WE HAVE A SUSPECT and WE HAVE NOBODY IN CUSTODY are not mutually exclusive. T

No, but IT'S NOT A STUDENT and WE HAVE NO SUSPECT are.

Also the picture of the male ID'd being taken away for questioning would be helpful, I missed that one!! Thanks in advance!

If you'll go back to the beginning of this thread, you'll see that the information in that article has since been denied by LE. You'll also see lots of articles with completely contradictory information (that is, contradicting other articles.) It's been quite a ride today.

Geez...you are so right.
With the constant contradicttions, and the fact that sometimes these threads are like the game "telephone"....
I am not only confused...
I think I have added to the confusion!

Sorry......

But if LE, while confusing us, catches the killer...that is fine with me.

I'm clicking from all news sites and just the same news, nothing new.
which news will give us the news first and true not false leads???

Hi, Steadfast, well put. I think that LE uses "suspect" much more guardedly than the rest of us. They like to keep their options and their suspects-to-be in the dark.

I think the best source is a quotation by LE from a press conference which you are personally watching. But, as we've seen, even that's not always credible information.

It's been a sad, weird day,but I'd just like to say I've enjoyed the company here today. I'm also glad I got to "meet" Annie. She sounds like she was an amazing person and friend.

9/13 is yesterday... the day that her body was found and the homicide case opened... (correct me if that is wrong as my head is still spinning from all the media misreporting LOL)

You're right! She was found yesterday 9/13 and it was declared a homicide. The date of 9/8 at 2240 Hours is referenced b/c that's when she was reported missing and the case began. That's how I'm reading it anyways, lol!

9/13/2009 Homicide 9/8/2009 2240 Hours 10 Amistad St Open 0109055219

Thank you for saying this......these students do NOT need this thread popping up when future employers or other universities that they apply to Google their names! Please remove the posts containing student names if that is possible! And thanks again for noting this!

I believe that is the reason the website was pulled yesterday for B.. to protect the students. ITA with you.

She was not found in the Bennett Lab which is in Sterling. (I've posted links to the address of the Bennett lab about five times now.) She was at Amistad, so there were many, many people there outside of her small team.
I agree she could have let someone in, OR maybe she went to ask someone a question or say hi. We don't know for sure that the wall where the body was found in the basement was in the same basement lab where she was working, do we?

these are the exact questions that prompted me to post my time-line...so much confusion over labs vs office, addresses, and students vs professors. Media reporting is terrible, yet I'm sure they aren't familiar with Yale any more than most.

At this point, I place some credence in the ABC report from sources (plural) that the police have a suspect (our sense, not LE's) who has defensive wounds and failed a lie detector test. I also thought this bold-faced sentence might have importance:

Police have said nothing publicly about a suspect, but ABC News has learned that there is one a man who failed a lie detector test and who shows signs of defensive wounds. The relationship between the suspect and Annie Le is not immediately clear but police said that her apparent killing was not random. Detectives also said, nobody else on the Yale campus is in danger.
http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/story?section=news/national_world&id=7013824

That might indicate that person in question might not be a known associate of Annie Le's. It reminds me of the puzzling, unanswered question to LE about a Yale law student at a press briefing yesterday.

I know that no one meant to do anything wrong, but we need to realize that many of these students will apply to medical schools, and to government jobs that require security clearances, and to other research jobs that need to do thorough checks on their employees. Not every person assigned to do those checks will bother to read through to determine exactly why their names showed up on a crime forum. Not to mention having speculation about them being involved for no other reason than that they are a student there.

As soon as they said it "was not random" , I knew they had a suspect. Once they confirm the identity we will get the news that we are waiting for. I think the ABC report is probably correct.
