is troubling.

I'm going with a maintenance worker. IMO I could be very wrong.

My career in EMS started on a large and highly regarded state university campus. (best student job in the world btw). 20,000+ population. By far the craziest calls and most insane incidents of violence did not occur in the places where most would think. It happened in the designated "quiet" dorms. Or amongst the population of brilliant, highly driven and unbelievably stressed students and post grad types. Those who by definition have the brightest futures. It has been my experience that this best and brightest group is often masking alot of untreated stress, obsessive behavior and frequently some deep seated psychological abnormalities.

It is actually a problem that has been cropping up in medical schools for about 20 years now. Since the 1980's med schools have been relying so much on grades and entrance exams, and so little on other things that make a more "well rounded" applicant, that those who have risen to the top in this high stress environment are more and more lacking in the basic social skills or psychological norms that are actually required to be a succesful and compassionate doctor. These days I do IT work for several Physcicians groups. You can pretty much tell what decade a given doctor in the practices graduated med school, simply by noting how deeply ingrained their personal pyschisis and lack of social skills is. The older doctors are well rounded individuals. The newer almost appear to suffer from Aspergers Syndrome.

I worked very closely with professors and the revolving department chairs, and far from being a teacher's pet, I had the distinct impression they found me annoying. Can you imagine???

I'm really seeing the perp as someone who either had an obssession with her as a "love" interest or had a compulsion to murder and/or rape any vulnerable woman.

I know grad students are murdered by other grad students sometimes, but seems like it usually happens as some sort of shooting rampage. Doesn't it? I could be wrong.

If you'll go back to the beginning of this thread, you'll see that the information in that article has since been denied by LE. You'll also see lots of articles with completely contradictory information (that is, contradicting other articles.) It's been quite a ride today.
