On June 8th Hamden Police responded a Broadway address on the report of a missing person.

Denise Trofa, the sister of Donna Tucker, advised officers that she has not heard from her sister since June 7th.

Hamden Police conducted a search of Tucker’s residence in an attempt to locate her. Officers located her personal belongings. A preliminary search was conducted in a nearby wooded area. The search for Tucker is continuing this morning.

Donna Tucker is described as a white female, 60 years of age, 5’4”, 110lbs., hazel-colored eyes and “reddish/brown hair.”

Police Search for Missing Woman in Hamden

Police then conducted a search of Tucker's house, trying to find her, but all they found were her belongings, according to police.

Officers also searched for her in a nearby wooded area.

Son facing murder charge in connection with missing Hamden woman

The son of a woman reported missing has been charged with her murder, police said late Saturday.

Donna Tucker’s 34-year-old son, Kyle Tucker, of the same address, was arrested Saturday and charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence.

He was held in lieu of a $5 million bail at the Hamden Police Department, Wydra said.

Police are expected to hold a press conference on Sunday at noon at the police department to provide an update on the investigation.

Through investigation, police said they believe they have found the remains of Ms. Tucker in the yard of her 128 Broadway Street home in Hamden.

Hamden Chief of Police Thomas Wydra said they are awaiting positive identification but said there was more than enough evidence to charge Tucker.

Kyle Tucker‘s court date is tomorrow. He confessed to murdering his mother. COD (as per his confession): Blunt force trauma to the head. No weapon recovered.

Questioned about a neighbor reporting a bonfire the other day, PD wants to be careful answering it because it‘s an ongoing investigation. PD confirmed they recovered her remains in the yard.

Kyle Tucker has no arrest history. He previously displayed mental illness that was reported to PD but none of that caused them to believe that he would do harm to his own mother. Over the years there have been large bonfires in the backyard to the degree that the fire department had to respond to extinguish

Police did not indicate a possible motive. Wydra said Kyle Tucker has a mental illness.

Kyle Tucker has brothers who live out of state. He also had a brother who died, said Wydra.

In April, a Superior Court judge ordered Kyle Tucker to pay an overdue credit card bill of just more than $10,400.

Police records released Monday during the Meriden Superior Court arraignment of 34-year-old Kyle Tucker said Tucker told police he bashed his mother’s head with a baseball bat and then burned her body in a fire pit for eight hours.

Court records said he described scrubbing the kitchen clean with chemicals and repainting a wall after he couldn’t wash off his mother’s blood. In a concession, Tucker said, “God got into my body,” before he struck his mother.

In the meantime, police also spoke to Kyle's brother Morgan in Texas, who reported seeing bizarre tweets from his brother's account.

In one, Kyle had written: "i don't mind admitting it, Donna's favorite son was Ryan & her second favorite Mason. Ryan's an awesome dude & Mason's a big time kid, so at least they're worthy competitors for our moma's love."

The suspect also ordered an urn meant for ashes off his mother’s Amazon account, but later canceled the order.

The case has been transferred to New Haven Court and Kyle Tucker is due in court next on June 19.

A judge on Monday ordered 34-year-old Kyle Tucker to a mental health facility for a 60-day program aimed at restoring him to competency after a psychiatrist testified that Tucker has "a psychiatric illness that has resulted in delusional beliefs."

The judge has ruled that Tucker is not mentally competent to stand trial.
