The man police have been investigating in the disappearance of his then-12-year-old daughter was sentenced to six years in prison on gun charges stemming from the fallout of a police interview in February.

Mark Vincent, 65, was sentenced last week to six years in prison suspended after three years served after pleading guilty to charges of criminal possession of a firearm. He also faces a fine of $5,000.

On Feb. 10, Paul Vincent contacted Wallingford police to report that his father had fled Vermont and had taken Paul Vincent's Ruger LCP .380 handgun. Paul Vincent told police that his father believed police would soon be making an arrest in his daughter's disappearance and had been giving away his possessions, and that he was headed to the home of the pastor of Milford Christian Church at 989 New Haven Ave.

On Feb. 16 police located Mark Vincent in the church's parking lot. In his possession were the gun and 100 rounds of ammunition, as well as rubber gloves, according to the warrant.

Can a parent really do that? murder a son or daughter? I really find it hard to believe in whose mind something so cruel could be conceived... what a sicker guy in the head at least he died but could never be tried... I hope he is in hell..
Doreen rest in peace

The father being investigated is not dead though as stated in above comment. Sounds like he was up to no good when he was found in CT with illegal gun and ammo. Maybe he felt the walls.closing in. Hopefully there will be justice

I followed this case on Faded Out Podcast. It really bothered me, to the point where I stopped following true crime stories for a while. I just now did a search to see if there were any updates.
RIP Doreen.

I think about this case and Doreen often. Still think they should have been able to remove the concrete that MV was pouring at Whirlwind Hill Road when Doreen first went missing.JMO

Mark Vincent clearly did something to his daughter and I hope the cops find evidence to lock him up forever soon.

I think maybe Doreen threatened to tell people about the fact that Mark was molesting her, he got angry and beat her, shoving her into the window and breaking it. He ended up killing her and then went out in the middle of the night to bury her in Huntington State Park. He put the ladder up by her bedroom window because he was planning to repair it before Doreen’s mom and aunts arrived. His wife Sharon helped cover for him because he told her it was an accident and she believed him.

I have been investigating Doreen's case for almost seven years and the police and DA have made it clear they will not be pursuing an arrest warrant or conviction at this time despite the mountains of evidence. My podcast, WALK SOFTLY CHILDREN (previously called "Sticky Beak") is a deep dive investigation into Doreen's life and disappearance, as well as the police investigation into her case. I have just obtained a ton of new records and audio from the police under the Freedom of information Act and am releasing new episodes as we speak - Season 4! I hope everyone will listen. I am here to answer any questions people may have, and thank you for your interest in Doreen's case.

Here is the podcast link. There is also a FB group I encourage everyone to join. Walk Softly Children

I really don't believe why the police and DA won't do anything in Doreen's case. It is so sad. Thank you @Sticky Beak for keeping Doreen's case alive. I have listened to all of your episodes. Doreen would be the same age as me if she was still alive. I think that's why I took such interest in her case.
