When I first saw the headline, I was hoping it was the "secret boyfriend" but it's not. It seems he was a sex offender, who lived in the area, and was questioned. I can't find anything else that links Luis Rivera to Lebron.

<<Bianca Lebron was last seen at approximately 8:30 a.m. on November 7, 2001 in front of her school, Elias Howe School, on Clinton Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was standing outside with some friends when a two-tone brown and tan van approached the group of children. Bianca allegedly told two of her friends and her teacher that she was going to the shopping mall with her "uncle" before getting into the van. Bianca does not have an uncle and none of her relatives owned a vehicle similar to the van involved in her abduction. Bianca's teacher and classmates provided police with a description of the van and the driver. He is described as an Hispanic male, approximately 20-30 years old, 5'8"-5'11" with an average build, black hair styled in an afro with long sideburns, brown eyes, a prominent nose and scratches on both of his cheeks. He was wearing a long-sleeved blue pullover shirt with Gap imprinted on the front and along the right sleeve, Fubu jeans with an image of the cartoon character Fat Albert on the right rear pocket and scruffed brown Timberland boots. The van was an older model vehicle with several sanded areas, tinted windows and chrome trim on its sides. Bianca was declared legally dead by her family for the purposes of the lawsuit they filed against the city and school district. It alleges the carelessness of the school's employees led to Bianca's death. The city settled agreeing to pay $750,000 in 2008.>>

I remember this case well. I lived there at the time. I hope they are getting closer. She has never been found, and believe she is still alive.

"At various points during the investigation, police said they evacuated Seaside Park and more recently, a home too. They also said they have a strong lead on who was driving the van Lebron was seen with that morning.

On Wednesday, a detective said they have a “pretty strong lead into the persons of interest.”

“This family needs closure, hopefully we’ll have some positive closure,” Porter said. “We’re committed to resolving this case and we’re going to continue as long as it takes.”

Why would they evacuate a park & home? I could understand if they raided a house or had a search warrant, but why evacuate?

Did her family know about the alleged “boyfriend” she told her friends she had?

I find it interesting her Charley Project page does not mention him at all.

Bumping for Bianca Lebron missing 19 years today. Jason Lara, who a 2003 news article said went by Gonzalez also, apparently never charged. Prayers for her loved ones that answers are forthcoming. Wish she'd be discovered alive and well.

On paper, it sounds as if the case against Jason Lara is pretty strong. His only alibi came from his girlfriend, but I've lost count of cases where it turned out the girlfriend alibied a guilty partner.
