I don't know if any one has been trying to follow this case in the media since the identification, but I have. As far as I'm aware, there's been no news since September 2010 as to the status of the case. In September, it was reported that Elizabeth Heath had died of homicide due to blunt force trauma to the head. Since then, I've seen no mention of the case in the media.

'Disturbed' Vietnam veteran arrested for murder of his wife
28 years ago and two years after her bones were found
(Daily Mail)
A 68-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of his wife 28-years-ago.

Bridgewater, Connecticut resident John Heath is charged with killing his wife, Elizabeth, over a quarter of a century ago in the Newton home they both shared.

Chillingly, before she died, Elizabeth is reported to have said to her sister-in-law Debbie Lewis, 'If anything happens to me, you know that John did it'.

Appearing in court wearing breathing tubes, the retired painting contractor and Vietnam veteran pleaded not guilty in Connecticut state Superior Court on Tuesday to the 1984 murder.

From 2013:

http://www.newtownbee.com/news/0001/11/30/john-heath-sentenced-50-years-wife-s-1984-murder/183045

A Danbury Superior Court judge last week sentenced John Heath, 70, of Bridgewater to serve a 50-year prison sentence for murdering his wife, Elizabeth, 32, in April 1984, at their Poverty Hollow Road home in Newtown...

A 12-member jury of eight men and four woman convicted Mr Heath on October 16, following a three-week trial at which the prosecution presented more than 30 witnesses...

Meghan Heath Hawes, who was the sole defense witness at the murder trial, morally supports her father, Mr O’Reilly said. Ms. Hawes was 4 years old when the murder occurred. Raquel Figueroa Heath, who had served as Meghan’s babysitter, and then married John Heath after Elizabeth Heath had “disappeared,” spoke on behalf of her husband in court.
