Naugatuck Police Department

Missing Persons
September 5, 2018
NPD CN# 18-23673

On 9/5/18 The Naugatuck PD received a report from the Naugatuck school system that they could not locate students previously enrolled in the Naugatuck School System last school year.

At approximately 9:30 AM administrators from the Naugatuck school system went to a residence listed as the students home and discovered the residence had been vacated. The parents and students were identified as Father Andres Bravo (DOB2/4/75) and Mother Jennifer Cubillos (DOB 2/8/85), Child 1 Samantha Bravo (DOB 11/20/06) and Child 2 Christopher Bravo (DOB 4/7/04).

The school system advised that the students were last seen at the end of the 2017-18 school year in June and were last known to reside at the vacated address in Naugatuck with both parents. School administrators advised that all phone contacts for the parents are either no longer in service or no longer belong to the parents.

Naugatuck Officers and Detectives began an investigation and determined that the home had been sold and vacated in late June / early July and that the parents told family members at that time that they were planning to move to Florida. It was further discovered that the last time anyone had physical contact with parents was in late June / early July at a local bank. Family members further advised that they had received text messages from the parents until about August 11th and that the last messages they received indicated that they needed money for car insurance and were planning to return to Connecticut.

All DMV information for the parents is listed to the vacated Naugatuck address as well as a car registered to the parents, a gray 2007 Dodge Nitro SUV displaying CT Registration # AL-51810.

Based on the limited information on the whereabouts of the family all were listed as missing through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC system) and the juveniles were listed as Silver Alerts. Naugatuck Detectives are actively investigating this incident. Based on information obtained in this investigation thus far there is no indication of criminal activity however the safety of all individuals involved needs to be verified.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of these individuals they are urged to contact the Naugatuck PD at 203-729-5221 or the NPD Confidential Tip Line at 203-720-1010.

Is it unusual for a school district to track down kids from the previous year?

Is it unusual for a school district to track down kids from the previous year?

In Connecticut, children are not disenrolled from their old school until enrollment confirmation is received from the new school district. Naugatuck may just be following the procedural guidelines their district has established or they may just be following up on a family they had significant involvement with the prior school year.

Text messages until Aug 11 but if there wasn't phone calls just texts wanting money that doesn't sound good.

“Based on information obtained in this investigation thus far, there is no indication of criminal activity,” police said. The department is looking to verify the safety of all family members.

Police said family members were told by the parents that they were planning to move to Florida. The last time the parents had physical contact with family was at a local bank in late June or early July. Family members told police they had been in contact, via text messages, with the parents until around Aug. 11. “The last text messages they received indicated that they needed money for car insurance and were planning to return to Connecticut,” police said.

A gray 2007 Dodge Nitro SUV is registered to the parents. It has Connecticut plate AL-51810.

If all phone numbers are disconnected, could they still text? I hope they are safe, but it sounds like they could possibly be homeless.

They could text with an app if they had access to wifi. Like facebook messenger or something.

Missing Family Mystery Puzzles Police In Naugatuck

850x478

None of the parents’ phone numbers — about a half-dozen — work.

A Wednesday night call to police from a person who claimed to be one of the family members failed to help solve the mystery. Police told the person to go to the nearest police department with proof of identity, and that didn’t happen.

This reminds me of that case where the father told everyone they were moving and then killed the whole family. I don't recall the names. They need to find these people. If it were my family members, I'd be out of my mind with worry right now.

my thoughts exactly. it appears as though the father has been in a bit of trouble with the law.

Andres Bravo, 42, of 34 Calvin St., Naugatuck, was charged April 27 with two counts of failure to respond to infraction.
Naugatuck police blotter

i'm also wondering if a third party could be pretending to be the family.

they sold the home for $40,000, and it was assessed at $70,000. Is that because of taxes and realty fees? Or does that sell price seem kinda low?

edit: Check out the home I found in Naugatuck

it's being sold for $127k.
Due to finishes & work required 203k would be needed, SELLERS FINANCING or CASH for a quick sale. BRING ALL OFFERS, LOOKING FOR A FAST CLOSING!!

This property overview is from the previous listing when the home was listed for sale in Apr 2, 2018.
wat?

How do things like banking work when people move states in the US? Do people usually have to change banks and find a new one in the new state? What about credit cards, so people still sign for purchases or do they just use a pin number?

If it's one of the major banks, the could just find the same bank in a new location. For a smaller, or local bank, the would have to find a new one. Credit cards you sign for, but a lot of people use debit cards that you can sign or use a pin.

A Family-of-Four's Home Is Found Vacant as Authorities Realize No One Has Seen Them in Months
The family has left no forwarding information, police said. Public records still list the parents as living at the empty Naugatuck address. A 2007 Dodge Nitro SUV with Connecticut license plate number AL-51810 is also still registered to the couple, police said.

A phone call on Wednesday only complicated the case, the Courant reports: Someone purporting to be one of the missing family members reached out to police but did not report to law enforcement with proof of their identity, as asked.

A Facebook page that appears to belong to Bravo boasts photos of his wife and kids and states that he is from Medellin, Colombia. According to the page, he and Cubillos wed in May 2003.

Agree- may have sold in a short sale for quick money (I am in the credit underwriting role for many many years). Anybody have a chance to look up any social media profiles.
I can't even find their Facebooks, if that's what they used.

Says their living in Stamford, approx. 45 minutes southwest of Naugatuck. WhitePages doesn't list all this additional info.
