Read the entire March 18 search warrant below:

ugh, nude from waist down, knees splayed out exposing her genitalia, and appearance of possible activity (won't describe more specifically than that folks can read it in your link) beneath her shirt bra pulled down exposing her chest :(

Read the entire March 18 search warrant below:

Ugh 😔

I’m struggling to ask this but I don’t know this area - For her to be left in this position and stay in it (not legs collapse) would this have occurred after death?

Why hasn’t the mother been arrested? Clearly she lied to police.

The 17 year old - who is that in relation?

This article says there was 3rd DNA found. Yes I guess it could have been carried over. Not sure I feel that will be the case in this horrific situation though

not necessarily. Don't spiral. DNA matching is not an exact science. at least as I understand it. Similar to testing for DNA parentage, nothing will ever reveal a 100% match because in order to do so the tester would need to be able to run it against literally every human on earth. This is why paternity tests are never 100%. The closest they can say with certainty is 99.9%

some interesting technical reading on DNA evaluation as relates to crime Overview - The Evaluation of Forensic DNA Evidence - NCBI Bookshelf
Paternal DNA matches are literally "only" 99.9% accurate because the child also has maternal DNA so there is an exponential breakdown of the sameness in the DNA profiles, which makes it pretty amazing that OSRAM can track familial DNA through the whole population well enough to direct conventional law enforcement to a likely suspect.

Actual DNA, properly tested is far more accurate than that. Depending on the precision of the match, anywhere from one in ten billion (more than the world's population) up to one in 380 trillion. Legal defense attorneys like to use figures like "DNA testing is only 99% accurate" or even less, as low as 90% but these figures come from success of DNA evidence in making convictions.

Why, we ask, is DNA evidence *scientifically* so unerring but in practice, fallable? For one thing, because of human error. When DNA evidence was first being used in court, it was typically only processed by one lab. Now in cases of major crime they almost always use redundancy rather than having to re-extract and re-test after a verdict gets overturned because a particular lab turns out to have been less than perfectly credible.

But furthermore, DNA evidence is far from proof of guilt. Circumstances *always* need to be taken into consideration. In cases like this one where people literally live together they will definitely have trace amounts of one another's DNA on them at nearly any given time. The specific information about *what kind* of DNA, *where* it was found and even in what quantities matter in cases like this one - although in a majority of cases guilty parties just admit their crime when confronted with evidence.

Online activity under investigation

According to the warrants, Eve’s mother, Melanie Federline, advised that Eve played the online game Roblox and chatted with people on the internet using the Discord application.

Melanie stated that in the past she has seen sexual conversations between her daughter and individuals online. Melanie was unsure if Eve met anyone during this incident.

The warrant emphasized that Roblox and Discord are commonly used by child predators to communicate with underage children.

Police obtained search warrants on March 20, 2026 for a black Samsung cell phone belonging to Eve’s 17-year-old brother and a black Amazon tablet with a purple case.

Authorities will examine call logs, text messages, contacts lists, emails, installed apps, instant messages, locations, user accounts, passwords, web history, web searches, video and audio files, and images.

The warrants cited probable cause for the crimes of murder, sexual assault in the first degree, and risk of injury.

Police are awaiting the results of toxicology testing and results of a sexual assault kit.

Enfield police have seized a cell phone and a tablet from the home where a 12-year-old girl was found dead last month. Her stepfather is facing sexual assault charges related to the case.
FOX61 obtained two search warrants stating that investigators seized a cell phone belonging to a 17-year-old boy, who also lives in the home, and an Amazon tablet. The tablet was found in 12-year-old Eve Rogers' room, as well as a laptop that investigators said had a YouTube page on it. The laptop was not seized from the home.
Rogers' mother told investigators that she had seen sexual conversations between Rogers and individuals online in the past but was unaware whether she had snuck out of the house. The mother indicated to investigators that Rogers used the Roblox and Discord apps online. Roblox is a video game, and Discord is an online chatting app. Investigators said that child predators commonly use both programs to talk to underage children.

anybody else concerned about the mother's credibility regarding alleged previous sexual convos via roblox and discord? Seems rather convenient that suddenly we are looking at the possibility of strangers luring and grooming from outside the home in light of a DNA match from within. MOO

Absolutely - wouldn't you block Roblox and Discord after discovering that? Limit internet access, monitor online activity?

Especially a neurodivergent child who may have many challenges making them more vulnerable than the average 12 year old.

Melanie told investigators she was unsure if Eve met anyone during this incident, though investigators do suggest in the warrant that Eve snuck out of the house. When asked, Melanie said she was unaware.

The search warrants, served just last week, allow police to take and analyze a black Samsung cell phone belonging to Eve’s 17-year-old brother and a black Amazon tablet with a purple case. The warrants note Eve’s brother was the last to see her alive, though he has not been named a suspect at this time.

Authorities will examine call logs, text messages, contacts lists, emails, installed apps, instant messages, locations, user accounts, passwords, web history, web searches, video and audio files, and images.

She was still just a baby. I’m upset someone, mom, didn’t take her activities more seriously.
